Great list Scoops!

Seen most of them. I love scary movies, but haven't seen any as of late.

"Rear Window" was a goody, and "The Shining" and "Carrie"...OMG! Carrie was one scary movie for me. The old one with Sissy Spacek. I think there was a new one also, a couple or so years ago, wasn't as good to me, as the older version.

YIKES!..Me sceered!..lol

It's funny that "The Ring" isn't on these lists...one of the scariest movies I've ever seen!
"Alien" - still love that one (well all of them actually).
"The Shining"...but I thought the book was scarier...
"Psycho" for sure and "The Birds" never forget watching both of those for the first time!

Oh, another one that scared me was "What Lies Beneath"

I'm trying to figure out how the "Titanic" got on this list....it's not scarey, as in Boo! scarey!!!!!

Is scarey spelled "scarey" or "scary"? I think the second one looks better.....

Phnatasm is one of the scariest I've ever seen... The "Tall Man" character used to give me nightmares...

There's been quite a few recent horror movies I've really liked... The Ring, Cabin Fever, and Jeepers Creepers were all really good...

I've gotta see that Phantasm, sounds like a good one!

Jinh, I seen Straight Jacket in the theater in the 60's. I was young then, let me say, I was young-ER then..lol..was trying to think, if it was in Black and white or color. I'd like to see THAT one again.

Oh yes, "Whatever happen to Baby Jane"...another good one!

Forget the 'movie' "The Exorcist"...try reading it! I left ALL of the lights on every night in the house for weeks. Just got over it in time for the movie to come out. Passed on that one! Now I read nothing more than Dr. Seuss after 10pm.

"Psycho" was enough to scare me for years until I was brave enough to go see another scary movie....Jaws! lol.....Now I just don't watch them unless they are the old ones without all the gore.

The Haunting and Phantasm are one of my favorites.
However Scoops, you omitted the movies Ben and Willard from the top 100 list, that is just unacceptable. Lol

I'm surprised 'Dressed to Kill' and 'Play Misty for Me' weren't mentioned. I'm not one to like the begeebies scared out of me. Psycho did just that, because it seemed like it could be true, or could happen somehow. My cousin talked me into seeing Psycho with her. I was terrified for weeks, and that shower scene music!!! It even sent chills down my spine when they used that music on a mildew cleaning commercial. I think I shut my mind off to what cleaning product they were even advertising just because of that music!!!

And what about Frenzy or the one where several in a high school French class cheated death (can't think of the name of that one)?

I don't see some of them listed as horror films at all, and can't understand that they were ever intended to be scary. Titanic was about as scary as the villains in Disney's animated films.

I think Scoops original list of top 100 was for "thrillers" of all time = not horror.

I had to take a second look at it when I saw "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" listed LOL
