They spend so much time portaying them as being deeply religious & showing their close family ties.  It took me a while to figure out they weren't married.  lol

Chapman subsequently joined a motorcycle gang, the Devil's Disciples, that reportedly had a distaste for blacks, although Chapman himself claims not to be a racist and has recently appeared on the Montel Williams Show. According to Chapman, another gang member, Donny Kirkandall, murdered pimp and drug dealer Jerry Lee Oliver, a crime for which Chapman was found in complicity by a Texas judge. Chapman has reportedly been arrested at least 18 times.

In 1977, Chapman was sentenced to five years of hard labor and served two of those years before being paroled in 1979. Before his sentencing, Chapman had married, sired at least one child, and divorced a woman named LaFonda. Because of this fact, Chapman owed money for child support. The judge in charge of handling the child support case asked Chapman to catch a fugitive for $200, thus launching his bounty-hunting career.

Personal Life

Chapman married Beth Smith, his girlfriend for sixteen years, on May 20th, 2006 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island in Hawaii. They have 2 children together. Father of Duane Lee Chapman III, Leland Chapman, Lyssa Chapman, Tucker Chapman, Christopher Chapman, Barbara Chapman, Wesley Chapman, Cecily Chapman, Bonnie Jo Chapman and Gary Chapman. His daughter Barbara Chapman, who was not expected to attend the wedding, was killed in a car accident one day before, on May 19 2006.

It was very sad about his daughter, yet here lately he has really become big in the news because of his arrest in Mexico. Thing is, he went there uncover to capture that horrible rapist and he did, return him to the USA and then well, Mexico got their hands on him and put him in jail. I believe he is out waiting to hear if they are going to drop charges, of course, us allowing the Mexicans to come into the USA will help that part. I think Dog is doing a good job at what he does and how he does it. Hopefully, Mexico will just go their way...
