OOOHHH! Again! I know! Pick me!!!
First of all let me say WELCOME!!! And come on in and post anytime...new posters are always welcome!
Now onto BE...You do not need to order it from QVC..there are other places to order it MediSpa has it..do a google on that...they sometimes have free shipping/discount offers on BE. I got some there and was very happy with speed of delivery/product.
When using it always remember...less is more..start with a little..(you can always add more) and remember..swirl,tap,buff...(also medispa store has a small kit with the video) But just start out light..coverage is good..if you have a zit or small facial mark just use a little extra on a small brush on that spot. I have oily skin and I love it! I have had great luck with BE..BUT..you will hear from others who did not like it..That is why they have 2 million foundations/make-up products on the market..LOL LOL
Good Luck!
p.s. Don't forget your Mineral Veil...sets your foundation and makes pores look smaller..acts like a finishing powder..love it!
Let us know how you do!

Hey, has anyone tried the Bare Essentuals eye liner? I like it, but it ends up all over my cheeks and then smears when I try to wipe it off. Any suggestions?

Lisa roger, I think you have to try it for yourself. I am one of the few for whom the foundation has not worked. I used it as they suggest, but it looked too chalky and I felt like I had dust all over my face. But, I do like BE's blushes, clear radiance, and mineral veil. Let us know what you think!

I agree ladybug ... you just have to try it! I'm not one to buy my cosmetics from on-line or tv. I want instant gratification! I want to go to the department store, have the make-up artists try stuff on me til I find what works, and what I like!

I'm kind of lucky cuz one of my best friends works for Nars at Neiman Marcus ... he gives me all sorts of free goodies! :-)

Lisa, I am one of the few that does not like Bare Escentuals. I am very fair, and the light was too dark for me. I will confess to liking the eyeshadow, but as for the foundation, I am a liquid type girl all the way. But I will agree with going to an online store like medi-spastore.com, because they always have specials there which make it more affordable to try.

Hey, we all have to help our sisters out when it comes to shopping for make-up online. I would have never known about that site if someone hadn't of provided the url here.

I use it in the summer mostly. It takes talent to apply it correctly. Don't try it on Monday morning when you're running late. Practice and use a little at first. It's like hair products, you can always add but you can't subtract. Welcome, BTW!! :)

Welcome!!! I love BE. Works great for me. I cannot add to the good advice given here except to say that I do like the eye line. I mix a inky consisitancey in the lid and apply with the tiny brush. You have to be careful to let it dry thorougly before you continue with your regime

I am not crazy about bare escentuals either. I have oily skin and it settles in the pores and makes my face look even oiler unless I use the mineral veil, then it just feels like too much gunk on my face and I don't like that feeling either. I do better with a liquid foundation that is made with water.

Really tlc??? I have oily skin and love BE! But you are so right...if you don't use the mineral veil your pores do look large...but I had that problem with liquid/powder make-up...With your skin does foundation turn "orangy" on you? It did on my skin...What foundation do you use??? I have had alot of problems with liquid...Thanks tlc and nice to be posting with you!

I have oily skin and it's fair and BE works great for me! The mineral veil on top does make my pores look like I don't have any. I did put Mary Kay foundation on today just to compare to the BE and it made my skin feel so dry and kind of orangey. I'm going to back to BE tomorrow!

lopiekitty, I typed in MediSpa on google and only see spa services nothing on BE. Could you be more specific as to how to locate BE on that site? Thanks!

Hi, just HAD to post on this one...yes, I am a BE girl!!! About 3 years ago, a friend of mine sent me a picture of myself and my baby daughter, and I was HORRIFIED to see that the skin tone on my face was completely different from my neck, arms, and legs! (Yikes!) Knew right then that I had to change my foundation, but didn't like the heavy, pore-clogging feeling of the liquids I had used before, nor the "melting" feeling I got during hot, humid days. I caught a Bare Escentuals infomercial soon after and I thought "this is it----just what I'm looking for!" (You know, the whole "line of demarcation" thing, etc.) But I didn't order immediately (kept tuning into the infomercial whenever I could---watched it so many times I swear I could recite the script verbatim! From reading past threads, I guess the Q is where Patricia Bastia first met her "good friend" Leslie Blodgett!) Anyway, still skeptical, I drove over an hour away to a mall that had a BE boutique in it, just so I could see the stuff in person and figure out which shade was for me. Liked what I saw (and, by the way, like others have said, definitely use the mineral veil----it makes a difference!) I finally ended up ordering the stuff off of the infomercial, just because you couldn't get a better deal---the quantity of products, WITH the brushes included, plus a how-to video etc. I still have some glee and warmth left from that original kit!) I was flipping channels and discovered that QVC sold BE, and I've been getting my BE thru the Q ever since! (Well, them and eBay! ;-). Ultimately it was BE that got me hooked on QVC, so I have to thank Leslie B. for that!

I know BE is not for everyone, but I definitely recommend people at least TRY it for themselves. It's made such a difference for me and I would not want to use anything else. I also like the fact that it is all natural/no chemicals and has built-in SPF. Final (unoriginal) words of advice: a little DEFINITELY goes a long way, and ALWAYS "swirl, tap, buff".

...For Kelkel---if you're using the eyeliners "dry" (ie. w/o adding water to make it into a paste-like consistency), the "Precision Eyeliner Brush" (aka "push" brush) or "Angled Liner Shadow Brush" might make a difference. I use the angled one (it came as a double-sided brush in the "Getting Gorgeous" kit), and eyeliner goes on much cleaner than if you were to use the "typical" eyeliner brush (that looks like a mini paint brush or lip liner brush). Don't forget to tap the excess off before applying (altho you probably already do that!) Hope this helps!

...And for lisaroger---as far a coverage goes, once you figure out the right shade for you, (took me two attempts) BE foundation is great and gives you a very natural look in any kind of light; evens out the skin tone without looking too heavily made-up. I sound like the infomercial, but I really don't "feel" it on my face. My skin is on the oily side, and I don't break out as much as before. But if you are using bare minerals for covering a blemish, I recommend using the bisque (I use the summer one) and the small synthetic-bristled concealer brush when applying it (not sure why, but this brush makes a difference!) Hope BE works for you as well! :)

lopiekitty-- I don't know if you will see this....I'm not able to get on line too often lately, really busy at work, sorry I didn't get to answer you sooner. I use Joey New York pore minimizer foundation. I used to get it at QVC but they stopped carrying it. Now I order directly from the company or from Sephora.com. It is wonderful and oil free. My face looks so smooth you can't even tell I have pores on my face with this foundation. The hardest part is getting the right color. There are a lot to chose from. They have them divided up into cool or warm shades. I like the cool shades as they keep me from looking too yellow or orange, but you have to be careful so you don't look too gray also. But I have a golden complexion so I have less trouble with that. Anyhow, It's a great product. Teri
