You know, it's no mere coincidence for us that they are doing a new host and new products search simultaneously!

Lisa Robetson is somewhat pretty until she smiles, something about her mouth looks like it is turning inside-out, also way too much eye makeup. Totally unnatural.

Yankee et al,
I'm delighted that you've rekindled our interest in the peachskin ulitmaire toilet paper soon to be a new product in the Susan Graver line, along with her fragrances.

Lisa's mouth does do something weird when she smiles. I think she does that by choice because I can do that, too. It's not pretty, though. She doesn't do it with every smile, either, just when she goes to commercial and she has to hold the smile for a second or two.

I'll give her a break and chalk her eye make up to the need to over apply for the TV lights.

I think that Lisa Robertson is definitely pretty. Her smile...I know what you mean about it sometimes looking a bit weird. Maybe that's her "TV smile." Her eye makeup...that's likely for television too. She probably doesn't wear the same amount of makeup every time she steps out the door. You have to admit she has beautiful eyes and why not make the most of what you have(when you have it :) I say...life is too short.

Obviously, one would wear more makeup for tv, but generally it doesn't look heavy once the lights are on you. Lisa must put that stuff on with a trowel. It's unfortunate because she IS pretty. She looks hard and older than she is. It's like she puts on every line of makeup she raves about............all at once.

There are times I see her on tv and I want to scream "Wash your face, Lisa!!"

I personally think Lisa is beautiful, both inside and out. I have heard hosts and guests, including Cristina Carlino state yesterday that she has to wear more make-up than she desires when she is on air. I also think one of the saddest traits that we as women possess is that of jealousy. Perhaps it is even subconscious at times. But as I look back at high school and college, and through the years, women seem to "bash" those who are prettier and more successful! I have also stated on this Board that we as women are often our own worst enemies!

I am very honest about my opinion of Lisa R. I think she has too much eye makeup, but really I am not jealous at all. In fact, I think she tries too hard to be cool. Some of her cliches are as old as I am (58). If she say "your good to go,"one more time I think I'll scream.Just my humble opinion.

Countrygirl,

I respect your opinion, but as I have also stated in the past, if Lisa or anyone on QVC makes you want to scream, the best solution is don't watch.

Lisa makes me want to scream, too. But, in a very GOOD way....;)

I love Lisa. I too have admitted to having a crush on her. I think the make up thing too is the southern girl thing. All my southern friends wear loads of make up and they would never leave the house without their lips or mascara. What is wrong with trying to look nice all the time?

I agree with Astute. Women are always backstabbing each other. Why don't we want each other to be happy? Why don't we like when another woman looks stunning? I have been the victim of that in the workplace. I am very petite, don't look my age, and I am actually polsyllabic. Go figure. Women would rip me apart. Behind my back and to my face.

In closing as I climb down off the lovely soap box I am become rooted on-cheer for each other, celebrate each other.

LOL Doc!

I think Lisa is gorgeous too.

And I agree with what Astute said, it seems that nobody hates women more than women.

There is no doubt about it -- Lisa is a a striking vision!! Ugly? No. I don't think I would complain if I looked like her. And yes, she does seem pretty nice so I can forgive her anything. BUT I think she is hitting her late thirties and she is starting to look CARTOONISH with all of that make up. Just way to much, way too overdone. All of that make up and effort seems to have the reverse effect ... I think it makes her look much older than she actually is.
Uh and she needs to back off the lip gloss. Her lips are out of control, natural or collagen, they are starting to look rather Daffy Duckish.

SBTZMom<- <- <- <- does not hate women (well, there is one cashier at Steinmart...but I don't think I actually hate her...I just want her to transfer to another store so I don't have to deal...but, that's another story)

I don't think there's a bad looking host (male and female) on QVC. I have my preferences of hosts I like better that others, but it's based on their "on air" personalities, and for some it's actually based on the pitch of their voices.

Saying that I (or we) think that Lisa may wear more makeup than she needs is not a hateful statement. I like and admire Lisa. She's got a fabulous career doing what she loves (seemingly, since I don't know her any more than the rest of us who watch obsessively) and how wonderful is that for anyone, for any woman. She's bright, witty, and if I had to speak nonstop for 4 hours in a row, I, too, would find myself repeating lines.

So, the moral of the story is, just as we need to let Lisa be whoever she is, looking as she does, so do we need to let each other speak our minds freely. If that means making cheeky and perhaps slightly catty remarks, what the heck. It's all in fun. For heaven's sake, this is a website with which I've fallen in love precisely because we can rave on for hours about our silly/secret obsession...QVC! But really, how seriously can we take ourselves, given the subject matter.

I think Lisa is a girlie girl definitely. I wonder how she would look without any makeup? I can't picture her eyes or lips without anything on them. Does anyone notice how she bats her lashes all the time when she talks? Is it because she has so much mascara or eyeshadow on?

I'm secure enough with myself that I am comfortable giving other women their due.......of course Lisa is pretty and she makes me laugh sometimes.......I just wish that she'd maximize her potential, but she strikes me as being lazy.
She has the type of beauty in which she could slick her hair back and still look fabulous........it's always just hanging flat in her eyes and I think it actually takes away from her appearance.......

Just me two cents....

I don't know; it's just my being a stickler for getting names of people, places and things correct, I guess, but.....

Back to the poster of this thread: (still gigglin' at your first post here, Yankee) The host whom we assume you're referring to is
Lisa ROBERTSON!!!!!!

Lisa is pretty.... I think she has to wear all that makeup for television..... I have seen her in my supermarket, and she does not look all "made up" there... she looks good, just not Jazzed up , so to speak.

I'm not jealous of her either - think she can be quite a hoot. But she needs to back off the eyebrow pencil just a tad! Maybe a little more than a tad, actually.

Yeah, I believe that about as much as I believe the suffix of your screen name has no particular meaning. ;)

I think Lisa is incredibly beautiful and she has the sexiest feet of any host on QVC. She obviously takes very good care of her feet. Her French pedicure always looks incredible. When she does jewelry or shoe shows and there are closeups of her feet, I just lose it. I think she knows guys love her feet too and enjoys teasing us with them! They look so soft too, I would do anything to get a footjob from Lisa.
