Two products I can think of right now would be Breezies and Quacker Factory.

amy
02-11-2005, 09:46 PM
Let's see....hmmmm...the Genie Instant Line Smoother and definitely the Breezies. Actually it seems like there have been quite a few undergarmet presentations over the last several weeks...the Breezies, Lipo in a Box, to name a couple.

Koos, Denin and Co, Quaker Factory, Susan Graver (Can't believe y'all didn't mention that mess right off the bat), Collector's Day, Breezies, Breezies, Breezies, Problem Solvers crapola, The at home with Jill fiasco....

Any show that involves hosts eating and making porno faces!!!!

Nothern Nights, esp. since the same products can be found locally at places like Bed, Bath & Beyond and Linens and Things for much less minus the S & H charges plus coupons that arrive in the mail.

02-12-2005, 05:22 AM
Kelkel! That was good one! Cannot believe we all forgot that one too!

How about those crazy mist maker fountains that are at Walgreen's for 9.99!

Jessica Simpson's edible make up just showed up at Walgreen's too, can't imagine she will be on the Q much longer.

OMG you guys have me laughing so hard. I wish the breezies lady would get a new ponytail. How about on HSN. I am so sick of Daniel Kiviat and his horrible clothes. I think they make Susan Gravers look like Neiman Marcus...well not quite but you get the picture. I'd also like Toni Bratton to take a nice long vacation.

amy
02-12-2005, 10:37 AM
You guys are killin' me....lol.

HHIgirl: "Any show that involves hosts eating and making porno faces!!!!" LOL

Hershey: Thanks for the info. I didn't know that you could find the same items at those two stores. Man, I just received a NN pillow from QVC, grrrrrr.
If I see the same one @ Linen n' Things for less, the Q pillow goes back. I'm so sick of getting ripped off on S& H charges. :(

I agree with you all. Seems like there aren't very many new shows or products lately. B-O-R-I-N-G!!!

Amy,
It isn't called Northern Nights in those stores. Someone, please remind me what the company it is that makes Northern Nights - it's slipping my mind.
Different name, same products.

HHIgirl
02-12-2005, 11:54 AM
It is Pacific something or other. A while back a poster told us the inside info as she was an employee of the parent company. I will try to find it!

amy
02-12-2005, 11:55 AM
Oh, do you mean Pacific Coast Feather Co. (I think;maybe) ???

HHIgirl
02-12-2005, 12:00 PM
I think that is it!! I am trying to "Google" it right now but apparently everyone is just as bored as I am right now and they are ALL "Googlewhacking" it is taking freakin forever for search results to come back.

Yes, it is Pacific Coast Feather Co.

I started to list all the products and shows that I wish would disappear and then I thought it would be WAYYYYY shorter if I listed what I actually watch.

Philosphy shows

Um... a few clothing lines (Dialogue, Modern Soul, Pamela Dennis) are all that come to mind.

Silver shows

Diamonique shows (occasionally)

Other than those... I'm a ShopNBC and soon to Be WSS girl!

It will soon be spring and you know what that means... they'll be outside "Karchering" every thing they can get a power washer on!!!

Im tired of hearing and seeing cooks essential demonstrations. If that hasent run its course I dont know what has. Before cooks essentials T-Fal was the craze. It wont be long before a new name of cookware will be plugged to death.

Rowan
02-12-2005, 11:34 PM
Ewwww..I remember T-Fal, my Mom and I purchased a set of their cookare from the Q years ago. Had it for almost a year, and the coating starting peeling inside the pans; neither the Q nor T-Fal would do anything to honor the warranty.

1. Quacker Factory - who the hell wears that garbage
2. Susan Graver - what ugly clothing
3. Breezies - Good god that Kathy lady is so annoying fire her. Have her daughters present that garbage, ain't like they any good either.
4. Corky's ribs - that stuff is terrible
5. Nick Chavez hair products - that stuff doesnt do wonders for your hair, it makes it look like you got electrocuted. I feel sorry for those models, who have to wear that junk. Thank god they only have to put up with that sorry excuse for a hair stylist for a few hours
6. cellulite in a box - just plain junk.

Hiya Jen...

I throw my 2 cents in here there and everywhere. I just finally took the time to email TVTalkshows to recover my password so I could log in here on the new board.

Hope you are feeling well.

How's the troll factor over here these days?

I guess , if you think long and hard,,,all the products could go. They need to start over with some fresh, exciting new things. Even diamonique has gotten mundane....Same with HSN. Maybe when the new shopping channel opens in Minnesota it will become something new and fresh.....

Pro Strong- those pictures they show of nails are disgusting!
Tips- banging that board over and over (Whatever)
Susan Graver- Oh that mouth can't shut up!
Quaker Factory and Breezies, facial flex, Thomas Picconi(sp?), alarm clocks, power washers, Koos (he's as rude as Jill), Nick the Player, Suze Orman,
cleaning solutions, problem solvers

really don't care for ANY of the clothing shows, I don't BUY ANY of the Q's clothes.

I'm new to posting but have been a lurker for quite a while.

