Last few times I saw CitiKnits presented on QVC, I did not see Renee. Anyone know what happened to her???

She seemed to be their official spokesperson for a long time.

I don't know who Renee was, never been into watching the clothes shows on the Q. I have seen CitiKnits on the last few times that the TV has stopped on the Q here lately, and whoever that lady is they have now is quite nerve wracking; she got on my nerves after just a few minutes.

You guys are right about that laugh. Woman never stops. Nothing is that funny.

BTW, I did hear a while back QVC had a problem with Renee b/c she refused to do something the Q asked her to do so they dropped her as spokesperson for citiknits. My memory is a little fuzzy about details, but I think that is what happened.

Renee used to scare me.

I thought she was fabulous. Good talker, very good description of the garments and lots of fun to watch and listen to.

I liked Renee. She looked great in every piece of clothing (not true for everyone in Citiknits), had lots of style and savvy, and was very articulate. Somehow her very-N.Y.C. accent made her sound chic and sophisticated.
I'd certainly much rather watch her than gigglewoman.

I never could get used to Renee's blond hair though...

Gosh, I thought the new lady was Renee's daughter! At least to me, they seem similar. Oops!

Puddy, that's what I thought, too! Didn't a host introduce the new Citiknits spokeswoman as Renee's daughter? Gosh, I thought I saw a resemblance, but maybe I'm mistaken.

Btw, has anyone tried Citiknits, and if so, what do you think?

The clothes are great. They really last (better than Susan Graveyard) and the color does not fade. Be careful not to snag them but if you do, you can usually pull the material both ways (up & down and left & right) and work it back down. They are the best for the price.

Puddy,
I don't know what you mean by "similar" but Renee didn't have a hugely annoying giggle every few seconds.

any more reviews or opinions of the clothing line? I watched a bit yesterday and I agree that the spokesperson sure has a silly laugh- but I have to say the idea of travel and citiknits does seem appealing. I couldnt tell though, if the look good in person or matronly. What is your take on this?

I wondered what happened to Renee, too. I remember when she first started they said she owned the Citi knits company. She said she had a partner who was camera-shy, wouldn't come on the air. I don't think Miranda Blasingdale (?) is her daughter, though. Miranda has a bit of a southern accent and Renee is obviously from New York (I'm from NY too, so I should know!)

I do miss Renee. Miranda is a black version of Jacque. They look and act so much alike.

Go to her website www.reneegreenstein.com
Her website says

I received an email from Renee (or one of her assistants). She said she'd be returning to the air soon with a new line of clothing.

On QVC or another, better network?

Puddy, I was wondering the exact same thing. HSN was the first thing that came to mind!

By the way, does anyone remember citiknits sold on QVC before it was named citiknits? It was part of the Jessica Holbrook line (I think) and was just referred to as "slinky" fabric or slinky knit or something like that. Then it got its own line.

Hey, that's right! HSN's is called Slinky.

HSN's is different material, although definitely slinky. But I'm pretty sure citiknits used to be under the Jessica Holbrook line and was just called "a Jessica Holbrook dress in slinky material" or something like that. I have some in my closet - I should take a look.

I have a dress also from years ago. I don't own any Citiknits, but this dress apppears to be the same fabric. It has a Jessica Holbrook labe. I haven't worn if very often. It never fit just right. It is one of the many things I probably should have returned, but was just too lazy.

Citiknits first appeared under the Jessica Holbrook label. I think the first item was a long sleeve, short swing dress. They had to stop calling the material slinky because there was a Slinky brand. (which claims to be the original & is that woman's voice the worst ever) Renee didn't say which network she was returning to but I guess it is QVC.

A caller just asked Miranda during the Citiknits show what happened to Renee Greenstein. Lisa R. answered that Renee is still with the company and has always been involving at the manufacturing end. The line has grown so fast that she isn't able to spend so much time in QVC's green room going on air. So she is back in NY doing the manufacturing end while Miranda Incessant Giggles is on air now.

How about they swap positions?

Gotta tell ya...it doesn't matter who the spokesperson is...I LOVE my Citiknits. Took four outfits (pants and tops) with me on a two-week vacation this fall. I mixed and matched and re-mixed and re-matched...they never wrinkled; if I spilled a little something, they never stained and they always looked fresh. I wish they'd make a few pieces in basic colors to tie outfits together...a sleeveless vest in black and white, a simple blazer-style jacket in black, white or beige...things that could go with any color, any style.

I just got a couple of tops from HSN's Slinky brand line. We'll see how those fare.

Never got used to Renee G. She always reminded me of a black Barbra Streisand, especially the way she talked.

Is Miranda gone for good? Gee, I hope so. She got on my nerves laughing all the time. She was just very annoying especially when she'd be on with Lisa R.

Lisa Mason looks uncomfortable with Renee tonight.

Miranda was just on a few days ago with some new tops! She had a new curly "do." I don't think she's gone. Maybe they both will do the shows. ?
