Anyone ever tried the Fran Wilson lip products?

I have a serious lipstick and lipgloss fetish, and I already have tons, and tons, and TONS of such products, but for a while I have been seriously considering the Fran Wilson Lipglosses in particular.

Any thoughts?

I don't have the lipglosses but years ago got the Fran
Wilson lipsticks that came with 2 moodmatchers--loved
the Crazy Coffee and Peppermint Reds--can't bring myself
to throw them out. Did order the lipcreams in the neutral
shades and almost ordered newest set--but stopped myself--
The only lipgloss I like are the BE ones--wouldn't have
ordered them but they came in TSV's. I put the one called
Crystalline (it's clear) over everything. The Fran Wilson
lipcreams are creamy, and a great buy. As much as I
said I wouldn't buy Joan Rivers makeup she did have some
need mini lipsticks on this a.m. I've stopped spending
a lot of money on lipsticks--if I get a set and can't use
all the colors I like to give them to the women who work
at my mother's nursing home.

Hi Rubix,

Yes, I love Fran Wilson lipsticks. Especially the "Mood Pearl" line - in all the colors. The "Irrestible Lip Creams" are very nice also - and they taste GREAT!! Haven't tried her new stuff yet, but I'm sure they would be good too.

I use the Mood Pearl colors everyday because of their wearability - they don't wear off easily. I can go almost all day without reapplying color. The Lip Creams are so soft and subtle - great for evenings out - and you don't even need dessert after applying the "Sugar" Lip Cream - Yummy !! :-)

I've tried a LOT of lipsticks and the Fran Wilson line is hands down my favorite.

Hope this helps.

I have the lip creams with shea butter and I really like them. Well, actually I only use two of the set cuz I'm not really into big color. I use the 'topaz' and the white one a lot.

Years ago I had the ones with all those coffee, mocha, etc flavors. Still have 'em! heh The new lip creams are better, IMO.

Lancaster,
You are SUCH an angel to give colors you won't use to such a wonder cause to make someone happy and feel special. You are such a doll.

Tiger,
That you for the info! You are very convincing! I think that after I put a serious, SERIOUS dent in my current horde of lip stuffs, I will CERTAINLY have to get the Fran Wilson stuff! Actually, I will send the links to my hubbie, and tell him to give them to me for my birthday. It doesn't count if I don't buy them myself! :P

I am new to the site. I have been reading the posting for about a week now. I also have used the Fran Wilson lipsticks. I really like them. My lips are very dry and these lipsticks are the only ones that do not dry out my lips more. I like the lip creams the best.

Hi Rubix,

LOL !! You are right - it doesn't count if hubbie buys them! In fact, during Diamonique day, I "hinted" about a particular ring I thought about purchasing and I saw my hubbie writing down the item number !! So, hopefully, there will be a nice surprise for me in the days to come.

By the way - - my hubbie really likes the Fran Wilson lipsticks too. He said "they make your lips deliciously sweet, soft and kissable". Now, if that's not a good selling point, I don't know what is !! LOL!!!

Tiger :-)

I will have to copy and paste the text of your post and email it to my hubbie. A fabulous selling point, my dear! I'll have myself some Fran Wilson in NO TIME! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the assistance! :P

I had a completely opposite experience. They were horrible. They all turned orange on me and lasted maybe 15 minutes. The smell and taste drove me nuttier than I already am. I ended up giving them to the little girls next door to play dress up.

REALLY? You don't say? Which Fran Wilson products were they, and approximately when was this? I wonder if it is a product they no longer carry, or, if it is, if it was a fluke?

They were the mood matchers. But I have messed up body chemistry so that might have had something to do with it. Although, I can't wear Revlon lipsticks either. They give me cold sores. SO attractive!

I love her lipglosses. Creamy and luscious! The only problem is these big kits they come in. I really only use one or two of the lipstick colors and one of the lipgloss. I'd like to buy them separately.

Still, I've used everything including Chanel, Lancome and other expensive lipglosses and Fran's are the greatest.

