Does anyone who gets the TSV info ahead of time know if there's a Mrs. Prindables TSV coming up in the next month or so. I like to buy them for office Christmas gifts and want to get as many as possible in one "package." Thanks loads!

Teena ... are the Mrs. Prindables items worth the high shipping charges? Couldn't you go to the mall and get the same thing for much less? I know that here in Denver, just about every mall has a chocolate/candy store with all the different caramel apples, stuffed pretzels, caramel/chocolate popcorn, etc.
Do they (apples) really stay fresh?

I think they're well worth it. The apples that you can buy around here (Pittsburgh PA) are much more expensive. I've bought them for about three years and everyone raves about them.

How long will they keep?
They're not worth it, trust me. I made them last year and saved a bundle. It's much more fun making them with family and friends. Kids love making them also. Don't be fooled by QVC telling you how fresh the apples are, etc. They are lying! Bottome line.

We've loved those apples for years but the quality seems to have dropped. (I think they had a fire and moved their location or something like that.) Now the price has gone up--so we're going to make our own this year too.

Yep2, PLEASE post your recipe for the caramel. Whenever I make the apples the caramel drips off; it doesn't stick like Mrs. Prindables.
I bought the Mrs. Prindables apples 4 years ago and LOVED them; however this was when they were using fugi apples. Now they use granny smith apples which I don't care for.
1 year after I made my first purchase I purchased some more, but then it was the granny smith apples and I didn't like them. Interestingly, on that purchase only two apples were edible the other apples were not sealed in there bags. I called QVC and they credited my account.
Does anyone know what stores sell them (so I don't have to pay S&H)?
I heard Williams Sonomia catalog sells them but not the store.

I know Sak's in Beachwood, Ohio sells them. And they were also in the Neiman-Marcus food catalog that we just received.

I bought some last year at Bloomingdales; however they were stale. I think QVC has the freshest inventory.
I did a search for a copycat recipe and came up with this;

I've never made them but might try this recipe. I hope it's a good one.

Try Harry & David. They have the BEST customer service and sell similar products, plus a whole lot more. We've used them for over ten years every Christmas with no complaints. We've even ordered so late that Federal Express was delivering on Christmas Eve at 8:00 or 9:00 at night. No problems with last minute stuff either.
Ellie, roll the caramel apples in the chocolate pieces or nuts IMMEDIATLY after you've dipped them in the sauce. This helps keep them from running. Place them on wax paper after drizzling with chocolate, and chill in the refrigerator. Make sure your caramel isn't too thin or too hot, because that could also be the reason the sauce runs off the apple. The sauce should be heated enough to only keep it melted. I usually turn the heat off when I'm quickly making about ten of them. If the sauce is too stiff, I'll turn it on very low just to make it a little smoother again.
Good luck!!

Echoing Puddy--Harry & David is great. We have an "outlet store" in town--one of my favorite places to go this time of year.

Lucky bum! I have to travel about 1-1/2 hours. It takes everything I've got to not open the packages on the way home!

Thanks for your comments. There's no way I'm making them though lol. From others that I've seen in stores and catalogs the price on them is very good plus they are delicious and very fresh. And I love Granny Smith apples - you need a tart apple anyway to balance the sweetness of the chocolate, caramel, etc.
