I don't know, Jinh... That's a toughie...

Kazaa is the main peer to peer, if you feel like taking a chance, LOL... If you do, be aware the program comes with a lot of bundled software, that can be a bitch to get rid of...

Napster is back - the legal version... Don't know how many artists they have signed up..

Walmart.com has a beta music download program. There's that one by Apple... I looked at that site earlier, and they say if you don't have a high speed connection, it's not recommended.

I quit "dabbling" when they started threatening lawsuits. <grin> I recall when I was in the BMG music club, you could build your own CDs for a buck a song.

There's also MP3.com..

Gonna pass on buying Google... I'd like them to have a chance! I'm not too good at picking .coms. Missed out on eBay, and bought Pets.com... Sigh!

Well, I downloaded and installed Windows Media Player and then followed a link to God knows where...while there, I downloaded a song I really like and some cool psychedelic 'skins' (reminds me of being about 13 again)lol...hope it wasn't illegal - shoot, who knows?

I know what you mean about the whole market scene...lots of sore spots there...we didn't buy any dot coms, but do have lots of 'tech stocks' that are just sittin' there - woulda, shoulda, coulda is the motto around here...UGGGGG!

Thanks for your input...think I'll probably go the walmart way if I do anything else..actually, can't think of many songs I want..just kindof fun to be able to 'do it' at last!!LOL

I like Windows Media Player... Their graphic screens are mighty Kewl to watch full screen while you are listening to music.. Emphasizes the base quite nicely...

I seriously doubt Windows would send you to any "illegal" site - it's a sore point with them, too...

On a diffrent, but similar note... I broke down and bought some DVDs while Hubby was gone, LOL (among other things)... AND used his gift certificate Christmas present...

I got tired of him always saying, "no, don't want it", and simply ordered My Fair Lady and a big pack of Rogers and Hammerstein(sp) Musicals... Hey, they enticed me with 10% off and free shipping... Could not wait for him to return... (That's my story and I'm sticking to it!)