I loved, loved, LOVED the earth-tone Mood Matchers! I, too, can't bring myself to throw out what's left of mine, even tho' they did finally start to "turn" in the tube after a few years. Believe it or not, the sweet coffee flavor remains. I decided to look for them locally during the time they were presented at the Q, too see whether I could get them for less $$$$$. Found them at a cosmetics outlet at a FRACTION of the price!!! Do they still sell them???

I love the shea butter lipsticks and the flavored lip glosses (coffee and jelly bean)...however, I bought a set that came in the plastic squeeze tubes (can't remember what they are called) and they burned my lips! My lips tingled and turned bright red.

RubixCube - would love to chat with you one day about lipstick and lipgloss fetish but I see you havent been on in a while. I have an entire dresser drawer filled with lipstick, liner, glosses. I have hundreds no kidding!! Is it an obsession or an addiction? I just can't live without my lipstick!!

HHIgirl, I hear ya!! I will have to set the VCR so I dont miss a thing!!

I am right there with you sharing the love for the aforementioned "lippy's". Chanel glossamer wands are among my faves. A poster a while back(hate when I can't remember names, want to give her credit) suggest Cargo lipgloss. I have yet to try it but have heard rave reviews.

HOw sick is this. I have the Lori Grenier make up organizer (the pretty green toile one) and jsut spend time "looking" at my tiny lippy museum! I just love being girly girl!

B.R.

hahaha Being a girly girl is the best!!!

HHIgirl, I have my lipsticks, liners, glosses, plumpers etc in a dresser drawer. At the end of my bed I have a pier one trunk. I sit on the trunk and look into my drawer of treasures!!

All my lipsticks are rubberband by color family by brand. If you asked where Chanel Coco Red is I can immediately find it. lmao

Somedays I wear 3 different lipsticks in one day. I will start out with one in the morning, change after lunch, then change again after work.

I spend alot of time on Gloss.com and Sephora.com check it out!!

Have you tried Bobbie Brown lipsticks?

HHIgirl
02-10-2005, 02:42 PM
OMG! I have found my "make up twin". I love that Chanel color and I actually need to replace mine, it is down to nothing. I haven't tried Bobbi Brown yet, but I did breeze by her counter the last time I was at Sak's (it is an hour drive from my house to the good mall). I also have my drawer in my bedside table filled with "nightime" lippy's and hand and nail products. My nighttime routine takes almost 30 minutes by tthe time I am done lotionging, washing, exfoliating, etc. I am more high maintenance now than I have ever been before.

Strange, all this high high high maintenace stuff started when the beau went away...Man, whoever I date next is going to have his hands full! LOL

B.R.
02-10-2005, 03:05 PM
We are "make-up twins" hahaha

I also have a night routine. Neck cream, eye cream, extra firming face cream, hand cream, lip conditioner....I am exhausted by the time I turn it.

Skin Care, Colour, Fragrance makes us feel complete. And if high maintenance makes us happy, well so be it then.

No one will ever refer to us as Plain Janes hahaha

HHIgirl
02-10-2005, 03:14 PM
I feel the same way. By the time I am done primping for bed I am completely exhausted. I even have a nap routine with hand lotion and sleepy gloves. I just noticed today that my feet are getting scaly from the swimming pool and now i have to add footie stuff to my night time routine. I better start right now to make it in bed by 10!

What are your fave night time products?

B.R.
02-10-2005, 03:36 PM
Actually all my skin care products are Clarins. I use the Extra Firming line. They have night creams for face and eyes. They have tons of wonderful products from hydration to sensative to line prevention and extra firming that I swear by. Check out their website www.clarins.com. For my lips I exfoliate with Smashbox then I use either Clarins Extra Frirming Age Control Lip and Contour, Avon Beyond Colour Plumping Conditioner or Sally Hansen Lip Conditioner + Plumper. For around my lip contour where fine lines are I use Estee Lauder Perfectionist Correcting Concentrate for Lip Lines. I am 39 and I am fighting off 40!!! Big time!!! Clarins also makes a wonderful nail and hand treatment cream. And for the body Clarins moisture rich body lotion.

