Wow! That is fantastic!! I have a suggestion - for those that chose not to give out their real name - how about if they tell us their gender so we don't have to guess. It is hard to imagine if they are male or female from their user name. Just an idea....wheezie

Thanks, you guys, for the kind words! I truly love to do that sort of "knit-picky" detailed stuff. I thrive on it! I had it lined up better - with everything about a person all on one line, but it didn't show up that way on the BB. Sorry about that. Wish I could have thought of a better way to do it, with the names in bold type, & spaces between each name, etc. That might not have fit in one posting, though. Anyway, I hope more people will add their personal info so we can fill in blanks, & add to this Directory.
msbdoodle (Wheezie), I love your idea of having people at least tell us their gender. That would certainly help!! There is one first name not listed that I do know, but had promised not to reveal it, so I didn't. She knows who she is! If anyone has corrections, please don't hesitate to let me know. I don't pretend to be perfect by any means!
Hope this helps everyone out there in cyberspace!!

Not married, but since I am a teacher I have about 175 kids a year for 10 months.

Thanks, Momof2, Dogma, poodle, & UPSBuddy, for your kind words. I truly enjoyed putting all this info together, & hope to collect more. I used what I'd read about each person, either on the "personal info" thread, or else on other threads. Dogma, I guess I read in one of your posts that you rescue dogs, so that's why I listed it. Must not have mentioned your "real" day job, or else I would have put it down, too. Thanks for sharing more facts with us, Dogma & UPSBuddy. Now if we could just get more people to do the same!! I'm still hopeful! Maybe HHIgirl (Jen) will have a more comprehensive & complete directory than what I posted, but it's at least a good start!
UPSBuddy (Janet), I can totally relate to what you wrote about loving Chelsea beyond distraction, as that's how my husband & I are about our 13-year-old all white "love of our lives" kitty, Nikki. I wish I could turn back the clock at least 10 years for her. I'm sure you understand that sentiment!

Hi, Desi, (Deb)
I've been replying to you on other threads, & just read your note on this one. Thanks so much for your kind words. I truly love to do this type of project, so it was nothing but fun for me. Wish it could be more complete, but I had to go with the info I had. Since I put it on a thread last night, there have been a few more people sharing their personal date, or adding to what I had listed. So, I hope everyone is updating their own directory now!
Regarding Howard, I share your sentiment! I thought that same thing when typing the entire directory. Howard? Howard who? He didn't share anything but the type of stuff none of us want to read, so I figured he didn't want to be in the directory anyway!
Time to get to bed. Nice interacting with you tonight!

Thanks for your kind words, Momtoboys. I just wish more posters would share their info with the rest of us. There are still lots of user names I see as being online at any given time, many of whom have not shared with us. Maybe they don't want to - I don't know. I keep monitoring this thread as well as the "Personal Information" thread, to see if anyone else has shared their data, but it doesn't seem to be happening. Too bad.

My name is Cristy, Live in missouri, went to college in Chicago 5 years, lived in NC five years, one daughter, she is 5. I am unmarried and 32. Have 2 environmental engineering degrees and looking for work. Have a lovable boxer named Sully. The kid is taking guitar lessons cause she says she is going to be a bigger star than Toby Keith. I am learning about guitar now, too.

05-11-2004, 03:16 AM
Yep, so far my 2 engineering degrees are not paying off, so off to the lessons with her guitar. She is doing well, and her teacher is very excited about her "natural" talent. So, since she tells me that she will build me a big fancy house, I am paying for lessons and we'll see how far she goes. She has been interested since she was 3, and I have never owned a guitar or played, or even had one around the house. So this is her thing, but she is my little star, and maybe she'll shine REAL big.

when they take an interest in something at that age, it usually turns out to be something really special. how often we hear some superstar say in an interview that they've been playing since early childhood. you just may have a future superstar there! (i'm sure at home, she already IS a superstar!)

Nice to meet you Cristy, and keep up the guitar lessons with your child prodigy. I have a 17 year old son who LOVES playing the guitar even though there's not a musical bone in anybody else's body in the family - go figure! He started teaching himself at 13 and for the last couple of years has belonged to a little garage band. They call themselves "Nearly Distant" - isn't that just so deep? LOL! I'm anxious to see what direction he takes in life since music and football are his two biggest passions, but he is also brilliant at math and art, so who knows? I've been "gently suggesting" architecture for a few years now to combine the art and math talents, but that's all up to him. Your daughter sounds great!

