Good morning, everyone. Am curious as to what you think about Sally Combs (spelling?), who represents Birkenstock. She's about 20-30 something and has long blonde hair. I've seen her once before and think she is hilarious!

Also, what do you think of the Birkenstock product? I have one pair of the "plain vanilla" back-strap sandals that I absolutely love. Have had them for years. They are very comfortable and, for me, there was absolutely no "break in" period.

Reason I'm posting this is because Sally will be on soon and I'm debating whether or not to order another pair of Birkenstocks.

I own 4 pair of "Birkies".. wish I could wear them to work.. but my place is very business oriented and they would never be proper... but the shoes are awesome... very comfortable... so go ahead and buy some.... they are worth the price... as for Sally,, I like her.... love her accent,, not sure were she is from, but she is cool.

Thanks, Carly. My guess would be Sally is from Minnesota or from Wisconsin.

What do you--or anyone out there--think about the QVC prices for Birkenstocks? I paid $59.99 for mine several years ago (not from QVC). My sister has paid as much as $175.00 for a pair, but, unlike me, she shops in the more expensive stores.

to be honest I never purchased a pair of "Birkies" from any other source.. just QVC. so I have nothing to compare the prices with...I liked the first pair she had on this morning.. but it was not on easy pay.. so I passed........ I am not certain how ,management decides which item is going to be on easy-pay.. I am sure there is a system of sorts to determine this.....but again, Sally is fun to watch...

my sister wore birkenstock for years....then she switched to Mephistos, and swears they are 10 times better.

I've never bought any, but with they come out with some of the really cute prints, I'm sorely tempted.

oh, and I do enjoy watching Sally Combs. Sorry I missed her earlier today. Funny lady. You can tell she believes in the products. Plus, she's a charming combination of feminine and tomboyish.

Sally seems very down to earth and would have fit right in with SAn Francisco in the 60s!!

As for Birks, I own a pair and have worn them for years. However, I always get a blister from them. I don't know if it is the shape of my foot or whatever. They feel good at first and by the end of the day, my instep is aching!
Maybe they work better on certain feet?
Personally, I like Clarks and White Mountain but both offer little or no wide sizes so it is slim pickings for me!

Snow tiger... I agree, Sally seems like a gal that has fun; and she seems to be a really nice person.....plus her shoes are great!

i've got 12 pairs - two pair of clogs so i can wear them to work. i've torn both of my achilles in the last six years and these shoes are the only ones that don't leave my ankles tired at the end of the day. they're like wearing slippers, but it's really important that you get the right fit. they have some of the more unusual styles on HSN, though i've never bought from there. prices seem to be comparable to QVC's, which tend to run lower than in stores. take advantage of introductory and anniversary pricing whenever possible.

Sally is from Minnesota, she was married at one time or is married now. When she first came to QVC she had another last name, can't think of it now, but it will come to me.

Company History
Birkenstock Footprint Sandals, Inc., also known as Birkenstock USA, began over 35 years ago with our founder Margot Fraser’s dream to bring the comfort and health benefits of Birkenstock footwear to America.
While on vacation in Germany, Margot sought relief from uncomfortable shoes and the tiring effects of walking all day on hard pavement. At a spa someone suggested that she try Birkenstocks and she enjoyed immediate relief and comfort. Moreover, she found that the chronic foot pain she had endured for years went away within months after she returned home to California. Margot learned that the original Birkenstock contoured footbed was invented and manufactured in Germany by Konrad Birkenstock in 1897. The Birkenstock family has been shoemakers for over 225 years – more than two centuries of creating and perfecting a tradition of walking comfort. In 1966, Margot began importing Birkenstock footwear from Germany in small amounts and Birkenstock USA was born.

Today, Birkenstock Footprint Sandals, Inc. continues to grow with hundreds of footwear styles and millions of satisfied and loyal customers. The philosophy of providing supportive footwear that promotes wellness has always remained at the core of Birkenstock. We hold the strong belief that our products and services enhance people's quality of life, and add to their health and vitality.

The company’s Novato, California site (located in Marin County, north of San Francisco) serves as national headquarters for importing, distribution, sales and marketing of Birkenstock footwear products across the United States. Birkenstock occupies 160,000 square feet of warehouse and office space on over 90 beautiful acres.

I like Sally. That hippie chick thing she has going on is very sexy.

I've never worn Birkenstock shoes, but shopreturn is right, Mephistos are extremely comfortable. My hubby owns a pair of Mephistos, too.