What do you use??

puddy
02-10-2005, 04:22 PM
BR - you are too bad! I do the same thing! I never arrive at home wearing the same lipstick I left with in the morning. Fran Wilson has good stuff for low prices IMO. The lipstick is good. It stays on and does not dry out your lips. I love the Sallly Hansen stuff - once again, good products for cheap! I am WAY into Avon's Clinical range. I use the line plumper, the cream and the micro-dermabrasion stuff. Has anyone heard of another line by Avon called Becoming? They have a product called UnFlawed. It's a miracle cream. $45.00 a jar and it lasts a long time.

I am a Philosophy girl all the way, except of course in the lip department. My plastic surgeon started me on the Biomedic many moons ago. I have occassionally used Clarins and the few things I used I absolutely adored. I love their fragrance. When I was still in the land of retail I had friend that worked Clarins and yes, things just came my way. It was really nice. I sure do miss some of those perks!

Like you, I am also 39 and fighting 40. I decided that this will be my "selfish" year. All these horrible things happened to me last year and I just decided to devote this year all to moi! I am having laser treatments to remove facial hair(there goes my "ghost" of a chance. lol) from years of prednisone. I am going to have microdermabrasion next and am considering botox or restalyne. I am very fortunate, I can still past for late 20's and I want to hold on to that. Others may think this is the ultimate "conceit" year for me, but so what. I am actually having fun!!! No beau leaves LOADS of time for trips to the salon. And fortunately one of my very best friends owns her own.

How may visits does it take for laser hair removal?

HHIgirl
02-10-2005, 04:52 PM
I am scheduled for 5, but they said you usually don't need that many. They just do it for "good measure". I didn't notice a different after the first treament, which was a week ago. But today the "sheddiing" process started. So am happy about that. There is some regrowth between each visit. I will go every 5 weeks. It is SO worth it to me to not be self concious about the billy goat hairs. It is really an embarrassment for me. I know it is so small and insignificant and others have worse facial issues. I just would really love to be outside and not have someone comment on the chin hairs. People are just rude.

HHIgirl, you are killing me over here. When do you turn 40? I turn 40 on October 31st. I feel an on line party coming on for us....hahaha

That is wonderful that you can pass for late 20's. I don't know what age I can pass for, maybe mid 30's? A terrible marriage that ended years and years ago, having an 11 year old son that challenges me everyday and several other devasting family situations have aged me or so I think.

I am looking into getting collagen lip injections. Microdermabrasion would be nice to get rid of that top layer. If I had the extra $ fake boobs would be a must have. hehehe

Puddy, I have heard and researched Avon Becoming. I will have to order some stuff and give it a try.

We are kindred spirits. I am in a similar situation with family obligations. I am in pain all the time and I want botox to erase "pain mask" that has set into my face. This BB is a godsend, it is a warm, loving, witty extended family. Puddy always makes me day better, Ghost intrigues me, Beekeeper inspires me, Notyou teaches me new things and host of other of my cyberfriends keep me sane.

I actually want and need a new nose. It has been broken four times! I am ok with the boobs I am really little and I think any bigger than 32C would make me look like "Morganna the kissing bandit".

I am sorry to hear of your divorce, that is rough. My beau and I broke up last summer and I am still getting over it. We were bestfriends for 20 somethin years and he threw it all away..

I am envious you have son, I always wanted one!!

B.R.
02-10-2005, 05:27 PM
I have only been on this BB for 2 weeks and I totally love it here. MOST of the posters seem cool, a few weird but its a free country.

In 2000 I had about 7 (bad luck #) terrible, devasting things happen to me. And it made me become someone I was not. I was angry, mad, sad and down right miserable. In the last 2 years I have come to terms with different things and I AM BACK NOW.

I have been divorced for 8 years now but to see my ex re-married with a new baby just puts those frown lines deeper into my face!! And I have to smile and grin and put on this front for my son so he is comfortable with the new extended family. My son is my life. I have devoted all my time and energy into making him who he is today. He is smart, friendly, respectful, kind and I love him to pieces. You will be blessed too. I am certain.