Hi, Doc Love!
There have been quite a few additions since I posted that directory. I'll have to get them together & post an addendum. I was hoping everyone who wanted the directory was making their own notes of additions & updates, but I'll go ahead & organize it & start an "Addendum" thread with that info. I'm not sure when I'll get to it - maybe yet tonight, who knows. American Idol & "24" are on tonight, so I'll be in front of the tube quite a bit. Please watch for it to appear soon though! Thanks for your interest!! I hope all this "organizational" work qualifies me to be a member of SAG!!

Hi Sandi - if you're re-doing I do not have any 2 legged "grandchildren". I have 3 grown children that haven't gotten around to that yet...darn it! But my daughter adopted a dalmation from the rescue society - reason for free things. His name is Domino and although he's a problem in about 50 different areas I adore him. Of course daughter left home and couldn't take dog - now I wouldn't let her! Same daughter left behind 3 cats but sadly we're down to one - Old Man. SF Bay area cat - has FIV - he's been both a lover and a fighter. Anyone wants information on almost anything that can be purchased from QVC - ask me....I don't think there's an area that I haven't bought anything from. You're fantastic!!!!

Hi, TURTLELADY!
I'm so sorry that I listed you has having 3 grandkids! I just re-read my notes, & I see now that my scrawling says "3 grown kids". You must have wondered what I'd been smoking to write what I did about you. Again, I'm so sorry to have gotten that data wrong. Makes me crazy with myself to goof it up, & I'm glad you corrected the info!! Thanks!! Hope everyone who reads this post will change their directory, too, & I will make that change when I do the addendum. Since we lost power due to a bad storm tonight, I just got back online, so don't know if I'll have time to do the addendum tonight. If not, I'll do it soon - I promise! Also, I'm sooooo happy that you have some 4-legged "kids" around your home. I couldn't live without mine!!
By the way, thanks so much for calling me "fantastic". I'm not so sure that applies, but I do love to do picky, detail work - the type of thing that many people hate to do. So, this directory stuff is right up my alley!!
Take care, Elsie!

You don't see anything except a box with their name in it....we started doing it the other day....it's great...do it! Alpha is a woman and she obviously has major mental problems. Thanks so much, TURTLELADY (Elsie), for your concern for me. It's so nice to know someone on this BB cares!!
Thanks also for the reminder about the ignore list. I just did what you suggested, & put 4 names on my list - the 3 you mentioned, plus "watching". Gosh, I had no idea Alpha was a woman. Figured that person must be a man. Disturbed, definitely!!! I had read that "What Happened to our BB" thread, so knew lots of you had used the "ignore" feature already. I just hadn't done it yet, but now I've joined the rest of you who will have nice, pleasant posts ONLY to read, & not that perverted crap.

Sandi, I think there are a lot of people that care about you on this BB. I just think that sometimes 2 or 3 people "bond" over certain posts and then tend to forget about others. I also think it has a lot to do with "when" people are on the board. I'm in and out where as others seem to be on for long blocks of time. I'm happy that I have my e-mail feature working again so I look at the ones that come in and a couple of times a day I check the overall board to see what's new...but I don't have the chatting back and forth thing down at all! Hope you are well and that nothing is wrong in your world!

Hi again, TURTLELADY (Elsie)!
Thanks again for the kind words! Makes me feel great! Don't worry - nothing is wrong in my world, other than too much rain lately. I didn't mean to sound whiny on my previous post, but in re-reading it, that's sort of how it came off. It wasn't intentional. I do know that some of the BB posters are close with one another, & post all the time, etc. & that's to be expected. I was just pleased at your previous expression of concern for me. That was a pleasant surprise! I don't spend nearly the amount of time on the BB that some do, but I do check in a couple times or so a day, especially when I get the emails about another post/reply to a thread I posted on. That's a nice feature of this BB.
I hope you are having a great Friday out in sunny California. I'd love to send you some of this constant rain! We are supposed to have a dry weekend after today, so that will be nice. We have lots going on this weekend, so don't know how much time I'll have for the BB. I may not get to the Directory Addendum until next week sometime, but I will do it!!

Have a good, dry weekend, Sandi! Yes, it is sunny. We've had lots of wind and not as much rain this year so it is drying things out too fast. Lived with our 3 small children during the drought 1976,77 - ugh - never "flushing" and recycling water for everything! Would like a little more rain. We live next to open space and the hill is already golden - some would call it brown - but to me it is still golden.

