Just checking in. It's very cold here today. I wonder if that is because of the 4 to 5 feet of snow on the ground?
All is well here. The flight was beautiful. I stopped in Seattle for a couple of hours. It is so much bigger than when we lived in this area. Of course, every where is growing leaps and bounds. I could actually see Ivor's from the plane. Love their seafood.
I hope everyone is well.

Hi Sandy....
Hmmm... Guess that's why we got hardly any snow this year... Between you, Lmroland, and the east coast, our share was reduced a whole heckofa lot...
But we will still move to Texas...
Hope your visit is "fun, fun, fun"... With or without Daddy's T-Bird...

Enjoy your visit Sandy! I'd love to see Alaska in winter sometime! And I've never seen a moose either----well in the wild anyway.

Hi Sandy! Hope you are having a ball!!
DR, when I can get around again on my own, I will have to send you some magnets. Do you get a magnet from each state you visit?

<< Do you get a magnet from each state you visit? >>
ha! if that were the case I would only have magnets from nebraska and maybe one from kansas. I usually whine to people who actually get to travel and ask them to bring me back magnets.
I'm in the process of creating another website of my magnet collection which contains more than 400 magnets.
but enough about me.....enjoy the rest of your trip and feel better.

<< what kind of magnets do you collect?? >>
when I beg people to bring me back magnets, I give them the following criteria: the magnet either has to have my name on it or when they see the magnet, it makes them think of me (as long as it doesn't make me cry).
laraney, what kinda magnets do you collect? I'm slowing but (lavern and) shirley photographing my collection to post on the website. let me know if you have any unique ones. if you can snap pictures of them, I'll post them too.

Sorry, laraney ~ I never saw your post!!! Duh to me!!!
I'll help you out if I can, if you tell me what you like!!!
Hmmmm.....how do people find magnets with dailyripa on them? Isn't that like finding a needle in a haystack?????
:)

I took a look for Kelly fridge magnets on eBay... They were available a while back, but evidently they have all been scobbed up... Grrr...
Ida got one for our favorite DR... For sure! Hmm... Maybe our DR could make his own - and sell the surplus on eBay??

Good morning all.
Thanks for all the responses. I will check out magnets during my travels. So that's magnets, postcards, keychains. Is there anything else I should be looking for??
I have seen moose everyday since I have been here. It is funny, there is one that comes strolling down the road everyday around this time. He reminds me of the one in that show a few years ago about Alaska. unfortunately I cannot rememgber the name of it. That's what age does to you.
Today we are going to tea. It is kind of a celebration because last night this grandson started reading some of his little books. It was suspected that he could read little things for awhile now. He started spelling all of the signs as we traveled around, and then the other day, we were leaving for his Birthday Party, and he asked what does pardy spell? We said nothing, spelled party correctly for him and he said it sounds like a "d" to him. Pretty good for a five year old I think.
Well, it is still cold, but no more snow.
Jinh, we flew over the length of Montana the other night. I waved, but apparently it was too dark for you to see me. LOL
Have a great day all,
Sandy
Hi Sandy .. Darn it! That's twice now that I missed you flying over! LOL
Neat about the moosies...they are sooo big!
I used to have relatives in Anchorage and Fairbanks but they all moved to Hawaii - LOL
Glad you're having a nice time, thanks for keeping in touch!
Jinh
P.S. The show you are trying to think of is "Northern Exposure"..always liked that one..

One of Hubby's favorite songs is the theme song from that program... I think it's neat, too...

I collect spoons Sandy. I should have one from Alaska, I've been up there twice, but not for 30+ yrs. I can't remember when I started collecting them. Oh! Now I remember, it was on our honeymoon, we drove up through the Northwestern states and I got one from SD, WY, MT, ID, WA, OR and wherever I've been since then. So no, I don't have a spoon from Alaska, b/c I hadn't started collecting them until after we were married.
I've been thru OK four times this summer and never stopped anywhere long enough to buy a spoon from there. I have two from TX, one from Lackland AFB and one just TX. From foreign countries, I have one from Ireland and now son has sent me two from Japan for Christmas.
Enjoy that grandson! Like I need to tell you to.