20 years and he threw it all away?? One day he will realize and it will be too late. You will have moved on to bigger and better things.

WOW that felt good!! I feel like I am out of the TVTalk Show Closet.

Thank you for your kind words. I am currently living in fantasy land that he misses me and realizes what a HUGE mistake he made. Oh well, I know that isn't that case but fun to think about!

OH HHIgirl, thank you so much for your kind words. You also sound like an incredible woman.

No one knows what the future will hold. None of us have a crystal ball. So we live each day and try to enjoy every moment doing things we enjoy doing, spending time with people we want to spend time with, people that make us smile, shine and be happy. I just would hate to see something pass us by without getting the fair chance!! You never know...... Life can be about dreaming and hoping.....I do it all the time!!

Yeah, it great to know there's other girly girls on this BB just like me. But is it an obession or addiction with lipstick hahaha

Oh, and by the way, since this is a Fran Wilson thread. The entire waiting room of my Doctor's office today wanted to know what lipgloss I was wearing. I had "innocence" and the entire room wanted to "see" the tube! I was a bit freaked out because even the it was my Rheumatologist I didn't know what germies they might be harboring. Then when it was my turn the nurse said that the last 3 patients told her to check out my lips!

Too cool about your lipgloss HHIgirl. I love when people notice my lips and ask what I am wearing. It's an awesome feeling. Or when people can't help but look at your lips. You know their lookin' hehe

I was in Barnes and Noble and found 2 books about lipstick so I had to have them. "A Celebration of the World's Favorite Cosmetic" and "Read My Lips, A Culture History Of Lipstick" I recommend both of them!!! Great stuff!!

I was actually wearing one of the Fran Wilson shea butter lipglosses. The color was "innocence". Thought maybe wearing it would bring back some if "it". LOL. I am actually not of Fran Wilson products. They do not last on me. I received this as Xmas gift. I will not order for myself. It lasts maybe 5 minutes at most.

I am mad crazy about applying lipgoo. I do it before I go into any store. Even if I was only in the first store for a whopping 5 minutes.

HHIgilr, did you ever try Milani products sold in CVS or Walgreens? I think they have fantastic lipsticks and lip glosses. And the colors are very trendy and super shiney lipglosses (get coverage). You should check it out and they are reasonably priced too!

Here is the problem with the CVS and Walgreen's in my area. They are the Drag Queen Emporiums and all the good stuff is always gone! I live in the third highest homosexual population in the US and my friend Miss D just won his/her first pagent! OMG! His crown is gorgeous!!! Anywho, that is why I never get to try to the fun "cheap" stuff. Rimmel just hit here in Ohio and I cannot find that amazing mascara to save my life. Miss D, of course, bought 10 tubes! They actually call him when they stuff comes in and he won't share! Unopened products that is...

B.R.

Congrats to Miss D. I watched a program a few months back about drag queens, damn how do they do it?? Some of them were "hot"! LOL I want a crown too. Will have to get one for my 40th in October hehe

I have seen the Rimmel mascara but its always sold out here too. Lancome Flextentcils, Estee Lauder MagnaScopic and M*A*C Fibre Rich Lash are my faves. Wanted to try M*A*C Zoom Lash but that one too is always sold out.

It is akin to having your hair dyed except it is done to your lashes. Here in stinky Ohio it is only about 15 clams. But I am SO very blessed that my best friend from HS (and partner in crime) is a hairdresser so all my "stuffez" as we call it is FREE!!!!!!!! She even comes to the hospital and does my hair and make up during my frequent incarcerations. I am SO blessed that the few friends that have NEVER left my size are truly living angels. 02-16-2005, 07:55 AM
It is AG! (whooohoooooooo) that I am waiting for at the moment. I have the Pure, but it is not my fave. I started layering them and it is nice effect. I just guess that AG touches my heart somehow and that it is why it is my fave.

I tried the Baby Grace too but I wasn't sure about it. I had the shower gel too and the message on the bottle sort of upset me, so I had to duct tape over it.

