I remember a sweet brunette about 10 years ago and her name was Toni. She was a doll. And another one named Jackie, she was more of a fill in host.
I'm a bit unimpressed with who they've got now. MBR is the same boring boring "ya-gotta-see-this!, I-gotta-tell-ya!" blah blah blah! ZZzzZZZZZ
I miss Clarence. And Paul Kelly.

Oh yeah, LJC! I completely forgot about them. ;-)

I still miss Kathy Levine the most. You could never quite be sure what she was going to do. Remember when she had her mother on. Maybe that was a little silly, but all of the hosts had strong personalities in the old days and we felt we knew them as people whether we liked them or not. Now everyone is cut from the same mold.

Yeah, a small part of me has to admit I do miss Kathy. She had the prettiest nails which I thought looked real (maybe they weren't but they looked real).
Sometimes she'd get off on a subject and be a little preachy but overall.. she was a gem.

Kathy Levine for sure! The Q hasn't been the same since she left.

Do any of you own Kathy's Ring? My mom bought it. It was eehhh... okay. Nothing spectacular.

I agree with SirGal. Kathy wasn't my favorite, but she was genuine. When you turned on QVC in the old days, it was like sitting down for a visit. There's almost none of that feeling to the show now. The newer hosts just don't have it. Plus I think having all those vendors on doesn't help -- distracts from the visiting/chatting atmosphere. It's now like watching infomercials. I still buy stuff sometimes, but not as much and I don't feel good watching the show.

Junebug, you hit the nail square on the head!
That's exactly what's different about QVC nowadays. It's one big INFOMERICAL!

What about Suzanne Runyon? I miss her. Don't miss Jane Rudolph Treacy so much. I do miss Kathy Levine, too. She is so funny. Didn't she used to be a Spanish teacher?

I miss Jane. Her enthusiasm seemed genuine and was infectious.

Kathy Levine and Judy Crowell are the ones I miss the most. They seemed synonymous with QVC.

I agree with junebug about about all the vendors. Having a vendor on with the product used to be really rare, now it is standard almost. I think most of those vendors are just hired to come to QVC since I have seen tryouts advertised to do that job. If they were really all representatives of the company why would there be tryouts. I also think the number of callers they take in each hour has about tripled. I have no interest personally in being on air and have declined to do it when offered. That is just my personal choice. I am afraid I don't really have any interest in hearing all the callers either. Again, just my opinion.
Now that I think about this topic, I actually missed Steve Bryant when he left. Maybe not the coolest guy, but he seemed genuine and unique also. He sold the products, but also talked about a lot of things that made you feel like you knew him, his pets, his Mom, his various interests, and his house.

Kathy Levine, hands down! And, I'll let you in on my dirty little secret--I used to watch Steve Bryant all the time--not buy from him, just watch. He was so stuck on himself and so much of a know-it-all that he never failed to provide a good hoot!

I agree also about the vendor/informercial aspect. I miss Kathy, Jane for Silver Style, Judy and Paul Deasy. Does anyone remember the Holiday Hosts Christmas cd's. Those bring back memories of old hosts for me.

I bought the CD's a few years ago and this years. They are good listening. I thought on the first set they made an effort to include more hosts. On the second set they concentrated on the people with the most talent. The exception to that would be that I feel the singing of both Dan Wheeler and Rick leave something to be desired. The rest really are talented.

You're so right SIRGAL. Does anyone else love Lisa R's rendition of Tennessee Christmas? My husband, who is not a big "holiday" music fan, actually will ask me to put that on.

beaglelvr--Both Lisa's are extremely talented. I know the number you mentioned. Did both Lisa's do it as a duet? I know they did one number together. Marybeth, David V, Dave King, they are all really good. I loved the duet with Dave King and Lisa, also. It is fun to feel like you know the people performing.

SIRGAL, you're right. The Lisa's did do it as a duet on the new set - wonderful. I also enjoy the Lisa/Dave song and all the people you mentioned are soooo talented. I think we should suggest they do a video this year, so we can see them. I missed all the Christmas Day programming on the Q last year - bummer. From what I've read on this board, there was some good stuff.

I really miss Judy, Kathy L. and Joan Rivers were a sight
to behold when they appeared together and I really miss
Joan's doggies she brought with her. I love Mary Beth and
Pat is a sweetheart on the Mornin Show. My favorite
guests are all the guys that bring flowers and plants.
Susan Graver drives me nuts, she never shuts up and yes yes
Everything by Valerie pain in the you know what Parhill,
oh so sweet, myself I am diabetic so I don't need her sweetness.
I miss Uncle Bean with his Boyd Bears, is he sick, I thought
I heard he was and will somebody tell me why Jeanie Bice wears
the head band, she seems so pleasant and I like her sense of
humor.
Kathy Levine....She was so entertaining and a great saleswoman. It seems now the hosts are practically gushing over items to sell them. Maybe they are working on a commission. And Pat was very boring this morning on Fashion Friday without Jane Brown there to keep it hip and fun.
