View Full Version : Our Astute (Judy) is ill...

Hi everyone; some of the real newbies won't know who "Astute" is, but alot of folks here do. For those of you who don't, I hope you'll get the opportunity to get to know her via this bb when she feels better.

HHIgirl, that was incredibly thoughtful of you to start the thread for Sittin'n, Astute and me. It's almost eerie that apparently when you wrote that, Judy was "absent" due to a relapse. I'm sharing with you from an email she wrote to me today:

"I have had a 'flare-up' of my illness and can't eat or sleep. That is why I have not posted or kept in touch.
Could I please impose on you to let the BB folks know that I am sick and thank whomever wrote the thread asking about me how grateful I am, and that I will be back." **

Forwarding this message was in NO WAY an imposition for me, guys!!! I trust that you'll do what you all do BEST: to send positive thoughts and prayers along for Astute (Judy) to recover and get her energy back!!! She's also dealing with her aging (and ill) parents, so she truly needs your prayers. Love and hugs to all, "oc" (Diane)

**I'll tell her specifically who've asked about her...guess she wasn't able to read them herself.

Dearest Astute,
You will be in my prayers for as long as needed!! Please allow yourself the rest you need to recover. I've been kinda out of the loop here lately, so I'm not sure what illness you're going through, but whatever it is, I pray it passes soon. Be well, my friend.

Dear Judy, I hope you're not having a Crohn's flare,
but if you are take your meds, rest, and you will get
better. I've been there, and it's no picnic. Good luck!

I did notice that after she said, "Gentleman and scholar" she said "there aren't many of us left". Maybe she meant gentle lady in the most complimentary way??

Astute, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. I hope the recovery is a speedy one. It sounds like you have also had your hands full with family situations. I know what that is like and wish you the best.

Astute, listen carefully (i'd say close your eyes and listen but then you couldn't read this.) listen not with your ears but your heart....do you hear all those whispers of "feel better, rest, focus on you and your needs"? those are all of us here on the BB thinking of you, praying for you, sending out good karma to you. draw on that strength and be well (now you hear that annoying little "bling" sound of the fairy wand on Kirk's Follys when something sells out....)

Hi SweetM,
Are u from the Big Apple? Im originally from NYC, and how I do miss living there. The vibrancy and excitement I feel when I visit fills a void. I was down a few weeks ago, and wished I could have stayed a whole lot longer.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

I just read the wonderful, kind, caring posts that you wrote. I am speechless, not because I don't feel well, but because of the kindness and genuine concern you communicated. I wish I had read the posts earlier, as the power of friendship is amazing.

I will be back as soon as I am feeling better. For those of you who are new and wrote me the kind words, I very much appreciate it. For you S.A.G. Ladies, I MISS you, and Cass, you are an honorary member!

OC, how thoughtful of you to start this thread, but I am not surprised.

Take care,

Astute

Hi, Astute.

The Quakers have a wonderful way of expressing their care and concern for someone. They say, "I will hold you in the light."

I will hold you in the light, Astute.

Hi Denim&Co.,

I feel a little better, and was really missing the BB. I am SO glad that you are online. I just started a thread asking what has happened to our BB? I won't repeat myself, but the majority of new threads and posts are so disappointing.

I hope that the S.A.G. ladies, Casanova, etc. are still around.

Thank you for the very nice message.