I know this is being overly sensitive, but since I cannot have kids and hearing anything about how only having kids will make you whole, it upsets me.

Novalee
02-16-2005, 08:29 AM
HHI, I just stocked up on my AG, so I know why you're excited! I ordered some samples of PG and BG on ebay, so I'm waiting for those. I have a feeling that since I feel SO strongly about AG, I won't care for the others. As for the message upsetting you, that makes me sad. HHI, sorry you're having a bad day, but you know what? I couldn't tell from your posts. That's pretty classy. Also, even when you disagree you aren't mean-spirited. Anyhow, if we all agreed it would be so daggone boring! Hope your day gets better.

Hi Nova, thanks!

I can hide from real life here on the BB! Makes the day more interesting! I am off to watch Season of Gilmore Girls. We ordered it before Xmas and FINALLY showed up today. By the way, they have interesting hidden make up clues in these shows. Usually alluding to MAC or Sephora, as the creator said she wants to be buried in Sephora!!! I agree!!!!!!!!!!!

B.R.
02-16-2005, 03:01 PM
Hidden make-up clues, that's always fun! And if it involves M*A*C and Sephora, count me in. When I go to the mall, I run through Macy's to the cosmetic department then to the M*A*C store and right next door is Sephora.....I am in make-up heaven!!

HHIgirl
02-16-2005, 03:07 PM
I am SO SO envious! We don't even have a MAC store here. We have one tiny Sephora, a C level Nordies and a mid level Sak's. And all those gems are almost an hour from my house! Such a bummer! I so miss living out west!!!

B.R.
02-16-2005, 03:17 PM
And the M*A*C make-up artists are always willing to do your make-up. I always leave with that dramatic-I have an attitude look. I just drool when I go there. I don't know which lipstick to touch first.

HHIgirl

Our MAC artists will hardly answer question with more than two words. They are so not attentive and so unfriendly. Customer Service is an oxymoron here in the rust belt.

B.R.
02-16-2005, 03:38 PM
Oh that's too bad. People who work in retail have to understand be polite, friendly and the customer always is right. LOL There is one make-up artist that actually remembers my name.....haha I guess I go there often!!

Another secret desire - I want to be a make-up artist!! But I would need to go back to school and do I have the time for that?

HHIgirl
02-17-2005, 01:17 AM
Oh my gosh, I know! I was in retail management for over 15 years in my "old life". My staff would get so tired of my diatribes on customer service and just plain old being polite. I actually had to coach some of them to say the magic words. It was unbelievable. One night, for a fun training session, I sat them down and made them watch Gone with the Wind and a few other southern movies so they could see hospitality in action! It was actually a fun night and some of the parents stopped by too! This was when I lived in Newport Beach.

About being a make up artist, GO FOR IT!!!! There are a ton of books on Amazon.com now covering our very fave subject. Kevin Aucoin's book is beautiful and I would love to spring for that someday! My friend, that is the estatician is also a make up artist and she gives me free lessons all the time. Maybe you can fit that into your schedule once a week? I am behind you all the way! Do it, girl!!!!

My friend, that is the estatician is also a make up artist and she gives me free lessons all the time. Maybe you can fit that into your schedule once a week? I am behind you all the way! Do it, girl!!!!

HHIgirl, thanks to you and GENERAL™ I am going to do this. I will start researching on line, tonight. I always do family and friends makeup its time to get out there and expand my horizons!!

I,too, will be glued to the 500. However, I am DYING to go to the ballet. I haven't been in ever so long. I am longing for culture and "pretty" to forget this week ever happened!!!! ( or last year)

dawg
02-20-2005, 05:05 AM
of course you can...I have only been to 1 ballet before. This one has gotten excellant reviews. I am really looking forward to it!

My friend is coming over today because her husband will be glued to the race. We plan on talking make-up and HHIgirl, she wants me to give her a makeover!!!!

BTW, last week when Fran Wilson's lipsticks were on, who is the guest presenting the lipsticks? She is gorgeous!!

