I just received my White Mountain sandels A18097. Never had White Mountain before. So far they're comfortable, kinda like wearing Birkies. Anyone else have these? I'm thinking of getting another pair, I bought white.

Have a pair similar, with the exact footbed. They are alright, but not nearly as comfy and supportive as Birks.

I have a pair of White Mountain sandals - and I love them. So comfortable, and pretty, too.

I didn't buy them from QVC. I got them from a local dept. store that carries them.

White Mountain is considered a very good brand of shoes. Good for your feet.

Ok I know this will tick off the die-hard Birkie lovers BUT ... I don't like them. I've had a pair for years and every time I wear them longer than an hour, my feet KILL me. I just don't think they are designed for every type foot and I don't think they are the be-all end-all of shoes.

On the other hand, I have two pairs of White Mountains and I LOVE them!!! No breaking in period needed. I seriously do wear them as house slippers just like that guy says and I get MORE compliments on them than on any other pair of shoes I own. One complaint though -- why doesn't QVC carry any wide sizes of White Mountains?

hey SnowTiger, I'm with you. I ordered Birkies and tried to break them in but all I got were very sore feet. My heels were killing me.

They are NOT for everyone so people really should be aware of this before making their purchase. I wouldn't say don't order them from QVC since most people DO like them and the problem that I encountered happened over a period of two weeks. So trying them on in a store wouldn't be a better alternative either. I'd say cautiously try it but don't be terribly disappointed if they don't work out for you. There are other alternatives.

The White Mountain shoes I purchased a few years ago from a local shoe store were more to my liking except that as time went on the width kept getting wider and wider. I kept falling out of them as I walked. It was quite embarrassing. LOL

How do I love White Mountain? Let me count the pairs - 10 so far with another pair (my first dressy ones from them) on rush delivery for a wedding I'm going to on Saturday (#A-03996). The first pair I bought (#A-76816) were so wonderful, I said they must have been made in heaven by the angels - so I bought it in five colors! My first pair have now turned into my "house slippers", so I had to buy another pair of white to replace them for wearing to work, etc. I also have A50274 in red and denim, A18097 in lt. blue, and a coral color in some other style I don't know the number to.

Don't care for the Birkies at all - I wear White Mtn. from spring to early fall.

I love White Mountain and will tell anyone that will listen how comfortable they are. I own three pair of A76816 and one pair of A58903. I think I have more than that but don't remember item numbers. They are great shoes.

I love my other White Mountains, the sandal/clogs. They are extremely comfortable. I have 6 pair, and will pick up more this summer.
I just don't love my White Mountains that are Birk clones. They are alright, not great.

Is there a web site that sells White Mountain? I can't find one. I also need wide width in some styles and I can't wear any of them with a higher heel because of my bad knees.

dogma,
I'm sure there may be a cheaper way to do this, but you may want to start at iQVC to look around at the styles. I've ordered directly from QVC and am so crazy about these shoes that I would have paid whatever! I teach and let me tell you these shoes are the BEST!! Birkies give me BLISTERS.
My feet are wide but I've had NO PROBLEMS with A-58903. Love them. I woould stick to this type first. Maybe they do stretch as someone suggested, which is a benefit to me!

Thanks SnowTiger, maybe the shoes run on the wider side. I know the sandels I ordered were wider than I thought they'd be.

Okay, I found this during my search and they don't have a higher heel. A03997 A02123 A03998 If anyone owns these can you tell me if they tend to run wider that usual?
Thanks

I just went to that site. I saw some of the same shoes that are offered on the QVC site. I saw several department stores nearby that carry the White Mountain shoes. I enjoy the White Mountain sandal/clogs and the boots. As I have gotten older it is more important to me to wear shoes that do not hurt my feet, so I have many Birkenstocks, Clarks, and White Mountain. All were ordered from QVC over the past 4 or 5 years. The first few years I did not order shoes from QVC, but decided with the styles I now wear I would try them. Most of the time they fit. If I were trying shoes on in a department store I might wear the half size, but with QVC I have always ordered the whole size and with these type shoe, sandals and clogs it works. So I would not really say I have a wide foot, but on the last fashion day I ordered the aqua Ryka; they were only available in the wide, and I have White Mountain boots in both reqular and wide width. I do not order much from HSN, but I saw some Olive Green Suede Boots, so not being sure, and because they were offered in wide, I ordered the wide. Although they were wide, they were not as wide as White Mountain regular width boots! So I think White Mountain may run bigger.

