Trump is on the Q right now selling his book. Is anyone planning on buying it?

Yes, but not from QVC. ok, I will be a bitch and say it first: Lisa wore the SAME outfit she wore with Joan on Saturday night! Less than 72 hours later??? Jeezus, the child must need a raise. She could have asked Joan to borrow something or she could have rented an outfit from a formal shop. :(

LOL!!! I didn't notice. I actually thought she would have dressed up more but I did notice it was tweed, I think.

Maybe it was a look-a-like outfit. I can't imagine she would wear that so soon. Who knows!

Trust the Pudster, it was THE same outfit, all three pieces.

Hi Everyone;
I have never seen Lisa so nervous as she was tonight with Donald. She never said in the beginning that the first 1000 books would be autographed and the caller Greg mentioned that. She even said the callers name and than said what is your name. Wow, the Donald had some effect on her!!!
Blessings,
Dallas

Such a polished professional, that Lisa. I'm sorry - you can all rag on me if you want to (and you will!) but this proves what a few posters have said already. Lisa is at the zenith of her career. Where else can she go? A thirty minute show and she can't remember the first 1000 are signed? Proof positive (to me, at least) that my speech professor was 100% correct: NEVER, EVER wing it - everyone will know. Please don't make an excuse such as, 'Everyone makes mistakes'. She's been a host for how long? The only thing she has stopped doing on a regular basis is asking, "What can they do? Fire me?" Ah, you were with Donald Trump after all. Hmmm, what is it that he always says at the end of his show? It's very sad to me and I feel embarrased for Lisa.

Gee I thought I was seeing things with Lisa R.'s same outfit. You would think she has other clothes to wear. Frankly, that outfit isn't too flattering on her. It looks too Matrix like with that long coat. What happened to her good taste??

Well, you know, you can always, "Ask Lisa About Style".

Puddy: What do you mean about Lisa not remembering that the first 1000 were signed?

Read the post above mine from Dallas. A caller reminded her about it.

Puddy is definitely right that was the same tweed coat. It was the first thing I noticed. Although I do happen to love that coat. I thought that Lisa was prepared, but she was also very nervous, which made her stumble a couple of times. How about Trump offering her a job!! As I read on other postings many of us were surprise they went with Lisa to do the show. But I bet Trump's "people" said they wanted the best, and in that line of business that means who sells the most - so naturally they went with Lisa. She really did a decent job. IMO I would have gone with a Dave King or Dan Wheeler. It will be difficult for QVC to decide which customers get the extra 1000 autographed copies Trump said he would sign. Good thing it wasn't for a whole hour. Honestly I don't know why anyone would buy a book from QVC. You can find a discount price at amazon.com and they usually do free s&h. Anyway just my opinions.

If Donald Trump wanted Lisa, he would have never said a word. Phone calls would be made, lawyers contacted and papers signed - all in private. It would be a 'done deal' before we knew anything. Strategy is Trump's middle name.

You guys are way harsh. On the sets at Studio Park,
the monitors display the callers' names to help the
hosts remember who they are talking too and whether
that customer is calling because they just purchased
the item or are calling to give a testimonial. Maybe
Lisa did not have the luxury of having this feature
at Trump Tower. I will say however that I have noticed
a couple of times in the past that she has worn the
same outfit two days in a row!

Not harsh, Panda, just observant and honest. Lisa said herself at the end of the half hour, "You have one chance to make a first impression." With or without monitors, counters, etc. she did have an earpiece. I would imagine that someone was speaking to her directly, like they do at Studio Park.

I have to say that I think that Lisa held her own last night. She was on the ball, and when Donald said something, she had an answer. She had to read the book, or at least, she read most of it. She keep up with him, well.

The only thing that I think that threw her off, when Donald said he would sign 1000 more books. She didnt know how to handle that, and was scrambling a little for an answer. But I think all in all, she did extremly well.

Think about if Domeir had been there. It would have been a diaster...

I ONLY WATCHED A LITTLE OF THE PROGRAM WITH 'THE DONALD', BUT LISA SEEMED TO BE DOING PRETTY WELL. SHE HAD DONE HER RESEARCH AND MAYBE A LITTLE INTIMIDATED TO BE WITH THE GREAT ONE, OR SO HE THINKS. LISA IS NOT MY FAVORITE BY ANY MEANS, BUT THE BOOK HAD NO INTEREST TO ME. THINK LIKE A BILLIONAIRE, REALLY! THAT'S ALL MOST OF US WILL EVER BE ABLE TO DO.

