Lisa Roger, I bought Clinique eye cream because I have the same problem with eye creams. That eye cream, and all their products have do not have any perfumes.

I bought Victoria Principle's eye cream and my eyes broke out with a rash and were very itchy. I returned it to the Q, and they paid the return shipping. Hope this info helps

Hi Beve1, Was the eye cream Reclaim? I posted a few days ago on the Beauty Products thread that the skin around my eyes turned green. It looked like I had been in a fight. I wasn't sure if I was having an allergic reaction to the Reclaim or that I may have inadvertently mixed different lines like for instance Dr. Denesse with Reclaim?

Hi Desi,
Yes it was the Reclaim product. In fact, it was the TSV that day and it came with other products. I didnt try the others because the rash happened with the first usage.

I bought Clinique at the mall, and not only did it work great, but it cleared up the rash and stopped the itching. All the Clinique products are perfume free.

Hope this info helps.

Hi Beve1, Thanks for the info. I didn't know what to think. I'll try Clinique instead.

Desi, Glad I was able to help and I hope that the Clinique works for you, as it is a bit expensive. Please let me know if you use it.

I have the allergy problem too. The Body Shop has an eye gel that is fragrance free and mostly natural and it didn't cause any problems. I think it is only 9.95 and you just a tiny bit.

hey HHIgirl - Is "The Body Shop" a name of a line of cosmetics? I never heard of it. Where would I find it?

Beve1

Body Shop? Can I get mine fixed there? Or is it just for cars?

I hever heard of it, but if it's for human bodies, Im there.

The Body Shop is an all natural, environmental friendly cosmetics, bath, perfume boutique. They have a website. Bodyshop.com. They are in most major malls throughout America.

HHIGirl, Unfortunately where I live there are no major malls, and I am 5 hours away from any.

However, I will check it out online. Thanks for the info.

Wow, where in New York are you? I think it would be kind of nice to live where there are no major malls. I would love to live in a small town. I am tired of city living. In fact, here is another life long secret I will now share (my other one was wanting to be in the Miss America pagent-that is embedded in some thread around here someplace). I have always wanted to live on "Walton's Mountain" in that very house! Can you say "Jen is a big nerd"? LOL

Hi Jen,
You would love it here. It's western NY State, the Finger Lakes Region. We have a mall that stinks. Don't know if you ever heard of The Bon Ton or Kaufmanns...those are the anchor stores. JCPenney and Sears are the other two. The clothing stinks too, and that's why QVC offers some stylish items I cannot get here.

I used to live down near NYC, and that was wonderful for shopping and eating. The restaurants here are lousy too. Boy Im a nellie negative tonight.

Just on the positve side that you would love, is that the area is gorgeous. The mountains and lakes are lovely. Dinner cruises go up and down the Lakes in the summer. The town I live in is very small, friendly people, but I miss the city.

Speaking of all nautural beauty stores, does anyone frequent Aveda? I am an addict! I'd be so thrilled if they came to QVC!

I love the finger lakes. My beau's family used to have a house at Finley lake. On our way to Watkins Glen we used to stop at the finger lakes. It is so peaceful. I am very familiar with Kauffman's. We have that here too and it sucks monkey toes.

How exciting that you lived in NYC. I have yet to be there. I have been to almost every big city in the country except that one. And I used to spend a lot of time in New York but never made it there.

That's so neat that you know this area. It is really beautiful, and lots of rural areas. I love the lakes, and the restaurants at the wineries are terrific. I just miss the excitement of the Big Apple.
If you ever get there, let me know...Ill meet ya, show you around. It's a fabulous city, so much to do, b'way shows, restaurants, shopping.

Kaufmanns is sucky. The clothing is about 15 years behind the times.
It's better than the Bon Ton, but that's not saying much. I shop the Q a lot, and catalogues like Coldwater Creek.

There is a restaurant in Watkins, if you ever get there again, called the Grapevine, and let me know if you come here!

Dear Miss Beve, that is a date! That would be so fabu to be shown around NYC by someone that knows all the good places. And we know that restaurant in Watkins. We used to go up there every August for the NASCAR race (surprise, surprise). lol

Those wineries are great. And upstate NY is truly spectacular.

