....did Kelly make a mention or share a story? I haven't seen Live! the last two days. I read today that she passed away on Saturday. (She played Phoebe Wallingford on AMC for a LOT of years...)

Susan, Yes Kelly did mention Ruths passing. Kelly said
she learned so much from Ruth and that she enjoyed being
in scenes with Ruth more than anyone else.

Yes...
She gave her a very moving tribute this morning... She seemed pretty emotional.. Said she was instrumental in the lives of the entire cast and she will be sorely missed. She mentioned that she was there for the AMC anniversary show... Said she loved talking with her, and that her stories of the old days were remarkable...
Also said that she was the last surviving cast member of "Citizen Kane"...
Phebe was quite the character...

I was saddened to hear of Ruth's passing. She was just on the 35th Anniversary show. She appeared very frail and didn't have a speaking part. She was in a wheelchair, as she was on the Emmys last Spring.
Kelly spoke very movingly about Ruth and the impact she had on the AMC cast. Her "Phoebe" was truely a great soap character.

Ohhh, that makes me so sad....I know she was old and not in the best health, but it seemed she was a fixture at AMC....someone you saw on the holiday shows, and it made you feel good inside to see her appear....like an old friend.
I watched through the 70's, 80's and 90's, and she was one of my favorites. Loved her storylines with Langley, and also the old Mona and Charles triangle.
I feel lucky that I just happened to catch the Anniversary show...purely by accident, because I am not always around from 1 to 2.

I was so saddened to have heard of Ruth's passing. I also enjoyed seeing her on AMC, esp when she was an integral part of the script. As someone else mentioned here, Phoebe was quite the character. I sure got a kick out of Langley and her & the Charles, Phoebe and MOna triangle----also as someone else had mentioned here.
It was a mystery to me why they never wrote Langley out of the story or covered in the storyline that the actor had died. I hope somehow they write it in about Ruth W's passing as nicely as they did when "Mona" (actress) died. The letter to Bianca from Mona was very touching in the 35th Anniversary.

I also hope they address Phoebe's death on-screen. I really don't see how they couldn't.
Maybe they could get back some old characters who were more closely involved with Phoebe, like Chuck and Donna, and Kelly and Linc.

That would be SSSSOOOOO nice!!! I'd love to see something like that!!
That is so very sad...I am glad she was able to be a part of the anniversary show. I am sure they will do some form of tribute to her. She is such a major part of that show. I know I sure enjoyed watching her when she was on...I'd have to say that was when Soaps were truly good!!