Thanks, Elsie! Wish I could bottle up some of this water & send it your way. We are having floods in certain areas, but not as bad as other states. My yard & garden have greened up so much, & are lush with foliage & loads of buds on things. Should be a great spring/summer for gardeners here in west Michigan. Can't wait for everything to burst into beautiful colors! It's so green everywhere around here right now that you'd think this was Ireland! HA!
The drought you lived through sounds really horrible! We are so dependent on things like water, electricity, etc. & don't realize it until we have to go without for a while. Gives us a much different appreciation & perspective!
Take care, & have a great weekend yourself.

I may be remiss in not having responded to this "directory" before, but I have not been posting for a few days, and just came across it. I echo what Denim&Co. said that not everyone wants their personal information released on a public BB. I did not repond to either thread requesting personal information for a reason, which is that I did not want to be included in any type of list or directory. And I certainly don't want to be known as one who has an illness. I have reluctantly discussed my illness with those I thought needed to know, and in particular, with those I thought information on my illness might of assistance or comforting. It is very hurtful to be "labeled" as "Judy, has dogs, has illness." Those may be not be the exact words, but close enough.
Please do not include me in anymore of these lists. As a suggestion, do not include those who did not respond to either of the "request for personal information" threads, without their prior permission.

Sanjoro-Sandi, I give you my permission to use any information you have on me...illness, stupidity, etc. I know that you have started this thread and compiled the information to assist those of us who may not be able to keep things straight and may also not figure in the list of top ten posters or whatever. I also realize that you picked up information on all of us from other threads where it was visible for anyone to see and respond to in any way. I am not only grateful for prayers and concern during times of trouble but also for sharing and knowing more about people who could be considered friends...and like friends they all have warts as big as our own...more than any philosophy or be product can take care of! If we don't want our information shared, we could send you a private message, as I believe one person did, asking you to keep it private.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, TURTLELADY (Elsie), for your kind words of support! I never expected to have someone get upset with the directory I compiled. You stated my exact sentiments about the whole project. However, I also never intended for anyone at all to get hurt over the project either! It didn't even cross my mind that such a thing might happen. For that, I feel very badly. Due to this happening, I have to rethink my promise to do an addendum to make corrections & additions. I'm feeling a bit gun-shy now, so I think everyone interested will have to re-read the Personal Information thread, as well as this one, & make their own updates. It took me lots of time to do the directory, & I really don't feel like spending any more time on the addendum knowing that not everyone wants something like this published. To those who shared their info after I did the directory, I'm sorry I didn't get you included, but we'll have to hope that all interested BB readers will add you to their own copy for future reference. I do appreciate the kind words of thanks many of you have expressed. Please know my heart was in the right place & my intentions were honorable, even if some people didn't appreciate what I did. Guess it's now time for me to lie low for a while.

Sandi, You didn't do anything wrong. I don't really understand why everyone is so upset. I really would like to understand. Maybe none of us should have given information, I just wanted to feel closer to everyone and get to know them. Like - long distance friends.... If you don't want to be contacted or your privacy to be invaded - just set up an extra email address at Yahoo or someplace like that. You can get rid of it or change it, if something unusual happens and you need to disconnect from the problem. Make any sense? Someoone help me to understand if I'm not making sense.

msdoole, YOU are making perfect sense. I'm sorry that Sanjoro took the ONE post to heart. From reading the entire thread it seems that the majority of people were delighted at sharing the information and appreciated the time and effort put into compiling the list. You can get a different e-mail address and we aren't even sharing at that level. If I were that intimidated by the list I don't think I would share personal information under any thread. There's a lot of anonymnity involved in the whole thing and who can tell if anything anyone posts about themselves is the truth. Maybe I'm Bob Bowerstock, or Christa, or one of the Lisas just playing a game. I'm not...I get a lot of benefit from this board and I don't think we should be hurtful to each other.

05-16-2004, 03:28 PM
relax, everyone...sandi...you did a nice thing to try to be of service and friendship to us all, and we really appreciate your efforts...some of us just want to maintain our anonymity for reasons that are nobody's business but our own...granted, we shouldn't chastise you (sandi) for your efforts, but should just voice our wishes to remain anonymous and not make any information available under any circumstance that we don't want repeated or replicated.
if i don't want my name published, and you don't mind yours being published, that's fine for both of us. let's all just stop being so hyper-sensitive and turning on each other needlessly. this gets so exhausting! too bad we all can't just PMS the same days every month! then, we'd just close the board for maintenance and nobody would miss anything, nobody would feel left out, and nobody would snipe at anyone...in a perfect world...
sandi...if you would like to revise that list of yours, please just heed the objections of those who don't want to participate, and include those who don't object. then, everyone will be more appreciative. and if they're not, you tell me and i'll take care of 'em! i'm bigger than they are anyway!

