Hi all,
Couldnt sleep and saw all the posts on Quacker Factory. I bought a gazzilion QF sweaters and jumpers. I am a retired teacher, and the kids loved the themed outfits. I don't buy as many now, because I don't have the need for so many jumpers and cardigans. But I do like J. Bice and her clothes. I don't like the clothes that have sequins all over them. Enough sparkles, already!! I give JB a lot of credit for making her way supporting herself and two kids. Way to go Jeanne!! Oh, and I am not mentally challenged and I take offense to that comment, since I have a son who is. Please don't make comments like that, it offends and hurts feelings.

Hi Bevel,
I happened to see your thread, and thought the comments about someone wearing Quacker Factory being mentally challenged deplorable. I went back to find where the comments were, and they were from 2002. I have been here for the past two months and I have not seen the person who made those comments before, so hopefully that person is not still a part of this group. There is a core group of people who have been here for at least a couple of months who are very sensitive, and at times very funny. There is no excuse for such comments. I have posted before that people should think before they speak and think about who may be reading the post and how comments could be hurtful.
Welcome to the group, and I hope you find some threads that are enjoyable and not hurtful.

Hi, Beve1, "welcome" to you if I haven't already said it. It's such a shame that you came across that post about J.Bice's clothing, who wears it, etc. Rest assured that MOST of the time you won't read what I call simply DOPEY remarks! When a forum is 'invaded' by posters who have nothing to do but submit trash, we do our best to IGNORE. (Unless, of course, the content becomes seriously damaging.)
The poster from which the previous message came is one of my favorites here. She hasn't been posting much lately, so I'm THRILLED to see her back. (YAY, ASTUTE!) She's not only astute, she's eloquent; therefore I wish to say that she speaks for me (and others,I'm sure) in this instance as well.
All the best to you. Congratulations on your retirement! Teachers are truly some of the most under-recognized heroes of this world!!!

Thanks for your understanding comments. I truly appreciate that people deplore those kind of comments. In fact, someone had answered, (I believe the original was by a "Howard")and agreed about it being clothing for mentally challenged people.
Thanks again for being so understanding about those kind of comments. You are really kind hearted people.

Hi, Beve1,
I, too, saw those nasty comments on another thread, about those of us who wear the Quacker Factory clothing. I was offended, too, & then realized that there are a few derogatory, nasty posters on this BB just like there are anywhere else in life. I admire Jeanne greatly, & always find QF items that I love. I have quite a few QF things, & always get compliments when wearing them. I'm not a teacher, but do know that many teachers & their school kids love that line of clothing. I just love bold, dramatic, colorful & pizzazzy clothing, & Jeanne always has something for me! Don't let the negative posters get you down! They must be miserable people & they have to live with themselves!

Hi Sanjoro,
Thanks so much for your kind words. You made me feel lots better. Two other people responded and you "guys" are the best. I love Jeanne clothing too. In fact, Im wearing one of her vests tonight. It's so pretty with intarsia flowers on it. I also like her themed clothing for the holidays. They are happy and fun and I, too, get lots of compliments and "where did you get that."
Thanks again everyone for making me feel lots better.

Hi, Beve1,
Glad I could help make you feel better about this subject. In fact, I have on a QF T-shirt right now - from Jeanne's latest TSV set of 3 embellished T-shirts with matching straw handbag. I have the black T-shirt on with the pretty butterfly on the front. In a few minutes, I'll be hosting a condo social committee meeting here, & wanted to have on a neat, springy top for that meeting of 7 ladies. I'm sure they will all love it & comment on it, & won't think I'm mentally challenged for wearing it!!! Enjoy wearing your pretty vest tonight, & have a good time, wherever you are going!

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted you to know that I, too, truly admire Jeanne Bice and her positive attitude about life.
I'm nearing 50 and have a different style of dressing (and QF clothes don't really fit in with it); yet I must say that seeing others wear them makes me feel a bit lighter hearted.
And they have got to be a teacher's dream. A great conversation starter. Something to be said about being non-intimidating and approachable.

Hi, MareKitty. Liked everything you said. By any chance are you one who likes the Indigo Moon style? That's more along the lines of what I'm drawn to. But I'll bet there's that same inexplicable "spark" and drive within the designer of that line (she may be Ukrainian?) as what kept J. Bice going and going. I've had MANY innovative ideas but don't have that special "thing". Seems so elusive to me.

Hi OC,
Yes, I do like Indigo Moon -- haven't bought any pieces yet, but am intrigued by the designs.
I have to be real careful with bright colors, both in clothing and makeup. Am one of those people whose hair is the same shade as my skin is the same shade as my eyes. In a black and white photo my face appears to be a blur of non-contrast. Well, maybe not that bad, but close. So muted shades work well for me, as does a rich gray, for some reason.
My taste in clothing and makeup is driven in large part to my natural appearance. Assume it's that way for most people.