I forgot to tell you that I have A58903 in the red. This style makes my foot look slimmer. The color red though is more a rust. I also have A49137 in red which is a red, but not a nubuck leather.
I think the nubuck leather stretches more. I also have A43029 Turquoise. I seem to buy much turquoise and aqua. My husband is a Carolina Panther fan so I must buy clothes and shoes to wear to the game.

Let me add my two cents' worth in favor of White Mountain clogs: They are wonderful! So comfortable, and yet so cute. I even wore a pair of WM white clogs to my daughter's wedding a few years ago--she had an outdoor ceremony on what had to be the hottest day in July.

Have to agree with Desi about the fact that some WM styles do seem to widen over time. I usually relegate those to my around-the-house collection.

I've never tried Birkenstocks...just can't get past how incredibly ugly they are!!!

Hi insomniac, I not only like your name I am your name! lol

also relegated my White Mountains as indoor shoes...got tired of walking six paces ahead of them. I may give them another try though in another style.

not only did the Birkenstocks hurt my feet I couldn't get past how big they made my feet look and believe me I definitely don't need that!!

This was interesting today. I was shopping in Kohl's this morning looking at the sandels and I found that their brand name of Sanoma is the same as White Mountain. They had the sandels I just bought from QVC for less money. There were others also that I looked up under WM and they were the same sandel. I quess they sell under many different names.

Dogma, Thanks for the info. will definitely check it out

I was just starting to think the other night that the Q is ripping us off lately or maybe I'm just realizing. It all started with the Nathan's TSV hot dogs last week.

BTW... sort of OT...but I went to Sam's club yesterday and found Nathan's hot dogs, 36 in a pack, 6 and 3/4 inches (I measured), for around $9.00. If you recall the shipping and handling alone for the Q's dogs were $10.00, a total purchase price of $30.00

A little food for thought....

The White Mountain brand looks very nice. Love the styles. Birkenstocks are not as attractive (IMO), however I've found them to be extremenly comfortable. No "breaking in" period for me. Sounds like some people do need to adjust to them, though.

well without a doubt, QVC's prices on many things are MUCH higher than I find in my area and when you add the shipping and handling, ESPECIALLY on the food ... OH MY GOD! Who can afford this food stuff on a regular basis?

I don't know how these things work, but I've alwys wondered why QVC doesn't try to work somethng out with UPS. They sure do bring them a lot of business. Or how about offer us a break? Order three times in a month and get free shipping after that? God knows they still make PLENTY of money on the mark ups!

I appreciate the info on Kohl's!! I have one in my city but never went there. Are you sure it is White Mountains and not a knock off? This would save me ooodddles of dough!

I bought A58821 in white and Kohl's has the same darn sandel in brown. I almost oredered the brown from QVC. I walked all around in them and it's the same sandel only with the Sanoma name. I also ordered, but did not receive them yet, A03997, and they had the same sandel at Kohl's. I didn't like the fit so those may be going back. It's funny because I always liked the Sanoma brand but never paid attention to WM till I ordered them last week so I never noticed it.

Last year, I bought a pair of sandals from Sears that had the exact same look as White Mountain! I got them in red and later got a brown pair of the same style in White Mountain. Turns out the Sears version was more comfortable than the White Mountain because I have a high instep. The brand was called, "I Love (heart) Comfort". I don't know if they still sell this style at Sears, but thought I would pass it on.
