View Full Version : Patti's Clothing Choices Must Stop!

It's like watching a train wreck! Just when you think it can't get worse, it does! The tight skirt with a tied-at-the-waist shirt last week was terrible. The pink shawl over the horribly unflattering diagonal striped skirt at the Mall of America with Nick Chavez was inexcusable. But today, she has on a shapeless black skirt, see-through tight white shirt with some pink "shrug" thing over it, also tight, and it's just awful. WHO DRESSES THESE PEOPLE?? Who allows her to do this?? You can even see her tummy roll under the white shirt. I am a big girl, bigger than Patti, and I even know that you don't wear light-colored tight shirts that show off your arm fat!! Neutral or dark colors and materials that do no cling to your skin are your friend.

I just had to tune in to see what you were talking about. I completely agree. I think Patti is very pretty but she does need clothing help. It looks like the pink shirt is too small for her and really makes her bottom look big (probably bigger than what it really is). The skirt would be okay if the shirt she was wearing were longer and not as tight. While I do not think she is a plus size woman, I would say she wears a size large, she needs to accept that fact and dress appropriately. I'm sure qvc has many items that would flatter her.

OMG! I'm practically speechless! What was she thinking? Everything about that outfit is wrong! wrong! wrong! I've never seen anything like it. Sheesh!

I agree. Patti need to stop wearing clothes! When is she just gonna strip naked on the air?

I just have to jump in here and say that if you have big arms, NOTHING makes them appear smaller. I am a size 16 and decided a few years ago that covering them up sometimes is a worse mistake. Big girls have the "right to bare arms" and often look better for it. Wearing big, oversized clothes can only make you look bigger, especially if you are short, like Patti is.

I agree that she picks some zingers, but honestly, I thought she looked nice today. JMO.

Since I have "tummy issues," I am always envious that she has such a flat one and can tuck in her tops! We all have something, don't we!

From her eyebrows to her choice of clothing, Patti is a mess. Doesn't she have a boss she has to answer to? She also was really rude to people calling in today.
Why does the Q continue to allow her to represent them?

Tucking her shirts in do not help her at all. She needs to wear longer tops and NOT tuck them in.
Just my 2 cents with S&H of $9.75!

Like I said, I think Patti is very pretty and is not truly that big. She just dresses unflattering. However, the shirt she wore today indicated she does not have a flat stomach. The shirt was very tight and emphasized the little "extra" she has in that area. She should wear clothes that de-emphasize her problem areas, not draw attention to them.

OMG, I saw Patti as well and couldn't believe how she was dressed. You could see her roll under that white top. What's the matter with her? She acts like she's a size 4 or something. Why don't the producers or whoever at the Q say something to her. She looks bad lately.

I have been accused of slamming Patti. My comments are only intended to be kind and directional as are so many in this thread. She is short, listed as being 5"4" and so am I. I can't imagine that the Q forces her to go on air wearing misfitting clothes and bad makeup but so often she appears that way. All of those hideous hip clinging things that make her look like nothing other than a sausage are dreadful. The style people at the Q should know a lot more. Is there an intention of making her look like a clown to get rid of her. Perhaps it is a term of her contract that she must be terrible? Or is it just her poor taste?

By the way, she was the worst I have ever seen when she was new for blabbing over every guest. She still does it, and her squeaky voice is so bad.

The Fashion Police have just put out an APB on Patti R.

I certainly hope so! How she dresses and does her makeup is part of her job. The hosts and models don't have to all be clones with perfect figures, but they should all look as tasteful and attractive as possible in their own way.

Maybe the next time Patti is on, the people from What Not to Wear will come out and ambush her!!

The point is NOT Patti's weight. It's her choice of clothing. Her professional demeanor is, well, non-existent, to say the very least. And she gets worse every day. What the heck is wrong with her???

there is a way to hide large upper arms but it has to do with the way clothing is cut. Tops with a too-short shoulder length contribute to the problem because when the shoulder seam stops "short" and the sleeve it set in the arm bulges out at the side. Garments with a longer shoulder seam help because if the shoulder seam is long enough where the sleeve starts it just kind of "drops" off the shoulder and skims the outer bulge in the arm rather than hugging it. Hard to really understand unless you try clothing on.

I'm a plus size also so I know that heartache, but also understand the freedom to say the heck with it and go sleeveless sometimes. But never at work and certainly would not on air. They'd have to tar and feather me first before I'd let that image scare America.

Great point, alwaysshop - there are so many clothes I am not able to buy for work because of the cut. Having the shoulders/sleeves hang correctly is really a problem with plus size clothing. Also, I agree with the others who said Patti is just not that big. I am quite a bit bigger and would love to be her size. Her clothing fits so bad and is so wrong for her body type, it makes her appear even bigger than she is and accentuates the problem areas even more. When she does wear appropriate items (I have seen this happen a few times, but not many), she's actually looks very nice.

It's not just tight clothes that can look bad - the way they are cut and hang is so important. A good example of this was the Bob Mackie show with Leah. She had on a white jacket that had black diagonal stripes going down the sleeves and a bunch of other busy stuff happening. Leah is a slender lady, but the way that jacket was cut made her look at least 20 pounds heavier. Even the smallest model looked larger because of it.

My take on Patti is that she tries too hard to be like

Personally, I really like Patty. Even if she lost weight, she would have the wide hip span. Isn't it what is called, "Pear Shape"?

Yes, she could dress differently however, we all have a different taste in clothing.

I like her personality. She is so bubbly and has a very pretty smile and beautiful hair.

She is just stuck with the shape God gave her and you can't blame anyone for that.

I have a grandaughter who is 14, wers a size 2 and thinks she is fat. When I was a teenager, I used to drink Weight On because I was embarassed because I was so skinny. I was 5'6" tall and wore a size 5.

The media and the magazine commercials show these girls who look like a double edge razor blade turned sideways. What an unhealthy message to send to our young people.

Let's face it--Patti does not have the shape to effectively sell clothes. Whatever she wears from the waist down looks horrid. Maybe she should stop with all this 2-piece crap and stuff that ties here and drapes there. It's only calling attention to her humungeous butt and huge thighs--all nicely accented, by the way, with her pigeon-toed stance! Maybe she should try one-piece fashion--dresses, jumpers, etc. She may WANT to be fashionable, but not all of us (myself included) were meant to wear everything. If she wants to mimic Lisa Robertson, she could start be losing 100 pounds.

She's probably a nice person and an adequate host--so let her do sit-down shows selling jewelry and collectibles.

Barbie...I understand where you are coming from however, her body does not affect my decision to make a purchase.

I don't feel she is trying to mimmick Lisa R. I have noticed when the host start out, they are not as outgoing as they become a few months later. I really feel she has grown so much since starting out with QVC.

I think Patti has a good shape to sell clothes. The average American woman is her size and if qvc would dress her appropriately to where her flaws are hidden and she looks good, qvc could sell more clothes than usual. I'm sure people would call in just to ask if what she is wearing is for sale, the same as some have done for a few of the other hosts.

I thought for the first time Patti finally dressed appropriatly during Nick Chavez's show. Now I wouldn't have worn that color or fabric in 115 degree summer weather...but she still looked much better then she has in the past - except I didn't like her hair today.
