Paul Kelley is there too. Behind the scenes. I am waiting for Steve Bryant to show up. Or Ron Maestri.

Has it been that long????? Oh,indeed, those were the days!!! Remember Q Bird!!

Tootie was on HSN. It was so tacky. Many moons ago, we only had HSN. We did not get QVC until later. It was HSN. Back when they only seemed to sell really bad looking colored CZ's.

I can't believe the little, adorable fur ball is gone :-( Mike Roe is too funny on Dirty Jobs show. Kathy Levine was unpredictable and so cute. Sorry, I don't care for her jewelry. Tova was an over 50 hottie and brought elegance to QVC. She still does, but seems less interested in selling. Judy Crowell was best on the Q. Loved to watch her on the "exercise type" shows. She's definitely into healthy living and her enthusiam reflected it! ~sigh~ how things can change. Hold on to those old VHS tapes! |

QUOTING FROM POSTER: puddy;1915193 (Post Number) Tootie was on HSN. It was so tacky. Many moons ago, we only had HSN. We did not get QVC until later. It was HSN. Back when they only seemed to sell really bad looking colored CZ's. *********************************************************** One of the first things I bought from HSN back in the 80's was one of their CZ pendants, they were called "The house of Nickalas". I sill have it! And I also won some "spendable cash" when they had the envelope game, $480, Barbara Marville was the host. I was calling in to buy a leather trench coat for my Dad because he never bought anyting for himself and they asked me if I wanted to talk to the host. I said sure because I knew they picked people to play the game and sure enough I got picked. I bought all jewelry with the money and I still have it today, a freshwater pearl necklace with a 14k gold togle clasp, a 14k gold Kunsite ring and a pair of 14k gold rope chain earrings. I still wear them all. None of the shopping channels play those games anymore. I guess they figured out that people will still buy from them even if they don't give away anything. I know I still do! |

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
That is so funny to me that you can remember everything to the detail! I am like that, too. A curse and a blessing.
I see Bobbie Ray and realize how LONG she has been in the television shopping business. OMG. BlueBF - I miss Murphy. I thought they would have a Murphy II but I gues not. :(

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
Pebbles, I think Jeff Hewson was on HSN before he came to QVC so you may well have a memory of him with Tootie. I remember "honking" was used as a verb to describle large herringbone (unflexible, broke so easily) chains.
I look forward to Judy being on the air again. I think my speculation that the McCoys were tanked to bring in Paul and Judy as the resident married host couple may well be true. I realize that more and more I watch the shopping channels for entertainment, not for any actual shopping. |

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
Dan married Murphy's trainor but something tells me that Murphy may have passed awhile back. As for Judy, she was a classy host. No slang or silly remarks. She had a military upbringing. It will be nice seeing her again. I am glad she is happy. As I have said before, I once worked at a school with Jeff Hewson's sister and never knew about him or QVC then. They were from a farm community East of Indianapolis near Greenfield Indiana. I think it was in the Wilkenson, Charlottesville, Kennard area. I wonder what ever happened to Jeff. I began watching Q shortly after his divorce and prior to him leaving. I think I only saw him for a few months. Would have been in 1993 or 4. He had a nice singing voice. Wonder if he ever used it professionally after leaving. I expected him to show up on other shopping channels but no. He must have been soured to it or have found a profession he was better suited to.

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
Wow. I never knew Jeff was on HSN and QVC! You go way back!!
Murphy did die a while back. There is a thread on here if you want to check the date. Murphy was Dan Hughes's dog and yes, his wife was Murphy's trainer. She used to be the demonstrator when they sold the Furminator with Murphy.

QUOTING FROM POSTER: pinkchick;1915719 (Post Number) Are Pam and Wes gone from Shop NBC? Lord, they got on my nerves. I don't even watch that shopping channel any more. ********************************************************** I've read on other boards that, Wes and Pamela are no longer ShopNBC hosts. It is believed that Pamela's clothing line will be discontinued come Jan.2010 - buy up! Wes "supposedly" worked behind the ShopNBC scene before making a host, so there is speculation that, he may be doing that right now. I hope so! I hate to hear about anyone losing their job during this recession :-( |

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
I've always like Judy.
She's a natural sales person, and she doesn't seem like a BS'er like some of the other showhosts. Shawn K. comes to mind immediately.

Re: Judy Crowell on Shop NBC
Gosh. I thought Pam was going to just do the clothing instead of hosting. Her stuff is not bad looking, IMO. That's how Terry Lewis from HSN did it. She hosted and then started a clothing line. Too bad if they do discontinue her line. :(
