Have you watched lately adele? I don't know what his ratings are now, but I can barely stand to watch the show. What's up with all that stupidity during his monologue? He has always had that ridiculous jump that he does, but now has added all this other crap like the wiping of his forehead, stupid string dance, and then lunging at the camera making ugly faces. He just looks like a big jerk. And every night he has to talk about how the show will be so great, he lied in the past, etc., etc., broken record. Is this still funny? Night after night, it's really getting old.

I've been a diehard fan for several years. I think I've come to the conclusion, (if this makes any sense) that I'm a fan of the show, and not of Conan.
I love the peripheral characters, most of the sketches, and the comic sensibilites of the show, but I find Conan is less and less tolerable over the years. If you've watched the show for even a few months, you'll hear the same stories repeated by Conan over and over. He's repeated the same schtick for 9 years. He totally drives things into the ground... things that weren't that funny to begin with, and become unbelievably irritating the 9th time you've heard them. I really started to become annoyed by Conan after Andy left the show. I think he was a very important component to the show and helped keep Conan's irritating habits in check. When he left, it was just too much of Conan, and there was nothing to dilute his *grating* personality. Anyway, just my 2 cents. |

I totally agree Michelle24. The show has gone downhill since Andy left. The two of them really seemed to have some spontaneous funny conversations. Now it seems as if Conan is only reading from cue cards prepared by the writers and everything seems so rehearsed, even the interviews with his guests. His questions to them follow a pattern of what he already knows they are prepared to talk about. I can understand why they do that, but the conversatins still sound so rehearsed! How boring! It's such a shame the spontaneity is gone, because left on his own I think he can be very funny.