I don't want Astute to leave. I really was just asking a question and I was serious when I said that maybe none of us should have given information. I also think that no one was intending to hurt anyone. I know sometimes I post a bunch, but everytime I hit send I wonder if I accidently stated something in a manner that will be misunderstood. I don't even know what health concerns Astute has and I don't think of her that way. I think of her as fun, humorous and interesting. I have health issues - many of us do. Mine may not be serious right now but there have been times when they were. Astute (you don't have to answer this - I would never want to hurt you or anyone here) I am sorry from the bottom of my heart if I hurt you. Sincerely, Louise

i also feel compelled to reply to this....anything posted on any of these threads is public. For someone to take what has already been posted and re-format it is in no way any type of label or invasion...while i love the sharing atmosphere of this bb, sometimes I do wonder if people remember that it is all out there for who ever to do with what ever they like....so, the list Sandi is making is helpful for many, that is a good thing.

Well don't go feeling too bad anybody cause I didn't even MAKE IT ON the list..lol....I thought I had left my info?? Hmmm maybe I didn't or it was on a different thread. I have not posted here a whole lot but I read quite often and then if something catches my interest or I believe I might be of help, or if I have a question, then I post. So what info do we need to leave?
I am fairly new here but Love love love this board! Am I catching on?! :) This board and is so fun and informative!

Well, this is the first time I've been to this thread so now I see what the hubbub is! I never came to the thread because I like to keep myself kinda private (shy and all that) so I was not going to participate. It was nothing personal. I really am kind of shy and I just got here recently. I see my name is on the list anyway (?). No biggie. I'm fine with just being known as spooie, however.
I'm just who I am and that's all. The life details don't necessarily need to become a part of the, IMO. I think people can tell what I'm like from my posts. Every place on the internet I go, while I don't have this ID, I'm the same exact person - Slightly opinionated, helpful, inquisitive, animal lover, NOT into kids, and interested in reading the many points of view of the crowd. Some people like me...some people don't. I get along with most everybody. If I don't like 'em, I just stay away from them. Can't stand TROLLS (so don't bother responding cuz you're all on ignore!). I live a very peaceful, boring life and I like it that way. :)

Okay, it's time I spoke up. Im one of the elders on these boards, and this is what I think, in my humble opinion.
As far as the personal info directory, I thought it was a neat idea. Everyone had the option to share or not to share. That was the question. I believe that Sandi(Sanjoro) stated that from the get go.
If you wanted to be included, it was your decision to do so. Sandi did a great job, and I refer to it often when I post something. It's nice to know someone's first name. I personally had no problem telling about myself. What you see is what you get, here or in my real life. However, if someone chose not to share, that's okay too.
Everything here is accepted, except what trolls have to say.
In fact I have discovered I have many things in common with people here, and I would not have known that if not for the directory. So, if you want to share that's great, and if not, that's great too, and we can respect whatever someone's decision is.
Let's keep up with the fun and laughter fellow postees!!

05-16-2004, 05:14 PM
I don't have an issue, but if I were to take issue it would be that I did NOT post my personal info IN THE THREAD that the gathering was to take place. I specifically ignored that thread. Again, nothing AT ALL personal. I just am fairly new and didn't want to become a part of a directory so I didn't participate. I've been around awhile and once I participated in a private forum where I got royally screwed because somebody accused me of something I knew nothing about and I got burned bad. From then on I rarely share much personal info in a public place. It's just me.
OTOH, and this is why I don't take issue with any of this, I fully realize that there was no harm meant in any of this so please don't take me wrong. Please!

spooie...you're just fine...i respect your privacy...in fact, i prefer not to give my name for the same type of reason...
here's my platinum-clad epiphany...we don't seem to understand here that we can disagree with each other and we don't have to attack each other in the process of disagreeing. also, when we DO disagree, it doesn't mean we ARE attacking anyone with an opposing view. many of us are guilty of reading between the lines, but just as many are guilty of writing between the lines.
also, many of us say things trying to lighten the mood, but many others get deliberately nasty for no good reason. i can voice support for sandi's efforts without trying to sound like i oppose judy. can't we all give it a try? believe it or not, it's called being an 'adult', though some of you may call it 'wishy washy'.
this isn't a courtroom. there's no law that says we have to take sides all the time. a little understanding goes a long way, people! and compassion is boundless!

