has anyone ever used the technique of wall glazing after you painted it?
I am putting joint compound all over my bathroom walls, then going to paint it, and then MIGHT glaze over it. Just not sure how it will look nor am I sure if it is worth it.
I just viseted my parents this weekend..
they had glazed their walls..and did some sponge painting roll thing to it ...
reddish orangish
I had never heard of it.. they showed me the glaze and mentioned it takes A LOT of it. Like 3 gallons for one wall..
It looked real cool!
Home Depot has a class almost every Saturday on faux finishes, glazing techniques, etc...
Also, a good 'how to' resource for finishing techniques is: www.Behr.com - They take you through step-by-step...

Well, we just got a Lowe's here in my little town and we ran by there yesterday on our way out. They were having a class at 4 pm!!! ugh...I couldn't stay.
I have gone to various classes at Home Depot, and they are great. I just spoke to a friend and she said it would all work together...so I might try it anyway if I can't find a class in the next few days.
I am leaning towards the reddish (tuscan red) color.

Hi Miss P, I glazed my dinning room walls- I used the sponge and it came out good. The first coat is a cream color and the top coat with the glaze is a seafoam green color. It was not hard, just messy LOL As I said mine came out good, but my sister and her husband did the glaze affect in their livingroom but they used the roller method, now that method takes longer but the look is so much better!! Good luck.

monicauf I swear I was just thinking of you last night and wondering how you have been doing.
I hope things are well for you.

Funny, I was thinking about Monica too...but it was because of Van Morrison on the Sopranos tonight.
Anyway, nice to 'see' you!

Hi guys, just busy with life, spending more time with the family, thinking of moving, better job hunting, possibly grad school- just alot of stuff so I am not watching much tv right now.
I love Van Morrison--- great music- but I don't have HBO
Thanks for thinking of me!
Sorry MsP, I can't help out here. Another family member did glaze their walls and it looks great.....but I don't know much about the process.
I say "do it." lol
