...which is the title of an article written by Diane Clehane in the NY Post. It's filled with things we pretty much knew. The underlying theme, for me, is that Reege is one of the good guys and did in fact basically 'save the network.'
I thought it interesting that he would say this, however, regarding Live!, "I don't prepare much anymore," he says, sounding a bit contrite. "Sometimes I think the less I prepare the better I am. I'm also working with somebody who has (her own) point of view so you've got to sublimate what you've got so that the team works together."
The two things that jumped out at me were that the author felt he sounded contrite, almost apologetic, that he didn't prepare as much and that Reege's old school work ethic seems to have taken a back seat for the good of the "team."
He does sum it all up though in his usual upbeat fashion, "We're a 5.1, so we're still hot, still cooking baby!"
lol--"so you've got to sublimate what you've got"--sheesh,
I hate when that happens, lol

Wonder where they are a 5.1...
LOL... Go Figure... I thought Regis was "always" supberbly prepared.
All I can say is keep on sublimating, "baby" - you know where your bread is buttered - the show has never been more fun, IMO/OC.. Though I don't know why anyone would think that a 'bad' thing... On some fronts, I wish he would do it even more. It IS a team, after all, though some simply refuse to accept that fact.
Sounds to me, he may feel he doesn't "have" to prepare as much. Perhaps he feels contrite and applogetic (If we can rely on your spin as being accurate (lol)), because he is just not up to doing the amount of homework he used to.
Wish we could get the whole article so we could judge for ourselves.
;0))

maybe the 5.1 is the NY ranking.
And why does Gailsie think "sublimate" is a bad thing? According to the definitions, there's nothing wrong with that especially where Kelly is concerned. I don't see where a "lol" is an appropriate reaction to the definition but then again, I don't see a whole lot of what she sees.....like she's watching a different show?????? And that deserves a real LOL!!!

Hi shel, that's what I figured too, the 5.1 is the NY rating. Reege always was more concerned with the NY ratings, even back in the day, lol.
btw, it was almost spring-like here today--woohoo! The real thing can't be too far away (she said, crossing her fingers, lol.)
lol
Bout time for SATC. Woohoo!!
ABC should be flying high this morning.....Millionaire tops ratings.
Nice article on our Reege.

Hey gang,
Caught the ratings in the USA Today on Wednesday and was so glad to see Regis and Diane Sawyer both had ABC shows in the Top 20 for the week.....Reege with Sunday's Super Millionaire at #14 and Diane (I believe) for the PrimeTime about Passion of the Christ at #16.....
Since then, SM has been settling in....not the blockbuster I had hoped for, but still a success....Marc Berman mentioned today it significantly improved on its time SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM' ratings compared to prior week and prior year...big double digit increases.
Maybe more tweaking for the May SM? Another fancy lifeline? How about an earlier slot?

I wish SM was on a little earlier. We don't get it here til 11 and by that time I am throwing myself into my bed!-lol
I suppose ABC does not want it to compete with alot of the shows that are on earlier .

“SUPER MILLIONAIRE,” WITH HOST REGIS PHILBIN, RETURNS TO ABC IN MAY
ABC Announces the Program’s Pick Up as February’s Five-Night Event Concludes
“Super Millionaire,” the super charged version of the original hit series “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” has been picked up for airing in May it was announced today by the ABC Television Network. Regis Philbin will return as host of the program.
“Super Millionaire’s” return to ABC’s primetime schedule on Sunday, February 22, drew an average audience of 17.5 million viewers to rank as the most-watched television program that night. Also on its return, the show delivered the largest audience and highest young adult ratings for the “Millionaire” franchise since May 2001. On each of its four telecasts so far, “Super Millionaire” has been ABC’s No. 1 show of the night among viewers and young adults. Versus ABC’s delivery this season with entertainment programming in the time periods, “Super Millionaire” is up by 5.2 million Total Viewers (14.3 million vs. 9.1 million), by 34% among Adults 18-49 (4.7/11 vs. 3.5/9) and by 54% among Adults 18-34 (4.0/11 vs. 2.6/7). On average, “Super Millionaire” builds on its lead-in by over 4 million viewers and gains audience during the course of its telecast.
In “Super Millionaire,” contestants from across the country attempt to navigate 15 multiple-choice questions for cash, but this time the stakes are higher -- much higher. The value of the first question is $1,000 and the prizes quickly escalate from there, with the final question worth $10,000,000. During the first four episodes of the series this month, contestants have won $1.795 million and there were two big winners -- Todd Kim, an attorney from Washington, D.C., walked away with $500,000 and Robert Essig, a computer speSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMt of Ashtabula, OH, won $1 million.
“With ‘Super Millionaire,’ the ‘Millionaire’ franchise is an event again,” said executive producer Michael Davies. “This is how this show was designed to be scheduled and it’s how it works best. Regis has been amazing and we’re both delighted with the early pick up. Neither of us can wait until May.”
“Super Millionaire” is produced by Valleycrest Productions Ltd. Michael Davies and Paul Smith are executive producers. Co-executive producers are Leigh Ham