No not really...our population is approximately 350,000 and we are about 2 1/2 hrs away from Chicago! As far as the snow goes...we only had about an inch...it can't be all of ours...hehehehehe Where are you located?

Its a "Racy Makeup" kinda day!! lol

HHigirl, I started research some books on line and I also am a Credit Manager for a cosmetic company so I took some workbooks/reference books they give the makeup artist. This might be easier than I think!!

Dawg,
I am in the land of bad taste and rude rude people, Cleveland.

BR! You are right in the middle of make up land!!! You BETTER do it! Or I will have to find out where you live and come paint your eyelids with turquoise eyeshadow. Besides, I am looking to get out of Cleveburg. I have SEVERE cabin fever!

B.R.
02-20-2005, 01:51 PM
Yes HHIgirl, I am in the middle of make-up land and spend alot of my work day over in customer service trying on everything and making recommendation to coworkers about what makeup they should buy. lol

Turquoise shadow.......yikes!! hahaha I am on the artist thing...promise! But, wished you lived closer we could go on a makeup shopping spree at Sephora!!

ps. friend just left. Her makeup looked fantastic! I sent her off with 4 lipsticks I dont use anymore........time for 4 NEW ones!!!!

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 03:02 PM
BR-I would love to go to Sephora with you! I took a now exfriend with me last year for a big spree and it ended up NOT being enjoyable. Such a bummer! Are you allowed to tell us what company for which you work?

Dawg! I am so glad you enjoyed it. I have never seen Sleeping Beauty, the animated film or the ballet. But I do love the music from it.

B.R.
02-20-2005, 03:44 PM
HHIgirl, when a shopping spree turns into a disaster that is not GOOD!
Well, you never know maybe our paths will cross one day and we can get in that trip to Sephora! and MAC and other counters too!! hahaha

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 03:48 PM
I have to be restrained!!! I am crawling through my computer to get to you! Neo, I need the red pill! I LOVE Clarins!! In college I used the thigh cream, self tanning milk and the perfume/uplifting spray! I still haunt that counter once in a while and I don't know why I haven't purchased anything from there lately. I really should! When I was managing Garden Botanika, one of my gals worked at Clarins and she would share her gratis with me. It rocked! Where are you located??

B.R.
02-20-2005, 03:53 PM
LMAO HHIgirl you are killing me once again!!!!

I swear by all the products!! Just got gratis and went with the extra firming line hahaha

I'm in NJ.

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 04:01 PM
My deepest condolensces on your NJ residency!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Gratis! That was one of my fave things from retail land. I used to get GB, Burt's Bees, Bloom, Primal Elements, Elizabeth Arden, Lancome and a few others I cannot recall right now. My bedroom and bathroom was a tiny cosmetics museum!

B.R.
02-20-2005, 04:15 PM
Yep good ole Joisey lol One plus is I can be in Manhattan in 15 mins.....so Madison Ave.....LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! haha

I have so much stuff bottles, jars, tubes everywhere. But I love it!! I have cream for every inch of my body. It takes me hours to get ready.

The self tanning products are the ultimate. I always get the best color from these products. I also love the renew body serum. I spent too much time in the sun when I was younger and have freckles on my decollete area but religious use of this product has made them fade away. All the eye products are wonderful....

What else, what else!?

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 04:19 PM
I have NEVER been to Madison Ave!!!! Can you believe it? I have devoted half my life to fashion and have never made it to the bastion of the best! On The Apprentice the other night when they said their reward was Mikimoto on Madison Ave, I literally had the phone in hand to call 911, my heart was beating through my chest!

I am like you. Easter breaks in Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm and Hilton Head and going to collge out west have done my skin in! My chest and back look like those crazy fabulously nutty old broads in Miami with the big poufy hair, caftans and cats-eye sunglasses on chains, smoking and playing Mah-jong! My family and best friend always warned me about that!

B.R.
02-20-2005, 04:28 PM
LMAO LMAO I have this visual pic of you and I am crying laughing!!

Well, I suggest you get the renew body serum. It really worked for me.

