Hi everyone, I'm hoping for some feedback here. I've been using the Principal Secret Reclaim for two weeks now and not only am I not seeing the claimed improvements, my face is starting to feel like the Sahara Desert. I know you have to give these things time but I'm wondering if I should cut and run now before it literally starts cracking! Do any of you use this stuff? Should I give it another couple of weeks? Or should I get on the phone and beg my Avon lady for forgiveness? Thanks in advance for your insights.

It did flake on me and cause dryness, particularly under the eyes; however, this has happened to me with other lines including Dr. Denese and Dr. Perricone. The only skin care line that I have been able to use, and I am going to stay with it, is Philosophy. I do have a chronic illness and take a lot of medication, so I believe that my chemistry has a lot to do with my reaction to skin care products. I may not be the best example to use.

I bought my Mother the TSV and she loves it.

I am going to return my TSV to QVC, and not stray again from Philosophy!

Philosophy is the only thing I can use as well. I had the same problems with the other lines. I, like astute, am on copious amounts of medication and Philosphy is the only skin care the works. I cannot go with my Real Purity Cleanser or "The Present" clear make-up. It is amazing!

Hi! I also did not see a benefit with Reclaim. I used VP's original line and liked it in my mid 40's. In my late 40's tried her Advance line, but it tended to burn my skin. Now in my early 50's I tried Reclaim, but had a bad reaction to the eye cream. It had a burning sensation, like a paba based skin cream. I've used Clientele for about a year and like it to some extent -- the Illuminator is awesome! Dr. Denese line is good, but a lot of serums to juggle. I heard the spokeswoman, Stacy Shefflin, from Models Prefer say she likes Oil of Olay Regenerist very much, for what it's worth.

Curvigirl.
Hi, hope you read my post on BE in that forum re the web sites. : )

I do think two weeks is too short a time to expect to see results. If it's making you dry, I'd stop using the cleanser and exfoliant and the mask or whatever. Just use the day and night creams. And possibly the eye cream for a couple days to see if that's ok. My suspicion is that the eye cream after the PS cleanser is what causes the burning/drying/flaking. If used after Purity, might be just fine. I think many cleansers strip the skin, and I know the PS ones have a toner in them. Purity is gentle yet thorough.

I've used PS cleansers in the past and they are what's drying! And I have oily/combination skin. I've used the reclaim day cream and it's very moisturizing, more so than Hope in a Jar even, I think.

(Side note...if I could only use ONE skin care line, it's be Philosophy, but since I can use many, I do! : )

I'd say something similar about Dr. Denese. Skip the cleanser/toner (use Purity Made Simple!), and delay starting the cellular firming serum and glycolic pads if you are dry. But do use the wrinkle less first and the hydroderm OR doctor's recovery serum. Use right after Purity Made simple. Follow with her moisturizer or the Hope in a Jar. See how your skin reacts. If all ok, then start using glycolic pads once a week. If ok, go to twice a week.

Now, I can use them everyday since I'm oily. haha.

I'm not sure the Dr. Denese microdermabrasion cream does anything more than a good physical exfoliant/scrub/buffing agent would. I've used it three times now. I do like some chemical exfoliating products..."Great Mystery" from Philosophy and "Gentle Enzyme Treatment" from PS. I'm going to try the Philoosophy Resurfacing Kit (got a sample in a QVC discovery kit), which is probably more comparable to the Denese Microdermabrasion Cream.

Last note, Curvigirl, PS has a 60-day guarantee, even through QVC, so don't rush to send them back!

Sorry for this really long and probably boring post. I could talk about skin care forever. In my next life, I'd like to be a dermatologist or esthetician.

Thanks for the input. Actually, by yesterday my skin was so raw and actually painful (like your upper lip when you have a cold--EWWW!) that I packaged everything up and it's going back. It may have been the cleanser, I'd barely used the mask or exfoliant. Anyway, I'm back to Avon. I like their Anew line a lot but got sucked into the PS auto-delivery price and convenience concept. Live and learn! Thanks again.

Sorry about your hurting face. That's terrible!

Hey, I heard that Avon's Anew line has a set of glycolic pads....a two step thingy?

Do you know anything about it? I'm thinking it's probably the same stuff Dr. Denese puts out, but at a better price.

Thanks for any info you might have!

I just got a sample of Avon's two-step product and I'm going to try it out as soon as my face heals! Remind me if I forget. (Unfortunately neither QVC nor Avon has come out with a line to reduce the wrinkles in my brain...)

P.S. Thinking about the number of people who read these posts and the fact I seem to be only one who's had this degree of reaction, I do want to say that I'm sure Reclaim has been extensively tested and I don't mean to slam it. For whatever reason, it just didn't agree my particular skin.

I suppose I'd have to be somebody's customer to get a sample. hmm.
Well, I'll TRY to remind you, my fellow wrinkled brain. : )

Just call an Avon rep and I'm sure you can get one. Or go ahead and order it--it's $32 but it's got a money-back guarantee.

Hi, I have been using Reclaim for 3 weeks now, and keep looking in the mirror for my wrinkles to start disappearing. No luck so far. I wonder how long you really have to use it to see any difference?

Principal Secret does have a 60-day bottom-the-jar guarantee, so maybe it takes that long to see a difference!

I think with most stuff, takes 6-8 weeks of faithful use. That's the hard part...faithful...too fickle in my skin care products.

I have been really faithful to this so far. Before I was using the clientel. I really liked that too. Just hoping for even more, you know? If I don't see very much results with this, I will probably go back to Clientel.

you sound like me...in constant search. : )

I try them all. Right now I'm trying the Dr. Denese, but am on waitlist for the Reclaim set. Have also used Clientele. And I use Philosophy the most. Really like that line.

I used Dr. Denise, but didn't have any better results than from Clientel. I just looked in the mirror when I got home and thought my lines looked a little fainter, Wishful thinking? We will see.