Yankee, you're so right. I know I came off harsh in my defense of Sandi. I WAS reading between the lines of a post she had made a couple of days ago. It's hard having a discussion in writing - as opposed to face to face. Things said in a group face to face can be ignored or put into a different context depending on body language or facial expressions. Don't really mean ignored like ignoring the trolls but more like "going over the head". I had watched this site for a couple of months and was ready to join at one point but then there was a problem like this one between a few people....all nice people but just something that got blown way over proportion. I stayed away for another few weeks. Sorry for adding fuel to the fire.

I could not agree more with you Beve...what you see is what you get has been my style of life management for many years now...it's just easier for me that way.
I think Sandi did a great job of journaling and compiling what everyone had said on past threads. It's obvious she meant no malice in what she said/wrote! If I said too much on this BB, I have no one to point a finger at except me, as my typing fingers do not have a mind of their own (yet!)
I, too, have found common bonds with folks...profession, political views, spiritual beliefs, QVC products, home decor preferences etc. Lots of our discusssions do not take place on the BB, but through e-mails and IMs, and maybe that's why I have, thus far, been able to avoid hurt feelings 99% of the time. The other 1% I just shake off....again, no one forces me to post on here.
I have expressed before, that many things do not translate well in "type"...you can not see facial expressions, body language, or hear voice inflections....therefore it is sometimes hard to know exactly what the intenet of the typed word or phrase was.
I will continue to post, as time permits, and I hope, if I offend anyone, or anyone takes issue with "my words" they will let my know on the BB, or in a PM, or an e-mail (for those of you that have my address), and we will work it out.
With a few obvious exceptions, everyone on this board is wonderful and unique, and that's why I enjoy coming here!
This is my opinion, and I approved it...have a good week all :)

Okay, let me get this correct. It seems that Sanjoro inadvertently included Astute in the personal directory. Correct? If so, it was not meant with any malice, we all know that. Secondly, I read that Astute was saying she was being "labeled" as the person with an illness with a dog.
Let's put this in perspective. I have never felt I was labeled since sharing my personal info. No one has ever referred to me as the person with a retarded son who also has a dog. I have always felt respected here, even in the short time since joining. I am sorry Astute felt that way, but I for one never gave anyone here a label.
Unless it came from the trolls, the people I converse with would not stoop that low.
Now, Astute, somewhere along the path of your conversations you must have shared some personal info, and it was shared with the rest of the group. Trust me when I tell you that everyone here would never think of you in those terms. I hope you read this, and know that we would never want you to leave under these conditions. No one meant any harm, and Sanjoro, I can tell, just feels terrible.
Please don't leave over a misunderstanding. I hope you read the other posts here, and know that you are loved and will certainly be missed. When the post appeared that you were ill, my first thought was to wish you well and pray. It never crossed my mind to think of you in any other terms. In fact, I think it was a very thoughtful act, that it was shared you werent feeling well, so that prayers could be said.
I, being an elder of the group, do have wisdom of years. Please, as my Mom used to say "don't cut your nose to spite your face". In other words, don't let this minor conflict keep you from enjoying being here.
We will miss you, hope you read this and come back very soon. Be well, G-d willing.

Hi, desi & OC & Beve! Thanks so much for asking about me, & being concerned. I greatly appreciate it!! I've been reading, but as you noticed, not posting lately. Never in a million years would I want what my fingers write to bother, hurt, or upset anyone. So, I've been letting them cool off a bit. Hi Sandi!
Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate it. Wasn't part of the chat this past weekend, but posted on the "other one" to stop acting highschoolish and move on. I don't know you, but I know there was no harm intended, and I am opinionated, so there! Hell, in high school, I had my own column "of personal opinion" in our newspaper, and it's only gotten worse with age!
Put me in your directory, okay? I have found it helpful looking up the people who are being so nice to me--it's easier to kind of put a face with a name.
Here's my vitals--Big fat Stella is actually my HUGE cat--it's in honor of her. I am really Kinda Fat Joyce! I live in Wisconsin, have a husband and stepson. I am 36, animal rights whacko, have 2 German Shepherds, Klaus and Ava, four cats, the aforementioned Stel, Rasper, Toonces, and Peanut (who I just STOLE from a neglectful home!), and three koi ponds. The koi have names, but I won't bore you with that! I do pottery, watercolor, jewelry, knit, and have the sucky job of selling printing for my living.

As far as Red Sox vs. Yankees, my husband doesn't watch sports at all! But of course I root for the Red Sox all the way. That is until they are eliminated. If the yankees are in the world series, against any other team but the Red Sox, I'll go with the Yankees.

My name is Fatah. My occupation is Concubine. My status is that of a concubine. What I eat is the following: dates, bread, camel milk, goat meat. Where I live is in a building guarded by castrated males................... along with other members of the harem........................... My educational level is....... what does he want? My greatest worries: Is he as prolific as his brothers? Thanks for letting me tell you about me!

