........ Hi All! Did anyone order the Old Virgina Auto Delivery candles back in August? I did and I've really been enjoying them.
If anyone else ordered these, do you know when the next shipment is? I forgot if there's one for Christmas or if it's after that. I looked on qvc.com and the item number is no longer available. Rather than deal with Customer Service, I thought I'd check with you guys first.
Thanks!!!

Rhubarb...I would be most happy to tell you about the Lampe Berger's!
It is a lamp (think small oil lamp) (comes in many designs..prices range from 40.00 to 6,000.00 no kidding!) It has a stone which is attached to a wick which goes inside the lamp and the lamp burns alcohol based "oil" (not oily at all) You light the stone...let it burn for 1-2 minutes..blow it out-the hot stone then infuses your whole house (and I mean WHOLE) with scent and something in the oil helps to clean the air ... I use mine a LOT in the winter when the house is shut up. They are wonderful...people who have them love them!! IF you are interested I have a couple of great websites for these...let me know. Ask Beagle...she loves hers. Jeepers! I should get money from the Lampe Berger company for this...By the way...they have been making these since the late 1800's.
Big hugs....Lopiekitty

You guys, for sure get one if you can. I totally love mine and it really does scent your house. The service at the website is great, too. I live in AZ and I got mine in about 4 days with *free* shipping. Now if we could only get them to give Lopie a percentage for her advertising, they'd be darn near perfect :)

Enough...They are wonderful...You know how a candle or airfreshner scents just one or two rooms? The Lampe Berger will scent your WHOLE house...Well worth the extra dollars you will spend on it...I love mine. Check it out..the website will have more info. then I can type here.

(((((((( Lopie sweetie kitty)))))))), I am beginning to love candles also. I purchased the no name cheap variety, as you can imagine they were not effective. I have a Yankee candle shop nearby, can I purchase the Lampe Berger there?
PS what is a Lampe Berger??? I am a novice please explain, love.

Baybell....A Lampe Berger "looks" like a "small oil lamp base" They come in many styles and price ranges..There is a wick attached to a stone the wick goes in the jar, in the "oil", which is NOT oily but an alcohol based product...You light the stone...let it burn for 1-2 minutes...blow it out and the hot stone along with the oil infuses your WHOLE house with scent...There is something in the oil that helps purify the air to...I LOVE mine...I use it mostly in the winter when the house is shut up.
A plain glass starter lamp w/stone and starter bottle of oil will run about 40.00...I posted a web-site where you can get one AND they have free shipping on orders over $50.00
www.mywood-n-treasures.com That is a good place to start...I know they can seem pricy but the Lampe Berger is far superior to a candle (and the lamp is a 1 time investment)...although I still use candles too...Let me know how this works out for you sweetie!
Hugs......Lopiekitty
p.s. You will need a new stone every 2nd year..THEY will tell you get a new one EVERY year...but I have gone 2 years..no problem.
replacement stones run around $12.00

Thank you LopieKitty, I will definately check that out. Yes during the winter months unpleasant cooking odors are hard to eliminate, this is a good remedy.(((hugs)))
beaglelvr & lopiekitty: Thanks for the info on the lampe bergers. They sound interesting. I googled about it and checked out another website www.maisonbouquet.com Click on "What's on Sale?"
They have some on sale. There is one that retailed for $90.00 and it's now $39.00. It's a patchwork design. I have to try one of these. I love the idea of scenting the whole house as opposed to just one room. Thanks again.

NO Problem Amy....I have had mine for over a year...they have some BEAUTIFUL lamps...Just depends on how much you want to pay...The patchwork one sounds lovely! You will enjoy it...I promise!!!
Not only does the Lampe Berger make your house smell wonderful...It helps with bacteria in your air ...If you are interested and have time do some more research on the company .... they have been around since the late 1800's! They MUST be doing something right.
Let me know how you like yours...OK Amy?
Big Hugs...Lopiekitty
p.s. I know about the website you found and have ordered from them..they are a good company.

This sounds very interesting. One question.
Can you buy the lampe berger and some plain (i.e., non-fragranced oil/alcohol) and then add your own essential or fragrance oils?
lopiekitty
11-17-2004, 02:50 PM
No...You HAVE to use the Lampe Berger Oils...BUT they DO have a "oil"
that has NO scent yucko....Hope this helps.

But if they have a no-scent formula, why couldn't I add my own fragrance?
Maybe I'll write them.
Thanks for your response.

Lopiekitty....thanks. Checked it out. Now the only problem is which one to get? lol Can you tell me how long the oil lasts? Is it a one time use or can you squeak out more than that? (Just trying to figure out how much to buy) And if you don't mind.....are the fragrances very strong...will they bowl anyone over coming through the door? Thanks again. Enjoy your day!
Sorry for the edit....spelling error.

Enough...I love the fragrances..NOT all of them...I would be happy to list a few of my favotites for you:
Winterwood..Nice/Powdery/clean scent..
Ocean Breeze...Need I say more..
Victoria...Rose like...nice
Wild Peony...LOVE it!
Do NOT get the Patchoulli...I LOVE Patchoulli and HATE theirs! Yuck!
IF you are worried about strength of scent..buy an unscented bottle of oil and you can "tone" down the strength of scent. I have had no problems..buy everyone is different.
IF you like the Vanilla scents...those are nice...just NOT my cup of tea.
How long will a bottle last? Depends on how much you burn your lamp sweetie...I always have oil on hand...You do NOT need to burn your lamp long before your house will smell good..How long you let it burn is, again, a personal preference.
Let me know how this works out...
Hugs...Lopiekitty

Well you guys sucked me in also. I too--have purchased the lamp and can not wait to get it. I have 25 yankee candles-at all times--lit 4 to 6 hours daily. I love fragrance in my home!!! Lopiekitty, thank you for introducing another product. I am always looking for new fragrances. I thought I had tried it all. Do you like the cinnamon? I got that one and the ocean breeze. Smarty
