WE all know that QVC has a 30 day return policy. However, they have been lax in enforcing that up until now. I have a friend that returned something after that period, and they sent it back to her.

So here is the question? What happens when you buy something and it is for a Christmas gift? Like I bought something on the Rose of Tralee special for my mother. What if it doesnt fit and I have to send it back? Will they take it back? The hosts have really been telling customers to buy this for a Christmas gift.

That is a great point, but I think that they will not accept it after 30 days, Christmas gift or not.

Well, if that is the case then they need to inform the hosts to either say on air, if this is a Christmas gift, make sure of size etc. Or if this is a gift, tell the representative and they can make a note on your account, or something. Because if what I bought my mother doesnt fit, I will send it back, and I better get the credit for it...

Just more living proof that their "CUSS"tomer service is now nonexistent. Quickly, very quickly they are becoming the buffoons of etailing! The PHILISTINES!

I bought a ring for my husband one time, and gave it to him for Valentines day. It was beyond the 30 days, but sent it back, and said it was a gift and didn't fit him. They refunded my money promptly. QVC should have a written policy about gift giving. I would ask them for a copy of it and remind them of it. Also, does the 30 days start when they ship it, or you receive it? That would add at least 5-7 days onto the return time.

HHGirl...

I have read these boards about your problem with Chavez/QVC...

Have you ever heard anythign from anybody, either for QVC or from his Beverly Hills salon?

I have shopped at QVC for about 13 or 14 years.....I have returned stuff well after 30 days.....however.

When that happens it is usually because I know right away that I don't want it............so when I send it back it is still brand new and should be able to be re sold.

I even sent tennis shoes back once after a year..........wrong size..I had moved and forgot that I had them...looked they were still selling them...Of course they were still in tact just as I had received them...and they took them back.

I have only had one thing returned to me.....a broken pair of earrings that the post came off of the back...they returned them to me and said it had been to long.......I didn't argue because they had been so good about everything else...................doodle

Someone should call them and ask them....what their policy is on gifts...............???

I, too, have sent items back after the 30 day time period. I even sent back something after a year but that's because it broke and I wasn't thrilled with it anyway.

I haven't had a problem with returns.

If it is more than 30 days, why ship it back? Why doesn't QVC issue a "store" credit instead.

That's a really good question--someone should call and ask! I know that on HSN, once it gets closer to the holidays--maybe mid to late October, they start allowing returns to be accepted until 15 Jan. You would think if QVC did this, the hosts would be going on and on about it. However, I don't see why they wouldn't issue full credit after the return period-- that's what other stores do when you're past the return date. I think it's worth a call to CS.

Somewhere, someone said -- if it is a gift, tell the CS rep and they can note it on the computer. Then if you have to return it after the 30 days, they can verify that info in the computer. I do know that closer to Christmas, they have been (not to say they WILL be now!) more lenient about returns.

If they are going to beat us over the head with "Christmas in July", then they should absolutely have a perfectly clear return policy on their website and on the air. Until I see that, I'm not buying anything as presents for Christmas.
The "Q" is going downhill quickly. After the Chavez debacle on the "Day of Beaty", I'm not sure I want to do business with them at all.

This is what I was told last year. If you return something that was a gift and it's over 30 days you must write Christmas gift, birthday gift, mothers day gift, etc. so as not to have a problem. When I called last year I told them it stinks that we can't buy off QVC till after Dec 1st because of the return policy and that is what I was told to do.

The Q will accept anything you bought during the year the
month of January--I always call ahead and say it is a
Xmas present. Have also done same for birthdays.

I've never heard of a store issuing a store credit or refund without turning over the product first, regardless of how long it's been...it doesn't make sense to call up and say hey, I don't like this product anymore, issue me a credit.

If that were the case I'm sure people would be calling all the time saying they didn't want something just to get credits.

In the last year, QVC has become more strict in their return policy. Only because of laziness, I sent two items back that were over the 30-day return, and both items were returned to me. I have returned a birthday purchase that was over the 30 day return, but I enclosed a letter explaining why it was over the time. I received an email thanking me for the explanation.

Just wanted to let you all know that I just sent back a TSV that I had bought back in July (it was the set of 2 breezies bras... they did not fit right). I sent them back last week (about 60 days after I had received them) and got an email that they are processing my credit card refund today.
