Daytime Emmy Noms Just In

Live is nominated again........also Regis and Kelly for hosts, along with Dr. Phil, Ellen and the View girls.....and oddly enough, (only saying this because I never hear anything about it), Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway, and their show SoapNet.....I don't get that show here,:( but it must be good?

Sounds like ony 4 soaps were nominated for best Soap.....AMC, GH, ATWT, and Y&R......guess that means NBC was shut out again if I have my networks remembered correctly?

SoapTalk was nominated last year, too... Personally I don't see why... The shows I've caught didn't do tht much for me, and Lisa Rinna makes me nervous... LOL... It's "Live on Speed"... For those who think Kelly is too animated... <wink>

But personalities aside, the few behind the scene segments, etc. I have watched were interesting. If you're a big soap fan, they do have "stuff" you can't get anywhere else.

I'm glad to see two ABC Soapers nominated this year... Both have been very good... Lordy, now if they can only do something about OLTL - Poor Blair has been locked in the trunk of a car for about a month! And now, the car has just gone through the "crusher" - she is of course supposed dead... And Todd had been held captive even longer, tied spread eagle to a bed by the Mad Margaret, and finally forced to have sex with her.. Naturally he escaped just before she blew up the cabin - somehow... Sorry... Had to Vent...

Oh, I caught a glimpse of "Antonio" in the upcoming Law and Order Promo as a "famous Chef"...

LOL about OLTL.....I peek at it sometimes....Kassie did get nominated for either best actress or supporting actress though.....must be supporting....Erica Slezack (sp) was nom again too. Cant remember them all but Cameron Mathison got a nod.

I'll be kinda surprised if AMC doesn't win this year - it's been the best I can remember in a long time... Of course, I know nothing about the other network's offerings...

Y&R is still the best soap imo. I watch AMC and GH and allthough they are very good, I find the writing and acting on Y&R untouchable.

Just want to voice my opinion and I'm sure others will disagree which is fine too.

Martha's Jailtime Emmy Noms
Martha Stewart (news - web sites) hasn't graced the small screen in several months, but that didn't stop the lifestyles guru from racking up three Daytime Emmy noms.

And that's a good thing.

Stewart, who will be released from prison at the end of the week, was in the running for Outstanding Service Show and Outstanding Service Show Host for her efforts to domesticate the masses on Martha Stewart Living.

The homemaking maven, who will still be serving her five months under house arrest when the awards are presented on May 20, can petition federal probation officers for permission to attend the ceremony if she chooses to do so.

The nominations for the 32nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, released Wednesday on Today, again pitted last year's Outstanding Talk Show winner Ellen DeGeneres (news) against the ladies of The View.

Each of the daytime gabfests was up for 11 awards, including Outstanding Talk Show and Outstanding Talk Show Host(s).

Also in the running for Outstanding Talk Show were: Live with Regis & Kelly, Soap Talk and Dr. Phil.

All My Children racked up the most Emmy bids overall, with a leading 18 nominations, including Outstanding Daytime Drama and a Best Actor nod for Michael E. Knight.

Roger Howarth of As the World Turns, Jack Wagner of The Bold and the Beautiful, Steve Burton (news) of General Hospital, Grant Aleksander of Guiding Light and Christian Jules LeBlanc of The Young and the Restless were also nominated in the Best Actor category.

While All My Children racked up nominations in categories from Best Hairstyling to Best Lighting, none of its actresses made the cut in the Best Actress category.

Daytime starlets up for the drama queen honor include: Martha Byrne of As the World Turns; Susan Flannery of The Bold and the Beautiful; Nancy Lee Grahn (news) of General Hospital Kim Zimmer of Guiding Light; Erika Slezak and Kassie DePaiva (news) of One Life to Live; Juliet Mills of Passions; and Michelle Stafford of The Young and the Restless.

Competing with All My Children for Outstanding Daytime Drama were General Hospital, As the World Turns and the Young and the Restless.

On the kiddie front, Mr. Snuffleupagus had reason to lose his gloomy attitude and go quaff a cold one with Big Bird--Sesame Street was nominated for 13 Daytime Emmys, including Outstanding Preschool Children's Series.

Guiding Light and General Hospital also racked up 13 nominations apiece, while The Young and the Restless trailed with 12.

Of the major networks, CBS led the field in nominations with 53; ABC received 47 nods; and NBC trailed, contending for a mere 10 Emmys.

For the third year in a row, once-perennial nominee Susan Lucci was overlooked in the Daytime Emmy race.

That little gal is SO personable. I love her laugh. She does some other stuff for the Food Network, that is a fun watch, too...

I love the Food Network on the weekends... Wow, I saw the chocolate sculpting and the cake decorating competitions recently... They were both simply amazing!

The only problem is, I'm watching the show, and then I'm running to the computer to snag the recipe... Well, I guess that's NOT really a problem..

The problem is that I seldom get around to making! But I have a great collection...
