Minnesota girls as show hosts

I was just browsing through the QVC and HSN "Meet the Hosts" section on their respective websites. I couldn't help but notice just how many of these hosts come from Minnesota! Did anyone else ever notice that? Do you think it's because their overall appearance is not ethnic but rather all so "all-American girl" like in that part of the US? Ideas anyone?

I think a large part of the reason for this is that most of the original home shopping shows were based in Minnesota/Wisconsin - that area of the country. I remember that's where CVN [which was bought out by QVC] was from as was another show [don't recall the name]. So many of the hosts were from that area. They they all went to other shopping networks and multiplied! Mary Beth Roe was originally on CVN, a couple of people [don't recall names] are on HSN and a couple more on ShopNBC.

So I think that may be why you see so many from that area. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks, Sissy! I never knew that most of the shopping channels originated in Minnesota. I knew that ShopNBC came from there and that HSN comes out of Florida. Thanks for enlightening me!