Just wanted to clear one thing up - NN featherbeds and pillows and things like that ARE manufactured by Pacific Coast Feather Company. Their labels are on all the Northern Nights products. The sheets are manufactured by someone else, other maunfacturers around the world.

If you listed to the flannel sheet presentations, they mention that they are made in Portugal.

Just an FYI

I want to see Breezies go...along with that idiotic exerciser you're supposed to stick in your mouth, the Oreck rug shampooers and Oreck air cleaners (along with David Oreck), Fuller toilet bowl cleaner (really, do we need a demo of how to clean our commodes???), and, something that was on the air all day yesterday--those plastic food containers with blue snap-on lids. I must have heard three hosts present these food storage items, and one minute into a four-minute presentation, they all ran out of things to say. You take your leftovers, pop them in a container, put on the lid and stack them in your fridge. Big deal!

All of your posts are great, but whoever said the "tips" lady has my vote. Those nails are the ugliest I've seen in a long time...so long, yellow and pointy. Who has nails like that anymore? (hope no one here. lol) Anywho, she gets my vote.

The ponytail comment was very funny along with almost everything else you guys have said. Still, I haven't seen anyone gush over any products as much as Coleen and the others do at HSN with Suzanne's products. No words can describe how they fawn over her junk.

1) doll shows (sorry Marie)
2) breezies (creepy)
3) hummel (bleck)
4) TOYS TOYS TOYS at Christmas time
5) Love David Venable, but am BIGTIME over the googly eyes as he eats ... get a new schtick!

At least we don't have to watch Suzanne Somers or the lady on HSN who sells the wigs! GAGGING!!!

Get rid of Mist Maker for sure. See my original post of the Mistmaker Swirling Mist Tranquility Fountain with Soothing Colors SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM64.239.114.244/board/search.php?searchid=15506

This is what I would like to see ADDED/CHANGED:

How about a new format. A reality QVC show. Not so studioish. Not so everything perfect and in its place.

Add travel/vacation packages, and sell them on location!

Selling REAL practicle things that would make everyones life easier/better at a lower rate because of volume sale:

- gas cash cards
- grocery cash cards,
- day care discounts for mothers,
- health care policies,
- SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM drug cash cards.

Let me think of more....

While reading everyone's lists (and we really all are "on the same page"!), I started thinking about the products that get returned......I wonder what they do with all those mouth-exercising things that vile couple hawks on QVC when they are returned.....?!?!?! EEEEWWWW! Gross! Do they sanitize them with a Karsher Power Washer and send them to their Outlet Stores for re-sale at a discount??? Perish the thought!!!

bichonlady, interesting thought. Could you just imagine? Eeeww is right. Now, how about this one. What do they do with the breezy panties if the "fit" isn't right or the consumer decides (after trying them on, of course) they need a different size. Can I hear a collective sigh of disgust?

BTW, Happy Valentine's Day to all of us!

msbdoodle
02-14-2005, 04:03 PM
They send them back out...................I ordered the Lori Grenier ..........
Item Number H86082
Gold & Silver Safekeeper Mirrored Jewelry Cabinet by Lori and it must have had at least 16 places where the paint and or finish was damaged.............it had to be sent back out because the box had more tape on it than normal.................many complaints about it at the Q site..............I really didn't want to return it because I really wanted it to be wonderful...........

But after calling customer service..............they talked me into returning it and they are going to give me full credit for the $25.00 plus that it cost me to send it back........................................OMG... bunky

New here, so hello everyone. Here's what I don't watch and/or need on QVC:

Fran Wilson (tried this lipstick that I purchased in the store, and was glad I didn't pay S&H for this crap on QVC. I personally don't need "lipstick" that one application lasts for 2-1/2 weeks...which was really a stain in a gwad awful shade that wouldn't come of my lips!)

Geni Instant Line Smoother (got sucked into buying this and all it did was dry to a white flakey substance, adding an unwanted layer of substance on my face and didn't smooth anything)

I agree on the Breezies. I bought a couple of sets of undies and was not impressed with them. I have found better made, fabric and fit with retail undies. And that giggly mom with the pony tail and head band is too much for me to take. I have noticed that her daughter is now pitching panties in her place.

Dessert Beauty and Jessica Simpson. I'm too old for that bubble gum, teeny bopper makeup and I CAN'T STAND THAT WASTE OF AIR AND SKIN NAMED JESSICA SIMPSON. I'll watch when someone slams a giant frosted cupcake in her face.

Cooks Essentuals. Gives me flashbacks of the crappy T-Fal that I bought from Q which had food sticking to it immediately.

Koos of Course of course. What's with the cartoon glasses and black pleather/vinyl apron? Creepy look. Someone needs to tell Mr. Haute Couture the glasses are ugly and the apron doesn't hide his belly. His fashions aren't too hot either.

Susan Graver. Cheap fabric that doesn't hold up to wash and wear and they are all the same shape and 'style'.

Any dolls, cuckoo clocks, race fan stuff, sports fan stuff, some of the Christmas decorations and junk. Some of the other collectible lines too.

And how many times a year do they need to have a pressure washer, vaccum cleaner or steam cleaner as a TSV?

