Hi! Would love to hear any experiences you ladies have had with either of these two products--good or bad. Thanks.

Hi Pookie,

I actually use both TIPS and ProStrong. My nails used to be weak, break very easily and even peel. I change my nail polish twice weekly; after removing the polish I use TIPS on a clean nail in the evening and in the morning. I also use TIPS, but only on the cuticle, each evening.

I use 2 ProStrong products; the first is the 3 piece with flouride and calcium. I use this daily and use it over nail polish. I also use the 6-piece with the nail builder, sealer, top coat, etc. I only use this when changing my nail polish, with the exception of the top coat, which I use each morning after the calcium and flouride.

This sounds very cumbersome and probably confusing, but it just took me time to develop a routine. I have all 3 of these items on auto-delivery and have been using them for approximately 2 years.

Hope this helps.

Pookie,

I just realized I forgot the most important thing. My nails are now strong, no longer dry, and grow so quickly that I have to file them frequently. Previously, I didn't even need to buy a nail file! LOL

Astute, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I very much appreciate the advice. Wow! Your nails sound fantastic. I'll give your routine a try. Thanks again!

Hi Pookie. Glad you brought this up. Have been very curious about both.

Astute.
Hi there. Going to have to copy and paste your routine. Thanks so much for sharing.
ONE problem. You didn't give Andrew any credit. *Sniff* : )

I tried ProStrong and it didn't work for me. I am hesitant to try TIPS because of that lady banging her nails on the table. That is a powerful demonstration but it annoys me.

That lady chopping up that wooden block with her nails scares me!

Yeah, definitley scary! I hope QVC doesn't mind her ruining their table with her "claw" marks. The sound of her doing that goes on and on during that presentation...

Denim, the last time I saw the TIPS lady she brought her own board. I guess QVC got tired of her destroying their furniture. But I have to say, her nails do look nice, even though she is a little scary.

Hi Shopreturn,

You are absolutely correct!!! I neglected to give Andrew Lessman his due credit for the "state of my nails." His supplement has made a significant difference with my hair, skin, and nails. But I believe it is his supplements combined with my routine of ProStrong and TIPS that has made my nails as strong as they are.

I hadn't thought about the TIPS lady being scary and it was her ability to bang on the table without breaking a nail that sold me on trying the product. And the product is great!!!

I've had good luck with TIPS, but Pro Strong was terrible. The polish peels easily and my nails dried out. I've found TIPS really promote cuticle health which is the secret to strong nails.

Deliah,

I soooo agree with you on the Pro Strong polish. TERRIBLE!
In fact, I threw mine in the garbage after giving it several chances!! It just peeled off my nails in NO TIME at all. I even took it to my manicurist at the time and had her put it on me. Even she couldn't make it work. That manicure was one of the dullest looking and the polish was peeling off by the next morning. I learned my lesson. The polish she used always looked shinier and gave my nails a harder, longer lasting coat. It lasts forever on my toes and I still LOVE it to this day. It was OPI. AWESOME product!

Just my two cents. My nails are ok on their own, minimal or average issues, so you may need more or less but I've found good results with just
1. An excellent multivitamin. Andrew Lessman has a hair and Nails formula that I am sure is just terrific if you need special attention, but his regular multiviamin works good enough for my needs and I get the benefits of taking just one comprehensive product.
2. I really keep my use of nail polish remover at a minimum. I've found it really dries out my nails and it takes my nails a time to recover. This means I don't polish my nails all the time. I keep my nails clean, filed and bare much of the time and turn into the vamp only about once every month or so.
3. I just use a favorite bath and body lotion on my hands when I think about it. It works wonders on my nails and cuticles.

The above is all I have time or paitience for. I'm a girly-girl only to a certain point I guess. :)

Delilah and SnowTiger, thanks for the advice about the ProStrong polish. I used to love Mojave Magic's Burnished Rose, but they've discontinued it. Maybe I'll give Opi a try.

pookie, did you check e-bay? i think there are a few postings for it, if you're not reluctant to buy from someone else. i know it can be risky, though.

i don't know if mojave magic is sold anywhere else, but you might also try a web search. sometimes, you can find a few leftovers after an item is discontinued.

I thought it was horrible...tried the original they and and tried it again last spring, made my nails split more. I tried the auto delivery on the polish cause the colors were cool, almost every one of them was real thick and dried up ...after the 2nd shipment of wasted money I cancelled and trashed them.

In terms of polish, I think OPI is the best. I get my nails done at the day spa every 3 weeks, and I love OPI. It wears well and has beautiful colors, but I think it's pricey-- mostly because I buy 4 bottles of polish at a time, and never finish them all before they go bad. I'd be wasting money if I BOUGHT OPI-- unless I stuck to one color. I use Sally Hanson from the SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM when I do buy. It's pretty good stuff!

hey, shopreturn. i haven't tried it myself, but my mom's best friend loves it. she changes her polish two to three times per week, but not because it doesn't last. she just loves to polish her nails.

Shopreturn, thank you for asking the question about the Joan Rivers polishes, and Yankee, thank you for answering. I've wondered about them. The colors look so pretty. Maybe I'll try them sometime.

I agree with Karyn. OPI is the longest-lasting polish.
