View Full Version : All new BAD QVC experience

Okay... I've been on this watch buying frenzy lately. 3 in a week... a baby Lupa and an Invicta Diver and then I was browsing on the QVC website last weekend and saw a Joan Rivers watch that I thought was very cool. It was under "hot summer trends: large face watches". Apparently it was a TSV not too long ago. Well I got the white one with the black face. It came today and when I opened the box I fell in love. It was under 50 bucks but I drooled over it more than the Invictas I got earlier in the week. I loved it! The best part is I could tell the time across the room! I put it on and went to set the time and low and behold when I pulled the crown out and it came off in my hand! It's useless. Ugh!!!!!
Anyone else buy this watch? Did you have this watch or have any problems with any of Joan's timepieces?
I was so disappointed... couldn't wait to wear it home to Texas this weekend on my Memorial Day trip. Now it's back to the post office for an exchange. Or should I count my losses and go for the refund?
...mourning the loss of my groovy cool/useless, broken watch. By the way... the Invictas keep great time! I guess you really DO get what you pay for.

Go for the refund. Get your money back. Judging from other posts here, it seems like QVC is pretty good with customer service issues like defective products. Hopefully, they will take care of you.
Good luck to you, and sorry you had such a bad experience.
(Please let us know how it turns out.)

I've had to return some Nolan Miller jewelry as well as Joan Rivers jewelry due to breakage - even after I had it for a year or so. QVC didn't quibble at all, & sent me replacements, & I didn't have any further trouble with any of the replacement pieces. Whatever you decide to do, Celestia, GOOD LUCK!!

Funny that this thread should be started. Here is my "All new BAD QVC experience". Back on May 14 I ordered a Susan Graver peachskin blouse (I like these for work) anyway, being on a buying frenzy of other things I kinda forgot about it until I got my Q-Card bill and lo and behold the blouse was posted and I thought Huh! don't remember getting that one. I went to my account and it said that it had shipped on the 16th. No tracking number, No indication that is was shipped USPS just said that it shipped. Well I contacted QVC via their website and just today I got a response. Quote...unquote..."after checking on your order it indicates that that item has shipped we ask that you allow 10 days for delivery"..I wanted to scream...You stupid idiot today is the 28th of May..that makes it 12 days late already. Did they not read what I wrote saying that there was no indication "HOW" it had shipped (usually it says ups or thru the post office. What is wrong with these people can't they read or understand when someone makes a complaint. What is going on at QVC lately, I don't know but this is not the first screw up I have had in the last 6 months, so I don't know I may just have to take my money elsewhere if customer service is this unintelligent. Oh I forgot one thing in that quote.."if you don't receive it in 10 days" contact us.Duh!!! I am sorry if I am rambling here but I am really ticked off.

MareKitty and Sanjoro, it was so nice to see your screennames here!!! I miss you. There are some really nice newbies here; they're a positive addition after the negative, ugly and too weird stuff we had. But I hafta say, it just doesn't seem the same without ya'......hope you'll keep your posts comin'.

Yikes, Shopfan, this sounds awful!
Wish I understood things better; perhaps some fellow posters can come in to help out. Was it QVC? Was it the shipping?
I'm so sorry for your troubles with this; please keep us posted on how things turn out.

Thanks, O.C. That was so sweet of you.
I am an "occasional poster", but certainly remember you. And many other great folks on this board.

ya know merekitty...I think this time it was done by QVC...I think what happened it that they posted it as shipped but it never did. It is either sitting in a bin somewhere or maybe I just got charged and somebody else received it. The last screw up was that they sent an entirely different item then what I had ordered yet the invoice they send with it had the item correctly listed. So I think I would have to say it is QVC who is making all the mistakes. Oh and about the blouse well I can't reorder it because the color I ordered is no longer available..sucks don't it?

Stick to your guns, Shopfan. If QVC screwed up, then they should fix it!
I've read post after post about their excellent customer service. I guess this is the real challenge -- will they step up to the plate?
Let us know how it goes. Of course, we wish you the best.

