NBC Names Trump's 18 New 'Apprentice' Candidates
Fri Aug 27, 4:41 PM ET
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Who will be this year's Omarosa, everyone's favorite reality TV villain? Who will be the apprentice to rise to the top of the business world? And importantly, who will hear the ominous utterance of real estate mogul Donald Trump, "You're fired?"
Fans will know soon, as broadcaster NBC on Friday named the 18 candidates who will compete in the second season of "The Apprentice," premiering on Sept. 9.
Last season, "Apprentice" became a breakout hit for the network, boosting its key Thursday ratings, racking up profits and making Trump an improbable pop culture icon.
Many of the people who competed on the show last season have gone on to good jobs or TV deals as a result of their time in Trump's boardroom.
Ranging in ages from 23 to 37, this year's crop will be split into two evenly numbered teams of men and women. Their first challenge, the network said, will be to create a new toy for toy giant Mattel Inc.
That sounds much more interesting than selling lemonade!
The men are:
Kevin, 29, a law student from Chicago
Raj, 28, a real estate developer in the tony ski resort of Vail
Bradford, 33, a lawyer and real estate investor from Florida
Rob, 32, a corporate products salesman from Texas
Andy, 23, a new Harvard graduate from Florida
Wes, 28, a financial planner for the wealthy from Atlanta
Chris, 30, a stockbroker from Long Island with only a high school degree
John, 24, a marketer from San Francisco.
The women are:
Maria, 31, a Virginia marketer
Jennifer C., 31, a real estate agent from New York
Pamela, 32, an investment firm partner from San Francisco
Sandy, 28, a Maryland bridal shop owner
Elizabeth, 31, a consultant from southern California
Stacie J., 35, a Subway franchisee in Harlem
Ivana, 28, an investor from Boston
Jennifer M., 30, a San Francisco attorney
Kelly, 37, a Los Angeles software executive
Stacy R., 26, a New York attorney.
