View Full Version : Pat on the morning show
I don't think the camera could get any further away from Pat unless it took a bus.

Barbi, As you know, I have answered some of your prior posts, and I don't think it's funny to make fun of people, especially something as awful as what has happened to Pat. Many of us have worked hard to make this BB a place to share constructive information; help each other; and laugh and joke, when appropriate. It is easy to make fun of others, but I wonder how you would feel if people were making fun of you on a public forum.

As discussed before, maybe Pat was in an accident and had an airbag explode in her face?? As for her not mentioning it on air -- could be her lawyer has told her not to discuss the situation. I have always enjoyed Pat and wish her well.

Me too, FOR SURE! But I did get a kick out of sueb's comment about how a camera gets a wide shot! Formed an immediate visual....could've been the 50/50 bus, at that!!!
Thanks Occas-- I'm new to this board, but knew I'd risk a lecture, so I appreciate that you got my joke. I mean Pat no harm, and wish her well, really, and I find with this board that we are equal opportunity commentators--I will just as easily make fun of myself, ( weight, wrinkles, bags and whatever that no amount of Philosophy products will help) as I do a joke at the hosts expense. Pat's transformation is pretty hard to ignore-- she would have been better off to explain it ( airbag thing) or wait till she was healed ( botox/surgery thing) to return. If you couldn't move part of your face and people saw you every day, you'd expect comments and curiousity.

Here is what I found out: Pat supposedly had an accident with an airbag smacking her in the face, causing her to bite through her lip. She had to have plastic surgery to fix things. I'm guessing that's why her lips were so swollen the one day she came back. I think all the feedback she got from returning that one day caused QVC to tell her to take more time off. Personally I dont think Pat would have gone and had plastic surgery done unless something happened to her.
Hosts have said she had a "mishap" and was "on vacation". But I heard her husband worked the whole time she was off the air.

Pat's appearance means a lot to her. And there's nothing wrong with that. For many years, as you all know, she was a catalogue model. This is my humble opinion of her "new" look. She has been dropping subtle clues in the past year about her aging process (I don't know anyone who isn't) but I still think she used to look like Drew Barrymore. She made a remark on one show that she had gone into a hardware store and while there were lots of guys working there, none bothered to help her get a length of wire (or rope) cut. She said, "when I was younger, they'd be chewing through it with their teeth". Which leads me to believe that she was distressed about her looks changing. Yup, I think she had her eyes done as well as her lips. If you can afford it, and you're doing it for you, more power to her! No one likes to see their looks going down the tubes and she's no different.

I hope she's all better soon. It must be a real horror going through this in front of millions of people!! She was always a classy lady and I, for one, have always really liked Pat.
Haven't seen her lately cuz I've been sick & have slept through the morning show (it's on from 4-6 here). I feel for her, however!!
Hi All,
Can someone tell me what those 5 starts next to my original post mean?
Thanks.

Means somebody voted your thread a 5 star thread, I think. Otherwise, I dunno.
I saw Pat this morning for a sec, she looked fine to me. But I was looking through a haze of exhaustion right before I collapsed into bed, so who knows?
(fyi, i work late and sleep late, lol.)

I am a newcomer but it seems Astute and others do not want us taking up valuable space. I thought we were free to express ourselves in honesty and entertaining ways. Some of you people need to not take yourself so seriously. Finding this all too boring.

HEY EVERYONE
Freedom of speech just as the politicians do LOLOL
Seriously, Pat is beautiful and wants to remain that way. I do not blame her one bit esp. when she is viewed by millions everyday.
There is nothing wrong with trying to look good; in fact, I think it's commendable.

Countrygirl,
I don't know what got into everyone, perhaps they really didn't mean anything by what was said.
I don't know what makes someone an "oldtimer". Many of the people posting have only been on the BB a couple of months.
Maybe we will get used to their style and be included also.
They all seem like they are very nice and so much fun - I was caught off guard by the post also. I like to post and really don't want to just lurk. If they hadn't maintained such a neat site - there wouldn't be so many of us newbee's. In a way we are a compliment to them. Many are really fun with a great sense of humor. I'll just wait and see what happens.

When I first saw Pat the morning she returned, my mouth hit the floor. I couldn't believe how different she looked. For those who buy the accident story, go ahead and get a loan for that bridge someone is selling. I even emailed Pat asking if she had a problem or illness. I totally expressed my disbelief in her new look. She replied to me in a very generic email not even acknowledging a change. I emailed again, but got no reply. She is guilty. My thinking is...if you want to have cosmetic surgery, go for it, but don't try to act all pure and natural. Admit it and be proud!

Is it just me or have others noticed that when Pat is introducing a product she seems to scream and get overly passionate about the product. Is this her way to detract from what is going on with her facially?

Well if people dont want to believe the airbag accident, fine but it is what happened and why she had to have work done on her lips and face. She bit through her lip which is why they looked like they did for so long. And it was QVC's idea to say she was on vacation. I was told this by the same source who told me Kim, Paul, Jane and Judy were leaving months before they did...and that turned out to be true.

I totally believe you, Oldenuff. You have the inside track & your source has proven to be very reliable. It's too bad the real story wasn't told from the beginning, but maybe Pat didn't want her accident to be know. Who knows. I had a hard time believing she'd undergo cosmetic surgery on her own since she looked so good, & not at all like she was aging or anything. Anyway, thanks for clearing up all the rumors & rampant speculations that have been going on here for weeks on this subject. I hope it's now finally been put to rest! Let the poor gal get on with her full & final recovery. What an awful thing to have happen, especially to someone who makes her living in front of the camera, & speaking. I wish her well.

She actually is looking better every day so I'm glad it's healing. Anybody who saw it at first (that day that she returned for just one day & disappeared again) will probably notice a DRAMATIC difference! Even when she came back after that it looked kinda bad (and uncomfortable) but as the weeks wear on it is getting MUCH better!
I'm glad for her. This has to have been quite an ordeal!!
The last few days I notice that she can actually smile too.

I saw her earlier in the week and she does look better than when she first got back and MUCH better than when she returned for that one day.
It must be nice for her to be able to smile again.

Okay, oldenuff, you clearly know your stuff! I wish they would have just said that, though. Kind of like when Great Van Susteren had her face lift before going on Fox. Takes all the speculation out of it. And, I am sure people would have wanted to send cards, etc......

Bigfatstel....Greta really does look good, more power to her. She is a very bright woman and if she had surgery to enhance her apearance, she certainly had a good physician, which surely helps God knows.
Many stars in Hollywood routinely get botox injections, why not as
long as it is safe and not harmful.
I would like an extreme make over myself, but am having a hard time figuring where to begin. Maybe I should ask Pam Anderson, hehehehehe......

I do not believe what Rosie said on the view was a racial slur. After seeing her on TV all these years I am sure she did not mean to offend anyone.
She has done alot of work for charities and helping others and is a wonderful parent to her four children.

Please disregard the above post, I got the boards mixed up. Apparently I need to get some sleep.
My apology to anyone who was offended by my miss posting.