I watched part of it when lisa and donald started talking about the problems the miss america pageant is having and what they can do to help it be more popular.I would suggest getting more of the women to do sextapes!!!Isn`t that what Miss virgina did?

Regis said this morning that he was watching The Donald on QVC...then he commented that the hosts they have are all professional and beautiful...and he said the Donald was quite enamoured with the host which he said was named "LISA".....was it Lisa Mason or Robinson? MJy guess....given the DONALD was that it was LR....

I could definately see Lisa R, Donald, and QVC doing some show together. It would be called "Ask Lisa about Getting Fired!"

I didn't even get to watch. Exactly how long did it take for the first 1000 autographed copies to sell out?

puddy

Less than two minutes.

I was expecting a little more interesting show from Lisa and the Donald--both have huge personalities. Does anyone remember David Venable with Martha Stewart shows? Those were funny!

Yes, I too was surprised to see Lisa wearing the tweed outfit again--I am a details person; I notice things like that, which is why I'm so self-conscious--I notice when people need their eyebrows arched, or wear the same thing two days in a row--I am sure someone notices that about me too! Lisa always wears that outfit with Joan, too. I am wondering if she spent big bucks on it, and wears it with all the celebs she hosts with because she wants them to think she's in their league. Just a thought.

Or maybe she was feeling under the weather or super nervous. I turned it off halfway; I couldn't stand to see her kiss up anymore, but she was completely off yesterday. She welcomed in Greg, the caller, and then asked what his name was, after just mentioning it. I will give her credit though, it's hard to hawk a $15 book for 30 minutes though--give me a break!

Ok, I am going to bring this thought up...

Donald Trump BUYS QVC!!!!

Maybe the book thing was a ruse, and his real intention is to but the Q.......

On Regis and Kelly this morning Regis talked about Donald Trump on QVC. He said that Lisa did really well and commented on her great looks. He said Donald Trump was so taken with her that he didnt really say much. He also said something about Trump offering her a job and wondering if he was serious. I thought Lisa seemed pretty nervous, I agree it was pretty boring, they both should have been a little more real. They were like two stiffs. I wonder how they are handling the extra autographed books he said he would stay up all night signing. I thought Lisa looked good, she is better with the hair up, I dont think she looks good at all with the hair down and the lip liner, and dark eyebrows.

Remember when Tova B. used to wear the same black suit with white collar and silk flower every time she was on?!

In the second half hour, QVC should have had Peter Coppola come on and fix Lisa and Donald's hair (How about, How to LOOK like a billionaire). Lisa was so nervous, she looked like a contestant in an interview at a beauty pageant. (I used to run pageants) She should have coordinated her clothing to match Donald. Maybe matching his pink necktie by wearing a pink suit. That would have been classy. ;)

I said it before, 411 - you ALWAYS have the 411!!!! That would have been a great idea. Remember when Kathy went to Marth Stewart's house? Martha has that collection of green glass dishes and Kathy's suit was the same shade of green. It's not only classy, it's a compliment to the other person.

Exactly, Puddy, it looks like you put some thought into it without trying too hard ;)

The only thing HSN does better than QVC is how they handle callers (HSN hosts know the callers' names & they are right on line -- not like QVC's "hello hello hello - is anybody there?") I think Lisa got thrown with the "Greg" call because for once the caller was there & they had told her his name ahead of time! Poor Lisa I felt for her, she was so nervous (I was looking to see if I could see her heart beating through her chest).

puddy
09-30-2004, 01:25 PM
It does appear to be a 'wing it' situation when the host takes calls. In the old studio, they had the caller's name and state on a monitor. Now, the callers (sometimes) don't even realize that they are being spoken to by the host, on live tv. Duh.

Susiee
09-30-2004, 05:09 PM
Maybe it's because they've waited so long & they have to turn the sound off on their tv's? Have any of you ever spoken on QVC? I always order automated ordering so don't ever get the opportunity. I was thinking that maybe we all should have a contest & see who can order the fastest? ha ha (anybody cheats & we sic Puddy on them)
