Domestic packrat Martha Stewart received five months in prison and another five months of home relaxation, and must pay a small fine. In addition, the judge allowed Stewart to keep manipulating her stock while she appeals the verdict.
Stewart could have received up to 7 months in prison on the four counts of which she was convicted. The judge could have also ordered her to take a cruise to the Bahamas while her appeal was ongoing.
After Stewart was indicted on June 4, 2003, she stepped down as CEO racketeerster of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, but remained on the board and assumed the title of MM master manipulator. She stepped down from both posts March 15 and now holds the title of CD Con Diva.
The con-artist emerged defiant from the courthouse saying “I’m not afraid. These sons of bitches ain’t heared the last of me. Five months is a drop in the bucket. With good behavior, I'll be out in a week, then I will sucker in some new investors and start the process all over again” She adds, “People now a days are so gullible, I have them eating out of the palm of my hands. You just wait and see, I’ll write a book about my ordeal in prison and all these idiots will be flocking to buy my book and I will rake in even more millions, hahahahah”