Oh get this, when I was 18 my father bought me a herringbone gold chain, 16", kinda thick. So I never took it off only for a few special occasions. Well a couple months ago I took it off and realized it had left lines and marks where it laid. I have been going nuts with extra firming neck creams 3 times a day to get rid of these lines.....hahaha Scarves are a must have with everything I wear lately. It's the new BR look to have a scarf wrapped around my neck!

Another must have eye revive balm. just came out....I have allergies and sinus problems and my eyes get puffy sometimes. Put this product on lids and under eyes....within hours my eyes looked wonderful....another must have product! I ordered another to keep in my pocketbook.

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 04:32 PM
So it IS true! Every Jersey girls the herringbone chain for their coming out party! We get pearls here! LOL

I have the same mark of which you speak! From all sorts of chains, pendants, gloves of garlic, etc!

That eyecream sounds amazing. I have the same crazy allergy issues and my eyelid skin is getting really thin from all the prednisone. So I need help and fast! I am NEVER going to get another man with all these skin problems. OH wait, they don't look at skin, jsut tits. SHIT! I am at a loss there too! LMAO

B.R.
02-20-2005, 04:42 PM
hahaha

Coming out party in Joisey includes hair spray, tons of makeup, gold chains, red claw nails, mini skirts and high heels and tons of chewing gum......snap snap!

Yeah rack is something I lack too! But you will find someone who appreciates HHIgirl for who she is and not what she looks like...even though I know you are beautiful!

I would give revive eye balm a try too. Go to the counter and ask for some samples. Tell them BR sent you haha

HHIgirl
02-20-2005, 04:53 PM
AHA! You are not BR! You are Drea De Matteo! Hey, were you at the Cleveland "Feast of the Assumption" at Holy Rosary? ALL the Italians from the East flock to our Little Italy for this event! I have never in my entire life heard people talk about being in prison or "the joint" as my cousin carmine cals it, as a badge of honor! UNREAL!

I am making a point of going out of my way and hitting the Clarins counter tomorrow!

B.R.
02-20-2005, 05:16 PM
Actually, I wish I had Drea's body!! But if you think I am her then so be it......snap snap!!

Hey, that little feast sounds like fun. Bet some Dons are there!! haha
Have you ever been to a guido meat market? Thats what we call dance clubs that attract all Italian youngINs men!!! Black gelled hair with the little flip in front, gold chain and tons of cologne......LMAO

We are expected to receive 5-8 inches of snow tomorrow so I'm not sure if I will get out but I have some stuff I want to check out at Sephora. Never made it there Saturday.

Keep me posted on all the samples you get.

HHIgirl
02-21-2005, 03:13 AM
That is so funny about the meat markets! We don't have them here, for so called "real" men here do not dance. They drink beer, watch football and belch. LOL

Our snow finally melted so I might make it to the mall today!

OMG! HHI - you use Wet & Wild #666, too??? I love it and use it almost every day. It is the coolest color and goes with almost every lipstick I have. As for MAC - did anyone purchase the special edition lipstick and lipglass they did for Eddie Izzard? I got it from my mom as a surprise and I'm sad because it's no longer available. :(

B.R.
02-23-2005, 05:13 PM
What color is W&W 666? I might have to give it a try!

HHIgirl
02-24-2005, 02:34 AM
Puddy! I am so thrilled and surprised yet not surprised that you know of my beloved Eddie Izzard!!!! That man(woman? LOL) is TRUE genius! He is on my top 5 of all time comedian/wordsmiths. Oh to spend an afternoon chatting with him about current affairs and make up! Leave it to MAC to make such a wonderful tribute product and I totally missed it. And for years I NEVER missed a "Viva Glam"!

And yes, I am a "666er"! Actually, I have to go on the great belzabub tribute hunt today. My 666 couldn't even pass for a suppository at this point, it is so damn small!

puddy
02-24-2005, 03:34 PM
I KNEW you knew who Eddie Izzard was! I think he is one sexy beast! Woman, get thee to Walgreen's and stock up on 666!

W & W #666 is a color that is sort of pink and sort of brown so like I said, it works really well with most of my lipsticks. Speaking of Drea - that is where I first heard about it. The make up person on The Sopranos uses it! Our little link to stardom....