My son loves the Nascar races. His room is decorated with that theme, and some of it came from the Q.

If you ever come here for a race, do let me know. What a kick that would be to meet a fellow postee.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio. Actually Lakewood right outside of Cleveburg on Lake Erie. I would love to met everyone in person. I have become so codependent on everyone in such a short time. It would be great if we could all meet at Studio Park. We could drive them all batty or battier! lol

Hey Karen, I just saw your post about Aveda. I like it too and I am fortunate that my best friend from High School is a beautician and hooks me up with product all the time!

Beve1

I am trying to plan a trip to Studio Park with a friend. I hope we can do it in the late summer early fall.

What a hoot it would be if some of the people from here went too.

HHIgirl

I don't think they could contain us. As funny as we are all on here, we would be even goofier in person. The laughter would never stop! Wow, that would be healing for lots of us, especially Judy (Astute).
Have you ever visited Studio Park before?

Beve1

Hi Jen,
No, Ive never been to Studio Park, but would love love love to go.

Would also be fun to be there at a live studio audience presentation.

HHIgirl and Beve1....Don't mean to interupt but if you two ever plan on going to studio park, please let me know, I live about 10 minutes from there. There's a gigantic mall here called the King of Prussia Mall, where Lisa Robertson, Judy Crowell, Kathy Levine, Lena and the breezies lady have been spotted frequently. Some of the Department stores range from Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom to JC Penny and Sears. There's even a Cheesecake Factory.

Valley Forge National Park (Rev. war encampment)and museum is minutes from there as well. My husband and son are into that sort of thing. I like this century and stick to what I do best...shopping.

Hi desi! I just wanted to say that the King of Prussia mall sounds really nice. We have a JCPenney here, but not a Strawbridge's or Neiman Marcus. Sounds like you can hit a bigger mall and the real QVC by going to PA and not Mall of America.

Hi Desi,
You got a standing invite to join us, especially since you know the area. I believe I am about 4-5 hours from King Of Prussia. I have heard it's worth the trip. A friend of mine from my area is interested in visiting QVC, and I really want to go.

We don't have decent stores or restaurants in this area. I have heard lots about the Cheese Cake Factory, but have never been to one.

desi, your are on! Studio Park i do believe is a good 8 hours from my house. But it would sure be fun to go. We used to travel a lot more when we had another life, but this new one has curtailed a lot of things for us. Oh well, can't mourn that loss. Gotta learn to like this new life, accept it and move on.

Shopfan, how long ago? I absolutely loathe Lakewood. I grew up in Bay Village, Ohio home of the Sam Shepard murder. Lovely hamlet. One mile by 7 withmost of it on the lake shore. There is not one spot in Bay that you cannot make it the beach in more than 4 blocks. And everyone knows everyone and you can't get away with anything. Yet, I miss it. Nutty, huh? And what happened to that young man? Now I am intrigued!

HHI Girl,

What products do you use? I mostly use the color cosmetics, but I've given up on the foundation for now... I'm a Lip Saver addict. I bought 6 the other day!

HHIgirl
05-07-2004, 07:55 AM
Glory be! I am missing out on something? What is Lip Savers? Do tell! I am waiting with baited breath for the answer.

I am the quintessential Philosophy girl. I don't use foundation either. Nothing can cover my redness and rash. I use Smashbox, BE, Chanel and Burt's Bee's lipstuff. I am actually a lipstick junky and have some from almost every line except SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM make up. I freely admit I am a make up snob. I have also discovered recently that I am a perfume whore. I keep my stinks in my fridge and my cleaning lady just counted and there are 15 in there! Yikes!!!!

HHIGirl,

LipSaver is a lip balm with SPF that moisturizes like no other (even Philosophy Kiss Me, I swear!). I like to put it on at night and in the morning after I get out of the shower. It's very thick and rich, and stays on all night, and literally, saves your lips. I've been known to delay vacation departure times to run to Aveda and stock up if I think I'm going to run low... Mostly though, it's the only thing that made my lips better during my 2 courses of Accutane. I even wore lipstick a couple times during Accutane when I used LipSaver. It's wonderful and I stash them EVERYWHERE!