Are YOU one of THEM? In case you don't know what I mean, are YOU ONE OF THE CASTRATED GUARDS??????????? YOU are NOT SUPPOSED TO TOUCH ANY OF THE SHEIK'S HAREM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't you say your name is HELLFIRE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have you been smitten by ALLAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now, I'd like to share! My name is Miriam. My occupation is Concubine. But, then, I also have ANOTHER occupation-------besides being a concubine, that is-------I am a shepherdess. I am in charge of the goats and getting the goats' milk for the Sheik! I thank Allah that I don't have to milk the camels! I hate being spit on by those disgusting creatures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have too many children to count..........especially since the Sheik wed me when I was only a child...........In case you are wondering, I read well enough to be able to recite from the Koran on a daily basis! My favorite foods are dates, figs, flat bread, goat meat and camel meat..........My favorite animals are goats! My favorite goat is a black and white goat that I named Fatima! I hope I don't have to have her for supper any time soon...................

My name is Rashid. I am a camel driver by occupation. I pray five times a day to Allah. I am very educated. I have more children than I can count---------never mind, finacially support!!!!!!!!!!! My favorite animals are not camels.........no, don't mistake me, I do love them, lol----all the milk they give, how long they can go without water------but, oh how they spit!!!!!!!!!!!! That is why my various wives have the duty of milking them--------just like the wives take care of the goats, do the cooking, have the children! My favorite animals are the Sheik's race horses! Yes, besides being a camel driver, I also get to take care of the Sheik's horses! My favorite foods are flat breads, dates, salads, goat meat, camel meat and when I can get it, fresh lamb with mint sauce! My favorite hobby is watching the houris-------- for you who don't know what a houri is---------that is a dancing girl! Allah has told me that I will have many of them if I do the right thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi my name is Alpha.
I don't share personal information about myself, but most believe I'm a husband and wife team who post. The wife being the sane one.
The truth is that sometimes I do take my medication and I can post rationally.
As for my sex, I haven't discovered that for myself. So how can I answer any of you?
I was raised in a strict babtist home. My father was a preacher who often beat me because he thought I was gay. He didn't know what sex I was either. So I was punished if I acted to gurly or to guyie.
Just to be on the safe side.
I have trouble keeping my thoughts together as I am still confused by my childhood beatings and the visits by my 'Uncle'.
I'm working hard for the future when I can have a real conversation with a real person. Hell, Isn't that everyone's goal?

Hi, Sandi.........
My name is Mariam-Fatima. My occupation is that of Fourth Wife/Concubine to my husband, Ossama..........when I am not having more children than I can count, I milk the camels, the goats and the ewes. I make excellent ewes' cheese, goat cheese, and my camels' milk doesn't have any curds! I serve Ossama, the Sheik, his meals-------------and the food includes dates, figs, date-honey, flat breads, goat and camel meat, and, on major occacsions, lamb! The sheik enjoys his coffee and his cigars! I can even make a salad when we are in a camp where I can send one of the castrated males who guard the harem to obtain the salad ingredients!
I am educated enough that I can recite the prayers when I pray five times a day.............why should I want more education? My boys attend the Madrassah where they learn Koran and other subjects......... I teach my girls how to please their father and, of course, never to be alone with ANY male other than their father or brothers!
My husband's favorite activities are racing his camels and his horses, and, of course, watching the houris! For those of you who don't know what a houri is, a houri is a dancing girl and Allah promises the faithful (men, that is) that they will have them in Paradise! Please do not bother to ask what my favorite activities are: I have too many children, too many camels, ewes, and goats to milk, too much cheese to make, and, of course, I tend to the Sheik's meals myself!
I am worried that my husband will like another concubine and Fifth Wife better than me!

Hi Girl...sorry to hear about your ill health. I don't mean to intrude, or tell anyone what to do, certainly. Please take this as just a suggestion. I only mean well.
There is a woman who posts on here, Gloriamund, who counsels in a different way about weight loss. I don't mean to suggest that you diet, or anything like that. I am only suggesting it because perhaps she can give you some insight. Please take this suggestion is the kindest of ways.

I have updated the data in my saved directory & just MIGHT post it here again, although I'm still a bit wary after what happened a month ago. Nice to know more people do want their info shared. I'll only add those who have published their info, indicating a desire to share it with all of us.

