Forgive me if this has been talked about before as I am only an occasional lurker. Where is Christopher Radko and why is he now on HSN? QVC is on a slippery slope downward. This isn't the first vendor to jump ship. Any insights?

The vendors get better deals at HSN. Radko is just one of many to leave QVC.

The vendors are not necessarily jumping ship. QVC is probably letting a lot of them go. QVC is HUGE and has by far the biggest market. I doubt if they're hurting any.

If the vendors aren't making enough money for the company, then they leave. He's probably with HSN because more people are purchasing his products over there.

The vendors don't necessarily leave...they sign a contract for a specified period of time once the item is accepted. After the contract period, either party can decide not to re-sign.
Many times, the Q decides to go with another vendor, or the vendor decides the Q market is tapped out - time to go try another network. Open up a new market....

Like I said, they leave if the money isn't there. Tapped out means no $$$$. They only get resigned if they bring in enough $$$$ to make it worthwhile for QVC to keep their business. Contracts or not. Those that have been there for years have been raking in the dough for that network AND the company they represent. It's all about money.....

Last year, I vacartioned in Canada and visited a gallery--and during the course of conversation, the owner mentioned he had sold many paintings on QVC. He told me he had to go up to the third story of his building and drop a wrapped picture to the street below, because QVC's shipping policies were so stringent. He told me he stopped selling on QVC because all their requirements actually cost HIM money. By the way, he said the people were very nice to deal with on all fronts.

Racquel Welch will now be on SHOPNBC,
I guess she gave up her line over at HSN.
