Did anyone buy bags today? I keep thinking I want one but am sort of a bag snob. I love LV and use my backpack everyday. I am a bag snob and i am trying to overcome it. I see Dooney and TJMaxx all the time and that sort of holds me back. I would like to know what everyone else thinks. Thank you.

OHMIGAWD I *LOVE* D&B! However, I cannot afford them! LV is WAY WAY WAY out of my league! I had a D&B in high school. I begged and begged and BEGGED my parents for it! It was a $300 All Weather Leather large drawstring bag, and I loved it (*They finally gave it to me for Christmas*). I heard that once you buy a D&B bag, if anything happens to it, you can send it back to them and they'll restore it like-new. My bag from high school could use some work. (*The structure of the bag is tip-top - It just needs some surface work*). I got paint on it in my art classes, a couple of little stitches are slightly, slightly frayed, and it needs to be cleaned and polished up. I should sent it bag to be renewed. I'd carry it all over again!

Anyway, I wish I could afford even just ONE of the cute D&B bags on now! I love D&B but I cannot afford them. (*Sigh*)

I am a bag snob too-I have two of the murakami's (in black and white) by lv and it is hard to carry something else after an lv! But they will be my last lv purchase for awhile because they are so expensive. I used to carry DB and I still like them but I don't like that they are made in China. If you compare them to bags made in Italy or France, you can really see the difference. Also, QVC has bags on the lower rung of DB-the ones you will see at discount places. If you really want a DB-check out their website and you may save on sales tax and possibly shipping!

Hm - Late last night / early this morning, they were saying that D&B were made in the USA. Perhaps that is only some of the bags?

Yes-SOME are made in the U.S.-I've noticed most of them(on the QVC and the Dooney websites) say "made in China" ...however I think when they started, and through the 80's, they were all made in the U.S.

I have one D&B "It"bag that I carry when I'm going somewhere special. For everyday, I carry MaxxNY or The Sak.

I am such a hangbag / purse whore. I have WAY too many! And I have total multiple personality disorder when it comes to handbags. I constantly want different looks, so I have tones. I love Nine West, Reaction by Kenneth Cole, and well, anything cute! I usually don't buy names - I usually just buy whatever style I like. And since a lot of times they are sort of trendy or sometimes even REALLY trendy, I usually do not buy expensive bags. I would hate to pay a fortune for something to have it look dated in a few months or even a few years. So, all of my handbags the past few years have been under $40. That way, if I get tired of it, who cares? I paid pennies for it! Besides, when you buy a new purse just because you like it every month, you can't pay too much at a time! :P

rubix cube-I wish I was more like you. I know it's a waste of money to buy trendy bags-but I guess it's just one of my fatal flaws. I love gucci, luella, marc jacobs.. but I've been buying alot of clothes on QVC lately ( great prices!) so I don't feel so guilty about my bag obsession!

I am so like that! I cut corners in some areas so I can splurge in others! I could afford designer handbags if I didn't buy so much jewelry! And ohmigawd on clothes... I love clothes! I buy discount-priced clothes at QVC, Newport News, Ross, TJMaxx, etc., but then sometimes I'll buy expensive boutique designer clothes like Betsey Johnson. (*I *LOVE* Betsey!!!*) And SHOES! Oh! DO I buy SHOES! I am a TOTAL shoe whore! I have SO many pairs of shoes! The most expensive shoes I will let myself buy are Via Spiga, and ONLY in a very classic-not-going-out-of-style-for-a-long-time styles. ALl theother shoes I buy I like to buy cheap (*I'll hunt for the best deal even on Steve Madden's!*), because I just buy SO many shoes!

My closet is OVERFLOWING!!!

So, we each have our thing we spend-spend-spend on!

I guess we need the closet expander (tsv)!!! I feel better now because I have never been able to get excited about shoes. My mom used to laugh because I could have the nicest outfit going-and insist upon wearing old, worn shoes!!! I do, however, like the White Mountain line for summer shoes and have recently purchased alot. I also like the Carlos Santana shoes I got from QVC last week-very good prices, and very comfy.

Hi Yankee,

I haven't posted in awhile, but was interested in a thread about the D&B Bags. I enjoyed your post, and have missed your hilarious comments. I guess some of us aren't as wealthy as others, and if we were, hopefully we would not broadcast it on this public BB. I have never been a fan of "if you have it, flaunt it."

Have a good week!!

Hi Everyone, I am sortof new to this board. I read more than I write. I love bags too. I use to pay so much money for my handbags. LV and Gucci are my 2 favorites. Anyway I want you guys to check out www.fashionknockoffs.com They have some great bags that I saw in NYC last month. They are replicas, but I have ordered 6 of these handbags and other things. You guys will love this site! Let me know what you think of the site. For the money, you can't beat it! Smarty

Ive seen this website(fashion knockoff's.com) but are the bags anything like the originals? Sometimes knockoffs are so bad that it's not worth the small amount of money you spend on them. thanks-LAj

I have never had any trouble with my handbags I have bought at fashionknockoffs.com, (knock on wood) and I have also purchased a backpack and some sunglasses. I know if you are not satisfied you can return it. I just can't see spending hundreds of dollars on bags anymore.