Hi all! I'm here. Thanks for bumping this thread while waiting for me!! I'm flattered!!
What do you think about me starting a new personal information thread, for people who REALLY want to share their personal info in a directory format? That way, I won't list anything on anyone that hasn't been properly offered for print & for all to see. There are some listings on the first directory I posted last month that probably shouldn't be there, & I don't want to go through that again. I would ask people to write EXACTLY what they want to see about themselves in a directory - nothing more, nothing less - on that new thread. What do you think? Please let me know - anyone who is at all interested in this subject.
Thanks!!

Louise, how romantic...in Paris. WOW...like a movie.
I am so glad it cooled off here. Actually, it really did cool off big time. It's chilly here, enough to wear a jacket. From 80 last night down to the 60's today.
What a beautiful family you have...and grandchildren, that's so neat.
I wish you much happiness with your upcoming marriage.
Your friend,

thanks beve. It's a big step for me. I know that sounds silly - he is a wonderful person - supports me, loves me and never yells at me.
I just don't ever want to go through another divorce. the doodle

I can imagine that it is a big step, and certainly not silly. If he is good to you, he's a keeper, for sure. To me, respect is the most important factor in having a good relationship.

Doodle, I had to read your post twice-you don't give me the image of a Louise! : ) I thought you'd be a Julie, Michelle, maybe an Angie! You'll do fine in this marriage--you gave it time, and you know how sucky divorces are, so you will do what it takes to make it work! I have all the confidence in the world in you!
Beve--IzzyLou sounds soooo cool! Since he is three, has he grown out of the naughty puppy antics? Klaus did at 2--changed and did a 180. I am praying Ava does too--her birthday is August 18.
Have you ever had a big dog? I have always had big ones, but I have a thought process that I might get a smaller one down the road. I have been checking out Boston Terriers lately, but Pat said if I add one more animal to our zoo, he's gone. Well, he said that, and then the VERY NEXT DAY, I stole that neglected cat and came home with her. I promised him it was temporary until I found her a new home, but I never had the intention to give her up, and he knew it. I think the dog would put him over the edge!
But a smaller dog is easier in some respects, and I am constantly worried Klaus and Ava are going to accidentally hurt someone and we will get sued. What do you think of having a tiny one?

Joyce, IzzyLou has a wonderful personality. He sort of outgrew his puppy antics, except when we leave the house, he throws just my bed pillows on the floor. Not hubby's, just mine. He is trying to tell me something, ya think? LOL.
He is easy to control, because of his size. However, he thinks he is a big dog, actually he thinks he's human. I'll tell you, no matter how big or small, they bring so much joy and love. I never had a pet before IzzyLou, and didn't realize how much I could love a doggie.

How funny about YOUR pillows! Ava only wrecks MY stuff, won't touch Pat's. I think they love US the most, and miss us, so they find something that smells like US, and take out their loneliness on it!
My cat Rasper used to pee only on MY pillow--how nasty is that?! He'd do it when I was in the shower, and the vet said he obviously missed me, so I started taking him in the bathroom with me. Thank God he outgrew that little hang-up!

I have a 90lb English bulldog that thinks he's a toy poodle. He's so prissy! And actually very graceful for his size. He doesn't understand why he can't sit in your lap 24/7. He's so sweet and gentle and would never hurt a fly. (but if he steps on your foot you think you're going to die!) He's not fat... just very barrel chested and thick. He's red brindle and looks like like he has tiger stripes.
And as Beve1 knows... I too have an IzzyLou. A female English bulldog about 45 lbs. but really very petite for a bully. Half the size of Nigel but she's such a tomboy/klutz. She's all white with a couple of little brindle patches. They make quite a pair.
Bulldogs are the sweetest and most intelligent breed of dog I've ever owned. Their life expectancy is only 8 to 10 years... but I don't think I'll ever own another breed.
Love my babies.

I loves talking about our babies (doggies)...Celestia how did you arrive at the name IzzyLou?
Joyce, they do miss US, the most. They are more attached to us. Izzy doesn't bark as much when hubby leaves, but when I go out, he goes nuts.
He follows me around the house, and if the front door is open, and he is looking out, every now and then he will come looking for me. Too funny.
They are all such wonderful personalities, and don't just love em up.
It's interesting to know about your babies, Celestia. I learned something new about that breed. I do know that German Shepherd doggies are also extremely intelligent, and very loyal.