Thanks so much, O.C., for your kind words!! They are greatly appreciated!! After a bit of a lull in my BB reading/posting, I seem to be back with a vengeance tonight!! I'm half asleep here at the keyboard after a couple very long hard days of yard work, etc. My body aches from head to toe, & I really need to be in bed! But, here I am, reading this BB again!! Guess that means I'm a true "die hard" BB member!! HA!!
Have a great weekend, all. Good luck, Celestia & Shopfan!

I ordered some earrings of Joan River's some time ago and they immediately broke-the quality is not there-I'd never order her stuff again. I used to love all the other jewelry I've received from QVC until recently. I received a fairly expensive 14k peridot bracelet from them and it was beautiful. But the first time I wore it(on vacation) it fell off my arm for absolutely no reason. It didn't even break at the clasp, it just broke in the middle, when I raised up my hand! I don't think their quality control is as strict as they claim!

Please try to get a refund. This is inexcusable. Let us know how it goes -- we are in your corner.

Celestia, I am so sorry to hear about your Joan Rivers watch problem... it was indeed a TSV , a few months ago. I bought the orange watch, as well as the turquoise one. I wear them , and have had no trouble. there are my only 2 pieces of Joan R., becasue I usually do not care for her jewlery.I think that it was just a fluke. I own many pieces of QVC jewlery. and While I have had to return a few items, most of what I purchase is in 100% good shape.
As far as the watches, ask for it to be returned with another watch. Hopefully you will have no issues with this one.

Hi Celestia. I have only had to return/exchange a couple of items from QVC and have had no problems. So I think you should try an exchange first, and then if that one doesn't work, then get a refund. You never know, the first one may just have been a fluke....

Hi: I have a couple of the watches you're speaking about and I've had no problem with them at all. Hopefully it was just a fluke. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for all the responses ladies!
And Carly... I loved the orange one as well and almost bought them both... but thought I'd try one out and see if I had to have the other one. I'm gonna hope it was a fluke and go for the exchange. I just love, love, love the watch! I only have one other piece of Joan Rivers (some bead necklaces... loved them, had no problem with them)
Perhaps I should have looked at it as some kind of divine intervention telling me "STOP BUYING WATCHES CELESTIA!!"
I've never had any problems with shipping before... I'm so sorry to those of you that have. I swear that must be the most frustrating thing. I'd have been on the phone with Customer Service just a cussin' and screamin'! I probably would have been arrested for customer service rep verbal abuse/threatening.
Good luck and let us know how that one goes.

I had a problem with a Joan Rivers watch. The stem was broken and I could not open it to change the time. I had it for a while and no problem, back it went, and I received a credit plus the shipping to send it back.
If I can make a suggestion to those who have a problem with customer service. I do not do any contact thru their website. I ALWAYS call customer service and get a name. That way the credit is issued as we speak, and there is no misunderstanding.
Next time try it, and see what happens if there are any further problems. Hope this suggestion helps.

i was the one who recived a defective bracelet, returned it, and received the same defective bracelet back in a nice band new box. I still don't know how they managed that one. i decided on a refund after I sent back (again) the same bracelet. This makes me wonder what they do with the defective products. Put them back on the shelf to be re-sold? Anyone know?
Celestia, Your experience with the Q infuriates me. I'm finally catching on to their procedures:
Have a TSV
When sold out, put them on wait list, maybe
Wait for the return items and send them back out to the wait listed customers OR if there are no wait listed customers, some new customers will shop on line for them
Don't bother to check, repair or destroy the damaged merchandise just send them out in a hurry because we don't want to keep our happy customers waiting too long
For the merchandise that somehow get's lost in the process well then the customer will have to wait 7 to 10 days in case it shows up. It's called cash flow. They have our money and we just stand by and watch them get richer.
I say, obviously from the above experience, send it back and save yourself the aggravation. Yes, I have been burned too Celestia.

All this is not happy to hear.
But, it must be said.
Thanks for getting the message out.
