I am copying this from another board. I am not an AOL user, so I have not called this number to verify. I am posting this so that maybe some of you can save some $$$$!!!!

:)

GOOD NEWS FOR AOL USERS...
YOU MUST CALL, YOU CANNOT DO ONLINE

They have dropped the price of the unlimited AOL service in order to compete with other service providers. It is now $14.95 a month for unlimited...I believe it used to be $23.95. They put the lower price into effect this past weekend, but you have to call and request the new unlimited plan. One catch is that you have to agree to keep the service for 12 months. They will begin advertising the new plan within the next couple of weeks, but you can call now and start saving some money sooner. 14.95 a month if you commit to 12 months of service

1-888-265-8008 OR 8003 (AOL customer service)

The "catch" with the new value plan is you must commit to 12 months of service... if you cancel before that time is up you pay a one-time $50 fee.

Being a member of AARP, I already get the discounted $14.95 price and have been for several years.

This is true. A friend of mine called AOL and got her plan reduced to $14.95 last week. She said you have to say you want the "14.95 unlimited package." She also mentioned the $50 fee if you cancel before 12 months.

My friend just told me the other plans are reduced too. So, maybe E.T. should call and see if AOL will give them a discount to the already discounted AARP plan. Doesn't hurt to try.

She also said it took a while to get through but it was worth it. They also gave her a month free 'cause she has been with them for three years.

BTW, nice of you to copy that, Skeeter.

When we called on Monday of this week, they told us that the 14.95 special was gone, but we did get ours reduced to $19.90.AOL told us that the 14.95 deal was a special where they chose 5,000 users in kind of a contest and they were the only ones to get the 14.95 special.