HHIgirl
02-24-2005, 03:39 PM
Ohhhhhhhh Pastel Pink lipstuff. I am having flashback to the 80's. I had a fave frosty pink lipstick and this Maybelline "Spun Sugar" that was also a quite beloved possession of mine. I know I am to old to sport it now but it brings back memories of first kisses and sneaking boys into my bedroom window!

Tomorrow is Walgreen's day! Heading for the Porcelana and many 666's!

I can't remember how I found about W&W but I have been sporting it for decades now, so it seems! LOL

puddy
02-24-2005, 03:44 PM
Hey, stop it! I remember Spun Sugar, too! My absolute favorite was China Copper by Revlon. I am so into Rimmel though...

HHIgirl
02-24-2005, 03:46 PM
OMG! China was the best nail polish on toes with perfectly tanned legs. Never went to Florida without it!

I was in Walgreen's last night and sure enough a Jessica Simpson display. Shimmer flavored lip gloss is 12 bucks (not the plumping one though) and flavored shimmer body powder, mousse and perfume. Cheaper at Walgreens than on QVC! I suggest getting the caramel or cotton candy gloss!

puddy
02-24-2005, 03:50 PM
Oh - tell me about it! I could not belive the prices! It smelled icky to me though. I'm more of a Poison gal, myself. Or Opium. I should say, "Opiummmmmmm". ;)

B.R.
02-24-2005, 03:55 PM
I don't mind alittle flavored gloss for some fun ;) but caramel or cotton candy perfume......lmao. I like Light Blue, Chance or Bora Bora amongst a list of several other favorites.

02-24-2005, 03:57 PM
HHIgirl....sneaking boys into your window??? hahahaha

HHIgirl
02-24-2005, 03:59 PM
We all know my issue with stuff smelling like food!

For some reason I cannot sport Revlon any longer. Either there secret recipe changed or all the medication I have ingested ( and still ingest) has changed me. Revlon gives me horrible cold sores and the polish won't adhere to my nails. It is a bummer because they have some really pretty shades!

Hey BR! Do you have to have a room added on to your home for your museum of lipsticks? LMAO! And where the heck have you been all day?

puddy
02-24-2005, 03:59 PM
Why are we NOT surprised about the sneaking of young men by HHI?

HHIgirl
02-24-2005, 04:08 PM
My parents never knew and my sister and I only fessed up to it a few years ago. We thought for sure they always knew since Mom was always asking us in the morning why she did we apply our Bonne Bell lip smackers through the night. She could smell them wafting through the house! The other funny thing is ALL my boys ( and honestly most of them were just friends- I am one of the few that graduated HS a virgin) were over 6'2! My best guy friend from then was 6'4~

Well, let me tell you where I've been all day......I cant seem to sign on to the BB at work using my log in?? Don't understand?? Maybe its because I leave my computer on at home?? Anyone out there can you help me?? So I see you guys chatting back and forth but I can't reply. So I come home for lunch and run upstairs really fast and sign on and start answering you guys......hahahhahahah

I don't have a room for lipsticks YET but I do have an entire drawer just for lipsticks, liners and glosses. I will take a pic one day and show you guys. Just got 3 new Clarins lipglosses today!! They are great!!

I am not a fan of Revlon either. I use to wear it (Certainly Red and Exotika) but find I don't get the same coverage as when I use CLARINS!!!!!

"bumping"

I broke down the other day and purchased 2 Fran Wilson's Lip Cremes from a local Harmons Discount SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM. I got Sizzle, a reddish and Spicy, a brownish. I have worn them 3 days in a row now and I still can't decide if I like them or not!!!! The smell is like marshmellows, the consistency kinda cream......but I think its the colors!! Frans colors aren't rich (and dark) like I am use to wearing.

I looked at the display and Spicy was "the darkest brown" of her collection yet is it comparible to Barely Beige I wear from Clarins!!

I guess Fran wasn't thinking of "Jersey chicks" when she created her colors!! haha