Celestia--I LOVE BULLIES! I really wanted one when I was looking for a playmate for Klaus. I went to dog shows, and found a breeder, but then Ava fell in my lap. My husband likes them too. Brindle is my favorite--I can imagine red brindle would be stunning! Do you have a picture you could email me of your pups? I'd love to see them. I can PM you with my home email.
Beve, my pups are damned near genius-level, in my book. So bright and Klaus is the most loyal pup ever. He'd give his life for me. Ava, on the other hand, acts like I abuse her and always tries to run off with new people when we go out on walks.
Aren't they all just the greatest?????

I would love to share puppy pics. Send me your email addresses and when I get home tonight I'll send pics. You'll regret it I promise! I have a zillion! When I'm constantly taking pictures of the dogs with my digital... my 17 year old daughter will say "hey mom! I'm over here... remember me... your human daughter?!"

Our IzzyLou is named for hubby's grandfather who was Isidore, and a favorite uncle of his, named Louis (Louie). My hubby's aunt said Pop would have loved to know we named a puppy after him.
Yep, they sure are the greatest. Im always kissing Izzy and playing with him like he was a baby. Nuts, uh?

Okay, time for a chuckle.
My Klaus is Actually Jagermeister Klaus Vom Flusstal. My ex always wanted to name his shepherd after KLAUS MEINE, the lead singer if the heavy metal band, the Scorpions! And, Klaus's litter was assigned the letter "J" from the AKC, so his show name has to start with a "J". The only German-sounding J name I could think of was JAGERMEISTER!
And, Ava? Well, I wanted a boy German shepherd, and I was going to name him Kaiser. My dog trainer said, "Jesus, why don't you just get one and name it Adolph while you are at it???" and I burst out laughing and said that would be inappropriate, but his girlfriend's name was Ava Braun, so if I got a female, I'd name her Ava. It is NOT after Ava Braun--it just triggered the name in my head and it stuck.
So Ava is Ava Marie Von Turner. Every girl should have the middle name of Marie, and Vom Turner is after her foser mom, Deb Turner.

Bigfatstel,
Did I just read that you named a cat after Adolph Hitler's girlfriend? I'm sorry, but that is just plain unsympathetic. For those who endured so much during WWII and after, and you playfully use his girlfriend's name as your dog's name...what a remembrance...what a legacy...what a tragedy that you take the whole Hitler thing so lightly. I'd be ashamed. Let's stand up against this!

Jesus H. Christ, Doggy...get your shiznit together. No, it is MY DOG! And her name is AVA, not EVA. EVA BRAUN was Hitler's girlfriend. So, find some other lame-ass thing to nit-pick me on.
My cat's names are Rasper, Toonces, Big Fat Stella, and Peanut. Oh my GOD, I am sooooo mean! I named my cat after a cat from Saturday Night Live who always drove the car off a cliff and killed the family! Call the ASPCA and report me! Ohhh, I mock Stella's weight--report me! Ohhhhhh, Rasper, he was named for having a raspy meow when I RESCUED him--oooohhhhh, how mean to mock a tiny kitten who was left for dead????? And Peanut--she was already named by the people I STOLE HER FROM because they were starving her. OOHHHHHH, report me for stealing! Thou shall not steal!!! OHHHHHHHHH!

Hey, Doodle, thanks for that post about me! I greatly appreciate your sentiment!! I've had time lately to do a bit of BB reading, & have found things to be soooooo very strange, weird, & otherwise bizarre that I just don't know if I have it in me to even read it much any more. The fighting that has occurred is just plain ridiculous, as well as all the accusations, backstabbings, foul language & cursing, nasty comments about hoping some people die of cancer, & on & on it goes. You gals who have hung in there & stuck with the BB are very strong, very determined, & very courageous to deal with all the sh*t that has gone on in the past couple weeks. As for me, I think I'd rather stick my nose in a good book & concentrate on that rather than risk being attacked in a public forum like this.
I appreciate the personal emails, & the PMs that some of you have so kindly sent me. That's the type of communication I really like, so feel free to keep that up for as long as you wish! I'll always reply.
Take care, all!

Think of you fondly everytime I read the directory.
It is nice to try and keep names straight in my head....and with so many people (and that is a good thing) you know how hard that can be.
It it really only two months that we have been going through all of this....or meeting like this or however it should be described??
I sure have met some nice people here with some very interesting things to say to each other.
I hope you can join everyone often......love doodle

P.S. Hi again, Doodle! Thanks once again for your kind sentiments. I appreciate them greatly!! Thanks for sending the PM, too. Love getting them, & also emails. Keep up the great work! I'm glad you still appreciate & use that directory I compiled way back when. There are so many new names I see online now when I check the BB. Hope you "regulars" are getting their info for your own use & remembrance. It really helps to be able to keep everyone straight in one's head!
Take care, Louise!