Thanks for the info on the Northern Nights merchandise. I do have 3 or 4 sets of NN sheets and I do like them. I didn't know they were sold in retail under different name. But I have been finding over the past year or so more brands and stores carrying the higher thread count sheets at more reasonable prices.

BREEZIES! Everyone on the planet knows these are sold on QVC.
We don't need to hear about them every other day! So I think they should disappear from live shows! And especially not monopolize a weekend with a TSV. The weekend should have been the Day of Beauty!

And KOOS should just go away. If they wish to offer his "designs" maybe they should have someone "on air" for him; you know like Miranda is now doing for Renee and the Citiknits line. He could then devote more time to "designing" his line and perhaps design more than patchwork pieces.

I personally am tired of people coming on the q that have had plastic surgery (and it is so obvious that they did) and trying to sell us anti aging products. I mean how stupid do they think we are? Take Victoria Principle for example, Her eyebrows are so high on top of her head you could attach an antena and start receiving free TV. If any of you have soapnet you can watch reruns of Dallas where her eyebrows are much lower. Not only that, she is married to a plastic surgeon. But we are supposed to ignore all that and buy her creams??Or how about Leigh Valentine, the firmalift serum lady, she also claims that she has had no surgery and is in her mid forties. Her face is so tight, Joan Rivers is going to want to know the name of her doctor!

Rowan
02-19-2005, 04:46 AM
I've always thought the same thing about Victoria Principal, and what her husband's profession is. I don't like her. She's always given me the impression that in her mind she's above everybody, and that we the little people are to stupid; to figure out that her skin looks so "good" because either her husband or one of his friends has done some "work" for her.

(1) Food shows and David V stuffing his mouth and saying "yum" (what would expect him to say?)
(2) That plastic food wrapping machine
(3) Susan Graver's frumpy clothes
(4) Joan Rivers pretending she looks good because of some face cream instead of 100 plastic surgeries
(5) "Diamonique Week" (when ISN't it Diamonique week???)
(6) Endless "Anniversary" shows (who gives a damn???)
(7) "Gem Week" (when isn't it Gem week???)
(8) The Karcher pressure washer (enough already!)
(9) That hag who sells Kitchen Aid (she needs a voice coach)
(10) Denim & Co long straight skirts with slits up the wazoo

There's a lot more, can't think of them all now.

Those hours of "mess makers" invoke anger within me. I cannot be held respondible for my actions when I accidently tune into that fiasco! Besides, who wants to look at somebody else's scrapbook anyway? NOT ME!!

- What about those cutting boards - Tufftop, or something like that? The ones that Bob Boringsox keeps throwing on the floor until you're ready to scream.
- Anything Fuller Brush - I'm so sick of those products on the morning show.
- Any Don Aslett cleaning product. That guy John that hawks them on the morning show must have a cot in the studio - he's always there. I'm so sick of hearing about how many mllions of square feet Don's company cleans every night. Who cares!!
- Spanx - need I say more?
- Dr. Taub's products. I supposed the products might be okay, bet get rid of Taub - what a bore!

I am a recent fan of this website/message board. I love love love all makeup and am a true girly girl, too. I have to say that I am also new to QVC and just started watching last fall. I have been suckered into hundreds of dollars in various products. I am not shy about packing things up and sending them back but for the most part I guess I've enjoyed most things I've received. The recent comments about the breezies and Denim & Co have just cracked me up making me laugh out loud! I don't understand the appeal of the Denim & Co OR that Quaker Factory lady with the odd headband!!!!!!!! Wha?????? I couldn't believe it when I realized that this was a "regular". Being a makeup hound and a jewelry fiend this is what I've ordered the most...other than cleaning products. I have found that Philosophy and Bare Escentuals have been my favorite lines. I have watched the "Prescriptives" guy and I can't stand watching them present this line. I tried their "False Eyelashes" mascara when it first came out a year or two ago. It was just so ordinary and did nothing that a cheap SPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAMSPAM mascara would do. I find that I get hypnotized sometimes by the hosts and the products and the testimonials and I have to watch myself. I order everything online and then if I come to my senses hours later and have buyer's remorse I can cancel it. (Can't wait too long though). Anyway, I'm enjoying reading the posts and jotting down good information and recommendations (Rimmel mascara, wet n wild #666, etc...). OK...time to watch Lisa and her Diamonique presentation. I'm still new enough that I'm not tired of watching this yet but am sure the day will come.

Hi HHIgirl...I have to say your posts have been the most entertaining and informative. I think it was your "Denim & Co" comment that made me laugh out loud in fact. I am not very skilled at posting yet but hopefully I'll get on board with all the tricks (quotes from previous posts etc). Can you tell me why the "Smashbox" mini glosses are a must-have? I saw them on QVC and I was tempted and then I think they sold out. I'm intrigued!

Wow thanks! You will become adept and addicted quite rapidly to this BB!

The Smashbox lipgoo's actually DO what they say they will do! The "lip injection" in a tube that Miss Lisa refers to is correct! They even make it safely through the washer and dryer if you forget about them in a jean pocket. And even better your hair or boogers won't get stuck in it!
